Personality: Cora is very relaxed. She tends to treat everything as if it'll get done in good time or that it's no big deal. She's terribly hard to offend, as she doesn't take half of what anyone says seriously. Though she's laid back, she almost always says what's on her mind. She's sarcastic, she's blunt, and she's got a critical eye. Despite this, she's surprisingly passive; she rarely takes action for her own sake and often comes off as unmotivated or lazy.
The truth of the matter is Cora is very much a supporter rather than an acter. She comes from a very large reaper family, with seven other siblings both older and younger than she is. Because of this she's very used to simply helping those that need it rather than going after anything she wants herself. When a friend is in need she will tell them if she disagrees with their decision. She'll be very very blunt about it too. But, she will offer her aid and support where she can, as long as it's not completely beyond her code of ethics.
If there is one thing Cora loves it's flying on her broomstick. Where on the ground she's mellow, in the air she's got so much energy and spunk that you might think that when she's grounded she's half asleep.
Overall, she's a pretty positive person despite the way she comments on things and is very curious about how things work. She likes to understand things and if she doesn't-don't be fooled!-she gets extremely frustrated and put off. She just doesn't want to let anyone believe something so trivial bothers her.
Why did they enroll at the academy? Cora didn't so much decide to come to the academy as abide by he family's decision to send her. Her parents and elder siblings noticed she had talent and thought it was best to send her to school where she could learn to use it to the best of her ability. The better trained she was, the better she could help support the family and its name. While Cora doesn't really care about succeeding herself, she doesn't want to let her family down. It helps that she has a healthy desire to understand, which usually leads to learning in one way or another.
Fear: Cora channels all her magic through her enchanted hat, which can take over the body of a living creature, control it, and alter it slightly through the bonding to become a quite frightening monster. Right now, however, she only has the skill to bond the hat with small animals such as mice, crows, and cats. Also, it is not unusual for the creature to run wild and disobey her, as her control is very weak at this stage.
Her Hat: Is enchanted. Aside from it being part of her fear ability, her eldest brother decided it would be a "great" idea to enchant the thing to give advice like he would. So now the hat chatters on and nags Coralie constantly about her decisions. Having found this rather annoying, she got the assistance of one of her sisters in putting a spell on the thing so it talks in a country accent. At least now it's more amusing and easier to ignore.
