His mother was a delicate, kind woman with a temper, as most of Mao's female relatives seemed to have, but his father.. well, his father was a Japanese man his mother met on a trip to the U. S. The two were both there to sight-see in New York and, even if they both were mediocre at English, they both seemed to hit it off quite well. Nuo-Mu ended up staying a year longer in the states than intended, long enough for Ryuu and her to learn how to speak their middle-ground language and then, eventually, marry. They had little drama, up until Nuo-Mu begged for them to raise their children in her hometown, determined to allow her future children to grow up with her family in close range. Ryuu was reluctant, but the man didn't have many relatives in Japan who he was very close to, so he agreed. Thus began Mao's father living a pretty isolated life in China as he hardly understood the generally spoken language or even the culture, not to mention few wanted to associate with him.. But, he was still rather content with his wife and kids, one of which included Mao.
Mao was born as the middle child and second son of the family and turned into the oddest of the lot. He wasn't home very often growing up, but that didn't mean he had many friends. Oh, no, he was actually generally disliked in his school – not that he cared much. He had learned to ignore what other's thought from his father, but.. that was probably the only thing he really picked up from his parents. Everything else came from his dear grandmother on his mother's side, a woman who not only loathed Ryuu, but was rich and just a generally disliked woman all around. Mao grew rather attached to her at a young age due to her spoiling him and ignoring the rest of the siblings – his older brother was too lost to save, according to her, and his sister was already a daddy's girl. So, it only left Mao to be coddled, not that he minded one bit. He didn't have that many friends because of his haughty attitude, true, but he was pretty much guaranteed a good job at his grandfather's trading company when he got out of school.
While Min-Ya seemed to still be alright with him, Tai-Qiang couldn't stand his pride and harsh, uncalled for criticisms for most who crossed his path. It wasn't until Mao decided to bite into Tai-Qiang's wife verbally that the man turned on Mao and started a fight that neither would forget. It took only that for Mao to cut his ties with his brother and leave to a large city for work in his grandfather's company, while Tai-Qiang did the same as he went to the most rural parts of China he could think of. Min-Ya traveled between the two, but his sister was always a city girl at heart and ended up staying with Mao more often than not, which the man always saw as a sort of victory. A year later and Mao decided that he rather enjoyed medicine – not because he liked helping others, but diseases and things of that like fascinated him. His grandmother encouraged him and even paid his way through a medical school, leaving the savings Mao had gathered through work untouched in the bank. Ah, but, the man had gotten himself into a debate during one of his classes with his professor, that ended in him essentially deciding he would rather go against everything that that man believed in just to piss him off.
Thus started his venture into alternative medicine, which he actually found to be much more interesting than the more standard medical treatments. Acupuncture, aromatherapy, and remedial cures became his main focus of study, all while somehow passing medical school with good enough grades. Some believe the man just didn't have much of a life outside of school to distract him, while others would claim his grandmother bribed half of his grades – either way, he sides with whatever causes more of a reaction in people, so it's hard to say what actually got him where he was at. He became a popular doctor in the city – surprisingly enough – but, of course, his life couldn't remain as smooth as that, could it? At some distant great, great, great aunt's funeral, Tai-Qiang and Mao both happened upon eachother and easily started a heated argument that ended in both leaving the funeral prematurely, but, unlike Tai-Qiang, Mao got a new idea stuck in his head. He couldn't stand the idea that a simple farmer had thought him better than Mao, so, the man decided to prove his sibling wrong and that farming was a chore anyone could manage. That was how he decided to move from China to someplace small and little known for his experiment in farming – to Nirvani Island. Him taking his brother's eldest child with him was just rubbing salt into the wound.
Ah, but, unfortunately for Mao, he didn't really end up as the farmer he had hoped to be. He could hardly grow anything without it dying like that pathetic plant it was and he found his first interest, medicine, coming back to mind every other minute. So, he decided to open up a clinic on the remote island to keep him occupied while he worked on bettering his agriculture skills. He studied his favorite style of medicine, lived quietly with a bundle of lesser individuals, and actually found that there were a few gems in town to captivate him. One of which was a reluctantly charming Freja von der Bach, though he would hardly ever admit to it because of her insistence on calling his science 'magic'. A few things lead to another and one experiment on a new fertility treatment lead to Freja giving birth to Mao's first and probably only child – Xochiquetzal von der Bach Xiqui. He attempted a marriage with the woman at some point, but the two quickly discovered that they honestly couldn't stand each other at such a close range and divorced. So, for half of the year, he takes care of their child, while the other half is reserved for Freja to do what she wishes.──────────────────────────────────── e t c . ──────────────────────────────────── L I K E S. . +++❤ Cats❤ +++❤ Lizard tails ❤ +++❤ Needles ❤ +++❤ Dog ❤ +++❤ Tongue ❤ +++❤ Licorices ❤ +++❤ Jade ❤ +++❤ Fish ❤ +++❤❤❤ Songbirds ❤❤❤ +++❤❤❤ Piano ❤❤❤

Seriously, the place is so unknown that you wouldn't be able to find it on a map even if you tried. You could ask someone from China and, most likely, they wouldn't be able to answer where the hell this town was. Even if they were right next door, like Kule Tale is – ah, you haven't heard of there either? Oh, well, at least it's more well known than Laon Pe. Now that you know the name, I dare you to go and find it. Go on. Try. Google Map it all you want. Not gonna come up. Kule Tale might, though, so go ahead and take a look at the vague imagery there.. Or you can try Google Image and look at the few people that pop up with the last name 'Kule'. ...Find anything? On either? Not much, huh? Well, that's all your gonna get, because Zhi loathes the place. It's boring! Dull! Lifeless!
All you need to know was that it was worse than the cheapest, poorest place you can think of. ..Okay, maybe not THAT bad, but Zhi didn't even know what a computer was until she was 13! She hadn't touched a TV and actually spent her time – or, well.. his time outside. Surprised? Better be or else that doctor is getting a mouthful from Zhi-fu's aunt! Anyway, Zhi-fu grew up on a farm. He raised vegetables, mostly peppers, while his father dealt with a bunch of chickens they kept in hopes to earn some extra money. It didn't really, but his father loves the damned things, while Zhi-fu could only roll his eyes at the sight of him coddling his prized chicken. Weeks before the head would come off and they would have a nice, plump chicken for dinner! Yeah, Zhi-fu learned not to get attached to things pretty quick, even the occasional rat he would pick up and keep as a playmate. The moment his father found the little critters, it was out the window or into a mouth of their little feline companion.
He spent his youth growing up there, learning in the ruddy old classroom they had which.. really wasn't that good when it came to education. There weren't that many teachers willing to live out in rural China, just one scholar who had come down to live with his grandmother for the last few years of her life and a couple of worn out teachers stuck in the Qing Dynasty, as Zhi-fu loved to put it. Sure, he went to school everyday and did all that fun stuff, but it wasn't in the best of conditions. They just used what they had and Zhi-fu was fine with that since he had never lived with anything else. He was taught to be a hardworker, was honest, kind, and all those good traits you would expect in a classic farm boy. He even had a girlfriend and a loving sister who all the boys just fawned over! But, Zhi-fu never really felt.. happy. No, wait, a better way to put it – he never felt right. It took him a whole year of figuring it out – which is pretty damn long time for a preteen to think on something when he had such available distractions! Like fending boys off of his sister and 'rolling in the hay' with his girl, but he did. What he came up with, though, didn't please his parents one bit.
Zhi-fu decided that he was a she. Huge revitalization and, trust her, it wasn't easy explaining it to the folks. They reacted just as she expected them to. They kicked her out and sent her to live with her father's sister and brother in the city. There, she learned of such wondrous things! Like how you can buy anything in China with the right amount in your pocket or of Disney movies – which became an ultimate favorite of the girls, and then – oh, this last one was a lifesaver! Sex reassignment surgery! Poor Shun-chen, Zhi's old girlfriend, was practically forgotten by this point – but, well, she was kind of a whore. Always wanting to play in that haystack! Anyway, Zhi learned about the more modern technology and dived headfirst into it! Mao, her uncle, taught her English after she begged for it, wanting to hear Ariel and Snow White in their original language and actually understand it, while her aunt, Min-ya, went on helping Zhi become the person she wanted to be. The woman was pretty open-minded when it came to that sort of thing.. and she really had a grudge against her brother, so turning his first born son into a pretty girl was a perfect hobby for Min-ya!
In a few years, Zhi could be considered a delicate, little lady by most any man! Better than some girls, at least. The only problem was that.. she kept running into familiar faces! Seeing an old school buddy, a past teacher, even her mother at some point – the anxiety on having to face them got to be too much for her. So, when Mao announced he was taking his savings and moving some place quiet where he could live out his life dream as a farmer, she kissed her auntie good bye and hopped aboard! Eager to start out as a new girl in a new place~! That new place, Nirvani Island, held just as much fun as Zhi had expected of it. Well, the beginning was a little rocky, what with her first day at school ending in her having her a** kicked by some scrawny, timid girl in the same class, but it was probably for the best. Her pride was literally beaten down enough for her to lower her goals to just getting the romance she wanted, like any girl her age ought to be daydreaming about, and having a few friends. Elliot Park was her main buddy as she stuck with the girl through her high school years on Nirvani, though, admittedly, it was originally only because she had a huge crush on Elliot's older sister, River. Every sleepover and visit was normally with intentions to fantasize and watch the woman, not that Elliot seemed to mind much.
In the meantime, during the Masquerade that Zhi had ended up going due to some blackmail Alanis LeBlanc had hinted at, the girl ended up getting put into even deeper trouble by the LeBlanc as the murder attempts of that night had her prints all over them – truly! She never got arrested, but the blond had managed to get an easy way for an obedient minion. Zhi was reluctant at first, but, after awhile, she got used to it and even started to enjoy being in the top clique of the school, along with Kotone Tamaki and a panther (literally). She didn't mind be a right-hand to an even more powerful girl, as long as she got something from it and, really, she was more focused on River than anything. Which was going perfectly~! During a sleepover, the older woman had accidentally lead Zhi to believe that if she could get the money to support River and maybe add onto her experience, which, of course, had an impulsive girl dropping out after failing the last year of high school and running off to Japan to become a star. ..It didn't go as well as she had hoped and, in the end, she was forced to call her aunt in to help her get anywhere, but at least she had fame and popularity for a whole week before being labeled as yesterday's news! Oh, well, Li-Ling Lin, which was her stage name, got to put out one album and concert before she was forgotten – which was enough proof and profits to get Zhi her own apartment back in Nirvani!──────────────────────────────────── e t c . ──────────────────────────────────── L I K E S. . +++❤ Rats ❤ +++❤ Leeches ❤ +++❤ Clowns ❤ +++❤ Dressing Up ❤ +++❤ Limes ❤ +++❤ Swimming ❤ +++❤ River Park ❤ +++❤ Singing ❤ +++❤❤❤ Disney Movies ❤❤❤ +++❤❤❤ Caterpillars ❤❤❤

Pets
Zhi's leeches. She always keeps several ( 40-50 ) in a 10 gallon tank in her shed. They each have their own name, but whether she can actually tell them apart is up for one to decide. She does claim to remember them all, though.
