Adani moved around the park in a silent and happy way. This seemed the perfect hunting ground for new "friends" to add to her growing collection. She kept her eyes out for any squirrels or birds that might be around and small enough to take home, but it seemed that she was here to early and most things were still asleep or hidden. As she was examining the roots of a tree for some clue as to where she could find something she heard a shrill note soon followed by a melody. She looked up, startled by the sudden noise in the quiet morning and debated weather or not she should investigate.

She was not a particularly brave type of person but the music was so soft and inviting that it seemed like it couldnt possibly be something to scary. She flicked her tail in the air and started to slowly go in the direction of the sounds. She was convincing herself the whole way that it had to be a bird, it just had to be, because people were scary and so only a bird could make such beautiful sounds. But when she reached the source of the sounds she saw a young boy. She froze in place when she saw him and of course was in full view of him. But like any small animal caught she couldnt not move and only stare.

Adani held herself just as still as her bird friends did in the pressence of a snake. She dared not move incase this boy was dangerous, she hadnt met to many people but she was young and shy and so everything had a dangerous edge to it. But when a wind came and unfurled what looked like butterfly wings on the boy Adani couldnt help but stare at them in wonder. She semi relaxed and turned all of her attention to his wings, marveling in their color and strange shape. She wanted to touch them, and if he had wings maybe he was a bird! A rather large bird but still, if he was a bird he was an acceptable specimen for her collection. This peaked her interest and she slowly turned from being afraid to wondering how to "catch" him.

But before she could tottaly relax he seemed to becon to her. This reminded her about his VERY human qualities and she felt the fear of not being worthy of such friends creep up on her again. However her greedy side was just to interested and so she slowly approached him and much to her dismay realized she would have to be the one to break the silence. She inched closer while still keeping a large distance in between herself and the boy and spoke in a soft voice. "H-h-hi..I d-d-didnt mean to....to bother you." she timidly stopped as her courage wore out about 20 feet away from the boy and so she stood there in sheer agony from her shyness.

Adani shuffled her feet and her hands and tail seemed to find each other and embrace like lost lovers. "Y-Your not bothering m-me, I like music." She shyed away from speaking for a moment and looked at the floor and her feet before gathering up a little more courage to speak again. "I like the music birds make...a-a-and, well thats what you sound like." She did indeed really love birds and this boys wings still peaked her interest. She allowed her eyes to wander up to those wings and wondered just how bird like they made him. They didnt look like the feathers she had, but still they were interesting and her greedy side wanted them, thus it wanted him to. If only she wasnt so shy!

Adani took a step closer before losing her nerve, at least she didnt step back, but she would have to wait and get a little more comfortable before she could attempt to get closer again. It was such a struggle for her, inside she wanted to go right up to him and see those wings, but her body would not obey, it was to scared. He didnt look to threatening but you could never know.

Her ears perked up and she blushed as he said he had never been told his music sounded like birds before. She found it embarrassing to be unique, she was just like everyone else, her humility would not let her feel special. "What were you playing? was it a real song or did you make it up?" she asked with curiosity. His wings fluttered behind him and she was for a second mesmerized, they were so colorful, she had never seen anything quite like them. They were wings almost like a butterfly but different, she couldnt quite say they were like a birds but they were interesting. She wanted to ask about them but she couldnt quite find the right question yet.

Adani leaned forward eagerly as he spoke about being able to make his own songs. It sounded like a wonderful talent, Adani was pretty sure she could never make music but she was definitely able to appreciate it. She listened intently to his short song and she found herself drifting a little closer to the boy. Her greedy side was beginning to come forward. This boy was such a prize. he had wings, he made song, it was amazing no matter how hard she tried to distance herself from her greedy side this boy was just bringing it out of her.

She drifted a little closer and stared at the boys instrument. "Is that what makes the music? what is it?" Adani allowed her gaze to linger on the instrument since it was so strange. She suddenly realized how rude she had been this whole time and before her humility could come back and cause her to get shy again her greedy side pushed it down and started up regular conversation. "Oh I forgot, I'm Adani, nice to meet you." she smiled shyly and did a small curtsy like she had always been taught.

Adani reached her hand out to take the instrument, an ocarina he had called it. But just as her fingers brushed its surface she slowly retracted her hand. She didnt trust herself to handle such a beautiful thing. It was obviously very important to the boy and she didnt want to hurt it. She hadn't ever seen one in her life before and she was afraid of breaking it. "N-n-no its okay, I can just look at it....ocarina..." she said its name to hear how it sounded coming from her own mouth. It was a pretty word and she had to admit she loved it.

"How do you play it? what makes the sound?" Adani was curious. She had never seen music being made in person before. Well except for her birds but they usually didnt answer her questions in ways she could understand. now that she had someone here she wanted to get everything she could.

"You whistle? I can do that." Adani said in an excited whisper. She had figured out how to whistle from listening to the birds and watching people in the park. She practiced so often that she had a few bird calls perfect enough that she could coax inexperienced birds out into the open. It didnt quite work with older birds yet...

She pursed her lips together and whistled a bird call to show that she could whistle. "Like that? you just whistle into the ocarina and a note comes out?" Adani asked. It seemed strange that it would have holes since whistling could have its own notes to. She looked sideways at the instrument and brushed her tail feathers against her arm as she thought.Not being able to figure it out she just had to ask. "But if you whistle the different notes why do you use the holes to make the notes?" She continued to stare at the ocarina in fascination.
