In the middle of a forest sat a small lake of water. There was a nice opening around the lake with a few mossy rocks that sat at the edge of the lake. It was midday and the sun was shinning bright.
Chaos sat on one of the rocks, his feet in the lake. "Such a nice day, and such nice clean water."

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | Chuunin"Peaceful, isn't it?" Kenji's voice could be heard as he came out of the forest, his presence almost completely masked within it due to his heritage and bond with nature. He could tell just by being near chaos that he was an interesting person, but he felt a strange discomfort around the man, despite his seemingly peaceful attitude. Keeping his distance, Kenji walked up to the lake crouching down at it's edge as he reached in and felt the cool water against his hands, enjoying the touch, feel, temperature and everything else about it as it began to migrate and swim around his hand at his whim.
"Then again, water always does seem to be peaceful... at least when undisturbed." Kenji knew water well... he had been instinctively connected to it for his entire life and was most comfortable when near a lake, or running river, stream, or waterfall. He knew however that water was not a force only to be admired, but feared for what it could accomplish when set against something. Nothing was more fierce, or relentless then a rushing stream of water, unwavering, unbreakable as it crashed up against whatever it was standing in it's way. All it ever needed was time to carve through mountains, or crash through trees... a never ending onslaught of force hidden behind peaceful serenity.
Looking over towards Chaos, Kenji stood up and faced the man, trying to understand what he was doing here. "How terribly impolite of me." he said apologetically... "My name is Soryuu Kenji." Bowing low enough to show respect, yet keep eyes on the stranger, Kenji flashed a friendly smile before getting to what was the real purpose for his introduction. "...and who might you be?... and why are you here?"
"Always to protect...never to harm."

"My Name is Rejiko Jimetsuogi, though I am mostly known by the name Chaos of the False Bound God." Chaos stood up and looked at his foe with cold eyes. "Though none of that matters now. Today will be the last day you draw breath." With those words a Naginata shot out from under Chaos's right cloak sleeve and into his hand. "Let the game begin." He said as he jumped down off the rock making a loud noise as his feet hit the ground as if he was about two half his own weight.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninOf all the things Kenji would expect as a response, a threat that this would be 'The last day he would draw breath' was not even in the running. As he watched the naginata come out of the man's sleeve, seamlessly into his hand, his instincts awakened and his heart rate jumped as his adrenaline flowed through him, kicking him into a heightened state of awareness. as the man leapt off the rock, Kenji jumped back and away from him, landing just to the side of lake on a few moss-covered rocks. Placing his hand on the hilt of his weapon, Kenji moved into a defense stance, not attacking, but remaining ready for whatever might come.
As the man landed and the ground shook beenath his feet, Kenji was surprised and somewhat frightened by the man's imposing size and seemingly hefty frame. He knew he was here to fight someone, but this was not what he had planned... this was supposed to be a tournament, not a death match. 'Hey, hey... calm down my friend. If you wish to battle, I can understand, this is a tournament after all... but there is no reason to fight to the death. Surely you wouldn't dream of ending someone's life without any cause..." Somehow however, Kenji already knew what the man's response might be. Seeing him standing tall, weapon in hand, and an intent to kill in his eye, the odd feeling he got from the man earlier was amplified into an extreme sense of danger. He would not make the first move though. regardless of what his opponent's intent might be, he would not betray himself and start a fight.

"I have ended many lives by my hand and by my command. The lives of you inferiors matters nothing to me. But I digress..." Chaos said as he pulled a white fruit out of his robe with his left hand. After taking a bite of the fruit Chaos tossed it to the side, it suddenly vanishing under the earth. "Do not worry boy, I will show you great mercy." Chaos cold glare turned into a crazed smile as he suddenly began to laugh. "Our game shall be vastly enjoyable."

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninKenji didn't really know what to think about the person in front of him... he seemed like an absolute lunatic. "Who does he think he is, referring to me or others as inferiors? What does he even know about me... as if it mattered. To place yourself in an automatically assumed superiority for any reason is wrong. No matter how strong you are, or how much more capable you are then someone else... it doesn't make you superior. I'll be happy to wipe that smug little attitude out of him." Kenji didn't move however, he simply continued to wait to see if this foe would attack. If he was just going to stand around all day and talk about people's inferiority or try to strike fear into Kenji's heart with his comments of how many he had killed, it wouldn't work, and it certainly wouldn't make Kenji make the first move.
Watching the man bite into the strange fruit and then toss it aside. Given his own abilities to utilize components of nature, he thought it may be a setup to something else, but it could have just as easily been done for the man's own self-deluded dramatic effect. Either way, Kenji would avoid that spot if possible. "Well then, you must be so proud of yourself. Killing others for no reason... making threats to terrorize people, apparently you don't even have to be present to carry out your hatred. And yet, you still haven't attacked. What's the matter Rejiko?... afraid an inferior might show you just how deluded you are?"
"I don't need your mercy, nor would I ever ask for it from somewhat with your attitude on life. Let's see how much fun you have after I knock you unconscious." Now fully committed to the fight, Kenji was intent to do his best. Whether or not he could win, he didn't know, but he would fight with all he had to defy this man's principles which were opposed to everything Kenji had ever felt.
"Always to protect...never to harm."

Chaos just stood there smiling as his opponent spoke to him. Chaos continued to chuckle as his foe spoke to him. "You will have to excuse me but I have a tendency to observe and wait. You are free to stand there all you want but it might be more advantageous to make your move, since I have already made mine."
Excellent... His own attitude is working to my advantage. My network will require time to grow and it looks like he will give me all the time I need. How amusing... Chaos pointed his Naginata at his foe. "Or are you to afraid yourself to attack? Here you speak of knocking me unconscious but to do that you must attack."

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninFor a man bent on killing him and who was flaunting his superiority in terms of how many others he had killed, or had a part in killing, Kenji's opponent wasn't being that aggressive. Staring at the man, Kenji started to wonder just what he was planning to do when he suddenly felt something odd run up his spine. He knew the feeling well, it was built into his very being... something was growing nearby and was doing so quickly. With his tie to the earth and to nature, Kenji had no doubt that something odd was at hand, as it was not typical either. The growth he felt through the earth was tainted somewhat, his body tingling with a sense of discomfort as he probed the landscape with his empathic link to his surroundings.
Just as he had suspected, vines were beginning to sprout beneath the earth and grow around his opponent, it's epicenter being formed at the spot where the piece of fruit had been discarded. And now, even more then ever, he could sense something was off with this opponent as he grew more and more uncomfortable with his presence. Whatever this feeling was however, it would have to wait to be fully probed as the network of vines was continuing to grow beneath the man, creating a dangerous lattice which his opponent would likely use to lash out against him.
"If he can create them, he can control them... luckily for me, he has no way of knowing I can detect them. Vines I can deal with though, the question is how will he use them. If he employs the same tactics as used in my homeland, the vines would be meant to restrict only, but something tells me this man's use would be more sinister. regardless Kenji, stay on your guard" Monitoring the vine's growth carefully, Kenji didn't move in his stance at all as he refused to betray anything about himself to this man before the fight could begin. "Already made your move huh? Well, you'll have to excuse me, but where I'm from, making a speech before producing a weapon and jumping down off of a rock doesn't really qualify as 'Making a Move'. Typically, we call that 'Being full of Hot Air.'"

Chaos chuckled a bit at his foes words. They made Chaos chuckle a bit as he spoke. "You are rather passive aren't you? That is something I am not use to. By now I would of excepted my foe to break into a full attack. You greatly amuse me..." Chaos wondered why his opponent didn't attack him. If he doesn't attack then I don't have much to worry about. I can let my vines grow in peace. I wonder if he has a blood line?
Chaos's foe would quickly begin to feel something else within Chaos. The fact that Chaos's entire body was actually demon vines. All but a small seed like core within Chaos was entirely vines. It was what made Chaos such a deadly foe. His greatest weapon was his own body not the vines he planted in the earth.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninEven after everything, the man was remaining motionless, much to Kenji's surprise. In the end however, it made sense. If he was able to grow vines beneath him in a network with something as benign as a discarded piece of fruit, the longer his opponent waited, all the better for him. Kenji was just lucky he was one of the few people who would be able to detect such a thing in the earth. However, it was to his advantage to wait as he was gradually learning more and more about his opponent as he watched him. Something was bothering him more and more as he looked at this man however... something in the pit of his stomach began to feel queasy and then grew from there to leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Something wasn't right about this man... and it was impacting Kenji in a way only a Soryuu would feel.
"What is this feeling?... it's like my body is becoming sick in his presence, just as if nature itself in the area was suffering." The more he dwelled on it, the more he began to realize that the vine network he was growing wasn't normal... it was corrupted somehow... unnatural. Then, as if something suddenly hit him, Kenji realized that not only the vines were corrupted, but so was his opponent. As soon as he realized the two were practically the same, he could suddenly see it through his bloodline and could sense his opponent wasn't what he seemed... "He's not even human... he's just a corruption of nature incarnate."
Anger began to swell up in Kenji as he realized what the "man" standing in front of him was... an abomination against nature. His demeanor instantly shifted as his eyes somewhat darkened and a scowl ran across his face under his mask. "I am a Soryuu Clan member... I live to protect nature from it's enemies. to allow this man to live would be an affront to all I believe. I must end him." His grip tightening on his weapon, Kenji's mind raced as he calculated multiple possibilities as to what to do. "If he is composed of vines... those will be his main weapon... and their corruption would likely add to their danger. He would probably like this to be a long range fight, but I have ti remove him from any advantage he may have."
"I think Ive waited long enough..." Still holding his blade, Kenji quickly made a few one handed seals quickly before stretching out his arm, pointing his fingers out towards his opponent. A glimmer of light flashed off of the blade within it's scabbard and flowed through Kenji's arm as electricity began to build up streaming through his arm and down to his outstretched hand as it flowed and collected there. Then in a burst, streams of electricity flowed from his hand, one from each finger aimed directly at his opponent, hoping that it would be sudden enough to catch the man off guard and stun him for a follow up attack. "The seed must be the key... if I could only unearth it from the vines..."

"Amusing..." Chaos said as he saw Kenji unleash his attack. Each attack struck Chaos making him take a step back as the attacks hit him. Yet despite that Chaos seemed rather unphased. Smoke was emerging from the holes in his cloak but the holes were quite thick but not wide. "Sorry but this cloak is a hundred pounds of protective cloth. Unlike most foes who use their speed, I relay on my pure defensive ability." Chaos smiled a bit as he looked at his foe. "Though, I must admit that hurt a bit. But now I know you can use lightning. Hehehe..."
It has been far to long since I have faced a foe who can use such an element. I am unsure how I will be able to handle him. My cloak can resist weaker attacks but the pure concentrated power and speed of that element will be a hassle. Unlike earth and water, it doesn't do overall blunt like damage. Nor does it do spread and continuous damage like fire. Though it lacks the flow and slicing power of wind. Overall it is the most pin point damaging element. Yet, if I can predict its path I can use my Demon Vine Defense to null most of the damage. A better question is what other elements he might control. I need to see more of what he can do before I can strike.
"Come on boy, is that it? I expected more!"

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninWatching as his attack shot towards his opponent, Kenji was shocked to see that the man did not even attempt to get out of the way of the attack. He simply let it comes as the electricity flowed into the dense cloak, only recoiling slightly to the jutsu's effect before rattling off an insult and an explanation. Kenji really didn't know what to make of his foe, except that to say despite his offensive persona and the bitterness Kenji already had for him, he could not simply rush forward at him. If he was truly a defensive ninja as he said, as it seemed to be, charging forward would only exhaust Kenji while it only scratched him.
"Ingenious really. He plants the seed in the ground, allows those monstrosity of vines to grow and then just stands there, mocking his opponent and absorbing attacks until his network is complete." Knowing that he couldn't simply wait for such a thing to happen, Kenji relaxed his position, taking his hand off his weapon as he began to pace from side to side, looking at his opponent, watching him and developing a strategy. Reaching behind him, he reached into his back pouch, pulling out a kunai, but also concealing several small seeds in his hand as he twirled the kunai around as a distraction.
"So that's it huh? Just gonna stand there and absorb attacks huh? You are easily the most boring opponent I've ever fought... that's for sure." As Kenji said this, still twirling his kunai and pacing, he dropped a series of small seeds around him, using the momentum of the kunai to bat some of them further away, creating a good range of scattered seeds all around him. Being that the seeds were his, and due to his Bloodline, he could sense everyone of them, and he took note of the two which were furthest from each other, mapping the line between them as he noted the patterns of the remaining eight or so scattered about.
"I guess it only leaves me one option..." Whipping his hand behind him quickly, Kenji dipped his hand into his pouch nimbly, his fingers wrapping around a series of shuriken and kunai as he quickly launched his hands forward, releasing a volley of about 3 kunai and 3 shuriken aimed directly at his opponent. He doubted this would yield much, but it might teach him a little more about his opponent. If his opponent wouldn't move, the least he could do was feel him out with as little actual effort as possible and try to set up what h could himself.

Chaos smirked a bit at his foes words. "Yes, the start of my fights tend to be a bit boring. Though, normally I am sent flying half way across a battlefield by now. I'm kinda disappointed I didn't get any frequent flier miles." Chaos chuckled a bit but stopped suddenly as he felt something different. Chaos, despite being a monstrosity of the plant world, had a strong feeling with plants. He had forsakened using other plants but he could still feel the plants around him and he sensed a new plants in the area.
Interesting... My network isn't up fully so I can't start draining the energy from nearby plant life, nor can I draw it from he soil yet. No matter, even if he can also use plants he can't match my vines once they are fully developed.
Chaos didn't move as Kenji threw his projectiles. He simply raised up his arm to block his face as he was struck. After the projectiles struck he lowered his arm and shook his head. "Sorry but like I said this cloak is thick enough to null most smaller projectiles and lower class jutsu." Though what Chaos didn't mention was the second and third layer of armor under his cloak. The full body belted outfit underneath the cloak allowed him to reduce slashing damage considerably and his false skin jutsu add armor against blunt and concussion attacks. Then with his every moving vines and Demon Vine defense jutsu, Chaos was a walking tank. A slow tank, but a tank none the less.

Soryuu KenjiNameless Village | Nature's Guard | ChuuninThis opponent was getting annoying the more Kenji had to sit and watch him simply stand there. Still however, even after hearing his remarks to the effect that his projectiles would be of no use, Kenji did not lose hope. As the corrupted vines continued to grow underground and defile more of the land, Kenji began to feel somewhat queasy as more and more he was being affected by the tainting of nature around him. "Tsscchh... need to do something fast here before this gets much worse. clearly an external attack isn't the way to go here... but..."
Kenji was almost ashamed that he hadn't thought of this before, but the very feeling which was making him sick was also his calling. Kicking himself for not having considered it early, Kenji knew that if the land was being corrupted for this man's technique his job was the same as it always had been, to use his chakra to push back the rot. Having not seen the man produce any vines yet, Kenji figured he was safe as he looked at the man, but made no response to his taunts. Not knowing what to expect as retaliation,he decided his next moves should be quick.
With several of his seeds already scattered, Kenji quickly launched into a series of hand seals before planting his hands palms down on the ground, his hands covering two of the seeds he had dropped which immediately sprouted into the ground and began to grow at incredible speeds underground, quickly forging a path through the earth towards the corrupted area. As the vines neared the corrupted lands, Kenji could feel what was happening to the earth in the area and could even feel his own vines suffering as they approached the growing network, but he pushed them into the infestation.
Just as they plowed into the infested network growing around Chaos, Kenji then lifted his hands off the ground, bringing with them each a long vine. Flashing through another set of hand seals, the vines then began to glow with a green shimmering chakra. "Ametsuchi Saisei no Jutsu" As the words were spoken, the technique his people had passed down through the ages flowed through the vines, the shimmering green energy passing through the vines, nourishing and refreshing them as they brought health and life to the earth as it passed by.
Colliding with the infestation his opponent had created, Kenji was unsure if this plan would work, but knew that it had to have some effect. The Ametsuchi Saisei technique had been passed down for thousands of years by his clan as the ultimate technique used to care for and heal the earth and the forest. As the shimmering green energy met the infested network of vines, Kenji hoped that it would spread quickly, healing the corrupted zone and pushing back on the demonic vines, hoping perhaps that it might even eradicate them, or harm Chaos in the process.
It at least stood to reason to Kenji, that if he was negatively impacted by such an infestation of nature, his opponent, who seemed to be infested himself might be harmed by the regenerative powers his people had passed down through the centuries. it might also buy him even more time by pushing back any progress his opponent had made in preparing his attacks, or even force his opponent to move where Kenji might have even more opportunities to overcome him. Only time would tell however how these two forces would collide as Kenji focused his chakra and the energy flowing through the vines, ready to combat any situation that arose.
"Always to protect...never to harm."

"Demon Vines, Forsaken Corruption." Chaos said in retaliation of his foes attack. This was a unique situation for Chaos for this was the first time any foe had attacked his network directly using their chakara. This was the same tactic Chaos would employ with his corruption but his foe was using a different type of chakara. One that was similar yet somewhat opposite than his. So Chaos would handle it the way he thought would be best.
His foes life chakara would quickly be countered and overwhelmed by Chaos's forsaken chakara. Unlike most people Chaos's chakara corrupted and plagued all that came in contact with it. Better yet was while his foe restored the life to the earth around Chaos's vines, the vines would simply absorb more nutriments and combined with being pumped with Chaos's chakara they would begin to grow rapidly.
