[R/B?] This katamari is far too small! (Nova, Atlas)

Sometimes Sailor Atlas couldn't believe his timing... or, at least, the timing fate seemed to impose on him. Right in the middle of autumn last year he'd been chased by a youma, met a senshi and then turned into one by a talking cat whom he was still somewhat convinced had made a terrible lapse in judgment in doing so. He'd wanted to quit and give back the pen right away -- but lo and behold, one of his classmates had turned out to be one too, so he ended up getting dragged outside to patrol all through the winter. And winter was cold, and his fuku and its chafing shorts were not built for that sort of weather. It was a miracle he never got frostbite or pneumonia.

And then spring came. And then he was powered up to the next level, and earned some much-coveted pants for his trouble. Just in time for summer.

The shivering and growing addiction to bus station vending machine hot chocolate was instantly replaced by sweating, legitimate fear of heat stroke and an almost worshipful appreciation for the cheap fountain drinks you could get at the gas station stores. It always gave the clerks a reason to double-take when he'd walk in, fully henshined, and buy one with a linty handful of change dug out of his shoe. He missed winter. And now that he was dressed to suit cold weather a little better, maybe the next one wouldn't be quite as bad.

It was still hard to believe that he had been doing this senshi thing for almost a year.

Winter wasn't quite on the horizon yet, but the air around Destiny City was cooling, gradually; now they were experiencing warm, breezy days and chilly nights. For the first time in a long time, the uniform was comfortable to wear again -- which meant it was just a little bit more appealing to go out on patrol. The view from the rooftops was nice if you didn't think about what might be lurking or marching around beneath them. Atlas jogged and leapt across them with no real route or destination in mind, a bit zoned out by the monotony and relative silence.

Nova might have three skirts while henshined, but none of them would even be considered a skirt on their own. She tended to skirt corners these days; it only took a single instance of being mistaken for a hooker for her to consider covering herself with a heavy cloak wherever she went.

But then she'd look really conspicuous, even more than she did now.

The route she took was the same she had been running for a very long time-- had any negaverse operatives bothered to pay attention, she would probably be dead now. Or. Dead-er, considering her past. But that was back in the old days, when it was a handful of people fighting against one another. These days? You were more likely to run in to trouble around the next corner than have them actively search you out.

And Nova turned a corner and ran in to a very tall, somewhat squishy beanpole.

Familiar.

This situation was bizarrely familiar. As Atlas instinctively brought his hands up to the shorter senshi's shoulders so she'd have an easier time getting stabilized, he couldn't help but feel like he was having an extreme case of deja vu. To be fair, being a tall, somewhat clumsy guy meant that running into shorter girls and probably almost knocking them over wasn't that rare an occurrence -- being a tall male senshi meant that it was a surprise this sort of thing didn't happen more often.

But still, he almost wanted to say he'd run into this one before even though he couldn't recall any looking like her off the top of his head.

"S-sorry," he apologized, and backed up a few steps to give her back her personal space. "Are you okay?"

Nova was not particularly clumsy, so she managed to stay on her feet, though was glad of the hands that came to steady her, just in case! She wasn't used to really running in to many people, even though she knew that their number, the senshi's number, had exponentially exploded.

"It's ok, I'm ok," Nova had a sudden urge to pet his head and try to find his owner; he was sort of semi cringing, and Nova didn't really know what to say in order to stop him from looking like he was the one that had run in to her.

"I'm Sailor Nova-- well, Eternal Sailor Nova, if we're going to be precise. I've been around... for a long time. And my reputation probably proceeds me, I was involved in some dark stuff. And not like, gawth stuff."

Nova was nattering.

"Er. That's who I am. Who are you?"

Sailor Nova... wait a minute. Wasn't that the senshi who'd gotten corrupted and died? Atlas's jaw gaped a bit unflatteringly for a secong, until he noticed the cool air passing into his mouth and snapped it that shut. She was alive, then? How was that even possible? He hadn't heard of senshi having any special resurrection powers, so he was understandably baffled.

"Er," and he shuffled his feet a bit, "S-super Sailor Atlas. I've been around for a... a year or so, I think. So..."

He trailed off again. The look on his face pretty much said it all though.

I am pretty sure you are supposed to be dead, what the hell.
