Autumn, the season of change, where the leaves turn to shades of red and orange and the world prepares for the coming of winter. Through the dense woods a single angeni walked, her silver and dark grey wings contrasting the vibrant orange and red leaves of the trees around her. It was almost a year ago that she walked in a winter wonderland and sang of Stallion Winter. Now there was no song in her heart; her sons were grown and she had left the stallion she believed she loved. The mare had discovered that stallion had loved another; that fact broke the mare’s heart.
When the North Wind called to her, she left the stallion, followed by her two sons; together they traveled with the North Wind until the day had come when they became adults and left their mother to form their own path in the world. Isabliss missed her sons, but she knew that they were accomplishing great deeds.
The sun rose higher, turning morning into afternoon; it was still warn, winter had not yet taken its hold on the world. Isabliss let the afternoon sun soak into her feathers, it warmed her heart and lifter her spirits. The North Wind was quiet and would be for forty nights, for Isabliss had yet to explore the land and meet its inhabitants.
She stopped moving and stood still, her silver eyes gazing out before her; a vast gorge laid in front of her, sedimentary layers revealing the years locked in dirt. Plants of different colors grew within the multitude of cracks on the ravine’s walls; the angeni closed her eyes and listened, soon she was able to hear the soft trickling of the river far below.

It was some time now that Turag left forest where mother of his two sons lived followed by one of his teenage sons. That young lad was young male now. And although he showed high interest in traveling he lacked interest for learning. Turag caught him not once not paying attention to what he was saying. Just like this moment right now. '' Son? Pay attention. '' ... '' Son?! '' ... '' Svart! '' Svart turned his head in his fathers direction. He wasn't happy for having to leave point of his interest. He stormed through everything he heard his father say but found that it was all so blurry to make any seance of it.
'' Yes father. I'm present and listening. ''Turag raised one of his eye brows. '' Really? Tell me what was I talking about? '' When he only got a smile as answer he sighted. He wondered where has the young boy full of questions disappeared to. He was well aware that Svart was adult now and for some strange reason it made him a bit sad. Soon there will come time for him to leave his father and choose his own way in life. This was the main reason why he was trying to teach him as much as he could. '' Child there are important things you need to know about life and dangers that hide. ''Svart shook his head trying not to let his mind fly away again.
'' Yes father. ''Turag sighted again before stopping in place. Far in front of them stood a familiar shilouethe Turag wasn't expected to see any time soon. Blinking few times to make sure his eyes were not deceiving him Turag didn't hear that his son was speaking to him. Because he wasn't paying attention to where he was going Svart almost bumped into his father.
'' Father? What's wrong? '' ... '' Father? ''
When he didn't get any answer Svart tried to figure out what his father was looking at with not much luck.

Where she stood she could hear any who approach, unless they were skilled at walking with silent hooves. She had not been standing on the ravine edge for long when she heard the sound of two male voices; one seemed more matured, deeper and it caused a small twinge of memory in the where. Where had she heard that voice before?
Her mind shifted through memories trying to place the face to the voice; then one voice stood out from all the rest. Could it really be him? Before she could make the decision to search for the stallions, they came out of the woods behind her. Isabliss was still facing the ravine when she heard one set of hooves stop suddenly, while the other set continued on for a few seconds more; surprise filled the mare when the younger stallion called the older one father. Time sure does change those that dwell in this world, who would have thought that the two of them would meet up again and both of them be parents? When they had first met, the idea of children had not come up in conversation, for it had not been on any one’s mind.
Isabliss turned around and gave a welcoming smile to the wise blue wind she had met almost a year before. Her sadness was forgotten, it was a joyous moment to be able to see a stallion you were unsure you would ever see again.
“Hello Turag, it is a pleasure to see you again.” The angeni mare bowed her head to the wind.

All doubts Turag might have had disappeared once mare spoke. He knew that voice and it could only belong to Isabliss. Memories of the cold winter night and a pleasant talk they had became so vivid it seemed to him it happened just yesterday. His heart jumped from joy and for a second the whole world stopped. A soft smile appeared on his face and he bowed to greet angeni.
'' The pleasure is all mine. ''
Svart caught a spark in his father's eye. And the fact that Turag didn't introduce him to angeni mare made him feel left out. Who was this mysterious lady.
'' Ahem... ''
Pretending to clear his throat Svart looked at his father from side bit worried and still confused. At least she didn't look dangerous and it seemed the two knew each other. With a smile he bowed his head to properly greet mare.
'' Oh... ''
Turag was quickly brought back to earth feeling bad for forgetting to introduce Isabliss and his son.
'' Where are my manners. Isabliss this my son Svart. ''
Looking at his son with apology in his eyes.
'' Son this is an old acquaintance of mine from before you were born, Isabliss. ''

Silver eyes took in the wise blue stallion, nothing had changed externally, Turag still looked as he did on that snowy day, “The year had been kind you,” she said with a smile and then turned her silvery gaze to the wind’s son, “It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Svart.”
The grey angeni bowed her head to the young stallion, and then took in his appearance. Svart looked much like his father, almost the same coloring; the son was just a shade lighter. Both stallions had the same medium length shaggy mane and the younger had some of his father’s markings near his hooves. Svart’s ears were nothing like his fathers, they were unlike any Isabliss had seen on her travels, perhaps a trait of his mothers? The angeni mused to herself, what do others think when they see me with my sons? Do they make comparisons and try to find the similarities between us?
“It is a surprise to see you Turag, might I ask, what brings you to this part of the woods?” She did not know if the stallion lived nearby or if he was traveling like she was. The current location of the three soquili was nowhere near the snowy forest where Turag and Isabliss had their first encounter.

'' Yes it has been. I have one more son but he stayed by his mother. ''
While Svart resembled his father his brother looked more like his mother. Only traits that young Yaoth inherited from his father was color of his eyes, few markings and wings. Which made Turag happy for at least one of his sons will learn joy of being able to fly. And feeling of freedom that ability brings.
'' As for us too. We have been traveling ever since Svart was old enough to join me in my search for knowledge. ''
While he was speaking he looked for every detail he could remember on her. She too hadn't changed. Still being as lovely as he remembered. Only her eyes looked bit different, older. They made Turag wonder what had happened in her life. Was it from happy or sad memories or has she found answers to some vital questions he was looking for.
'' You haven't changed a bit. What wonderful places has the wind shown you in this past year? ''
'' It is nice to meet you too. ''
Svart replied as he admired angeni's beauty. Svart already had chance to meet some other Soquili his father knew from way back in his past but Isabliss was the beautifullest he saw till now.
As Turag mentioned Yaotl, Svart couldn't help himself not to think what his brother was doing now or where his path took him. He always thought he was fool for staying behind in that old forest while the world was waiting on them to explore it. He never regret leaving with his father but he did miss Yaotl from time to time. After all he couldn't share with him what he learned or saw.

“Oh? That must be nice, do your sons get to see each other often?” Isabliss’ thoughts went to her own to sons, wondering where in the world they were now. Her life had been filled with constant travels ever since she was born and it had continued even after the births of her two sons; she knew that traveling constantly was hard on her children and she would not be surprised if they disliked her because of it. But now they knew the freedom of traveling and exploring the world, so perhaps she did some good as a mother. The angeni mare smiled at the father and son, “How is that search going? Have you gained many wonderful insights?”
Isabliss’ mind went back to the many memories that she had created in the past year, “The North Wind had shown me many places, on my journey I have become a mother of two sons, who are off making their name in this world,” Isabliss gave a soft smile then her eyes became sad, her tone was quiet and her words barely above a whisper, “Does that make me a bad mother that I do not even know where my two sons are?” With a shake of her head, she removed her sadness and smiled to the young wingless stallion, then the grey angeni bowed her head to Svart. He seemed polite, just like his father, “Are you enjoying your travels Svart?”

Turag wished he could say yes but the truth was that since they left the forest where mother of his sons along with his other son lived they never went back. And this was probably the first moment Turag felt not so good about that fact. And he promised to him self he shall go there again one of these days. Though it will not be for Erendira but for his son Yoath.
'' No... we haven't went back since we left the forest. ''
He took a small pause before answering her next question.
'' As for our travels besides seeing some new beautiful places I am no closer to finding out answer to my biggest question. ''
Turag was surprised when Isabliss said she had sons. This actually revealed a strange reaction to it that he wasn't even aware he could have. And he couldn't deny to him self that he was a bit jealous on stallion that was their father.
'' I see no reason why you should be a bad mother. If your sons are ready to set out into the world by themselves than you have done your parent task well. ''
All that two adults said made Svart think about times he had while he traveled with his father. Yes it wasn't pleasant always and he didn't always like it. More than anything he missed his brother and his mother. But he also understood why his father left. His mother could be quite strange individual in times. And when he looked at this subject in whole he found that if he had one more chance to do his most important decision he would do the same thing. His travels might not have always been pleasant but they were worth all the effort and sacrifices he had to make.
'' Yes. Yes I am. They have been much educational. ''

Pale grey eyes gazed at the dark winged stallion, she could sense that he wished to see his other son again, for she at times had the same look upon her countenance, “I see, and a long journey it has been since then I am guessing. Perhaps one day, our sons will meet,” Isabliss smiled at the prospect, her own sons befriending the sons of the stallion who is one of her closest friends. She tilted her head to the side as she considered his words, wondering and trying to remember if he mentioned a year ago his search for an allusive answer, “Which question are you trying to answer Turag? I hope you did not tell me this a year ago, for if you have, I am apologetic to say that I have now forgotten the question.”
She gave Turag a soft smile, “Thank you my dear friend, your words put my heart at ease.” It felt as if a weight was removed from her chest, it was not until that moment did she realize the extent of her guilt that she had regarding her sons and how she raised them. “You too, have done your parent task well, Svart is a dashing young stallion.” She turned her smile to Turag’s son, “I can only imagine how interesting and educational your journeying has been, what was the most fascinating part?”

Turag thought about possibility of their sons meeting each other, and as much as it sounded like a great thing to happen, somehow it seemed not so likely to happen. But than again this land isn't endless. Perhaps they do meet at some point not even knowing who their parents are.
'' The eternal question of meaning of life. ''
And for a moment his thoughts flew away to that winter day when they first met.
'' The more time passes the farther the question to it seems. ''
'' Most fascinating parts of our journeys are finding small details that make places we visit special. There s always something new and unknown that we stumble upon. ''
Svart wondered if he will see all the wonders of these lands in his lifetime or are they infinite.

Isabliss’ eyes sparkled at his answer, there had been many times she had contemplated the question, but she had never sought out the solution, “The ever evasive answer of the meaning of life, I am sure you will come across the answer when you least expect it; that is usually how the universe works.” Images of a snow covered tree filled landscape flashed through the mare’s mind, the two of them had discussed much on that day and yet the question of life had never been brought up. “Or maybe the answer is all around us and we just have not figured it out yet?” Life was all around them, so why would not the answer be within that life?
“Svart, you have the traveler spirit about you,” Isabliss smiled at the stallion, “Is that not what makes traveling exhilarating? The unknown aspect of where you will travel next.”

'' Yes. Yes it does. So much that even dangers that await the travellers can be ignored. ''
He could remember few times they found themselves in not so comfortable situations. Yet they always seemed to find some way to save their skins. Still if he got a chance to do it all again he would have made same decisions.
Up until now he managed to get away with only few scratches and bruises. What the future holds for him he did not know but he was sure he would boldly walk forward.
Turag smiled as he listened to his son. Yes he was young and bit naive and foolish. Still he could see himself in Svart. He too was like that when he was of his age. These days he makes his decisions bit more carefully. It is something his son will have to learn how to do by himself. For now he has his father who looks after him and makes sure that his steps do not lead him in too dangerous situations.
'' Our youth still has a lot to learn. ''
Svart felt like a small foal when his father spoke his remark. He wished he could acknowledge him as a grown up individual that he was. How long was he going to treat him as a foal.
'' Father you are bit over protective at times... ''

Isabliss smiled, knowing that there was truth and experience behind his words, “I am sure you possess a quick wit that is used to accompany you out of those dangerous situations.” It was lovely talked to Svart and his father, it was making her fell less of a terrible mother for never letting her children settle down in once place when they were growing up. If what Svart is saying is true, those experiences have helped her sons grow into the well versed adventurous stallions that they are today.
The Angeni turned her gaze and smile to the young stallion’s father, “They do, but we also have much to learn from them as well. You and your son have taught me an important lesson today and for that I am very grateful.” She bowed her head to Turag.
“Just wait until you have children of your own Svart and you will understand why your father is overprotective. Most parents are, we just want what is best for our children.” Isabliss gave a smile to both father and son, “Although I cannot speak for your father, but the reason I just gave is why I am overprotective of my sons.”
