Hoaka strode confidently through the pride lands, the lion was settling in quite nicely in his new home. There of course was changes that he had to deal with. He wasn't use to the idea of colors being better then others. In this case it was the light colors that were the best. And of course there was this whole sight thing. Hoaka had never met a seer before coming here and now he was surrounded by them.
As Hoaka strolled he hummed to himself. He wasn't sure what he was going to do with the rest of the day, he was still so new to the pride that he hadn't really made friends yet it was kind of lonely here in the pride as a resault.

Nkiruka was far from lonely, though her time in the Pride was just as short. She had her siblings, she had her Partner in Awesome, and if all else failed she had her unfailing self esteem and a mountain of crazy adventures going on in her head that was only matched by her high energy. But, right now, she was sleeping. Passed out cold. She wasn't quite a cub anymore, but she was still subject to nap attacks; it also didn't help that she was a Lion. Lions slept a lot.
However, nap time was nearly over, and the dark cubbed was waking up, albeit slowly. Groggy gray eyes opened, and the first thing she saw was something pink in the distance. It was a brighter pink. Conclusions were drawn. It had to be Io!
Without taking note of the darker purples, the lack of white and red, or the sudden height difference, Ruka slipped off of her napping spot and crouched low in the grass, a little less gracefully than she intended but hey, she was still sleepy! It wasn't until she was closer to the pink thing did she take note of the purple, and the height.
"Heeeeey! You're not Io!" Suddenly sitting up with a loud wail of dismay apparent in her voice, Ruka puffed up some air to her tuft of black hair. Then, within seconds, she seemed over it, and padded closer to the big guy without an ounce of fear in her little body. "Whattcha humming?"

Hoaka turned whne he heard the little voice he hadn't realized another one was so close to him. He turned and smiled, a young cub stuood next to him. "You are quite right young one, I am not Io." Hoaka wasn't quite sure who Io was but he could guess that t was one of this little ones siblings.
"You know I am not quite sure what I am humming, just an odd tune I have stuck in my head at the moment. I am Hoaka by the way, and who might you be little one?" he asked sitting down so he was closer to the young cubs level instead of towering over her.

Nkiruka was definitely over the whole this-wasn't-Io thing. Totally over it. In fact, this new guy looked just as awesome! He was darker pelted like her (but not so dark as to be a threat), but had pink like Io. She liked him. She liked him a lot. He was a-okay in her books!
"I'm Nkiruka." There was barely time for a pause to breath when she was already skipping onto what she really wanted to ask. "Do you hum a lot? I do sometimes, but mostly I just look for awesome things." Ruka stood up just long enough to shuffle closer to the big Lion, sitting down hard with her back straight and proud, her chest puffed out and her tail flicking behind her.
It was quite clear she possessed every single ounce of pride in herself that a young Lioness could.
"I haven't seen you before! Are you new, Hoaka?" Despite seeming to brush off his introduction earlier, she really did remember his name.

Hoaka smiled he liked younger lions, and was glad that the pride was bustling with young ones, it gave him pride to be watching over a pride that was so young and had many youths. "I hum sometimes I guess. When I am patrolling it gives me something to do. Specially if it is late at night. Makes it so that I am a little less lonely." he said smiling.
"Of course I have to be careful not to hum too loudly I don't want any of the bad guys to hear me." he liked to make his job sound important but in truth his life had been pretty peaceful since he had joined the pride.
"I am pretty new I guess, I think I joined the pride a little after you and your siblings were born. Gave me something good to look out for." he said nudging the young lioness.
"You must know more about the pride then me. How about you tell me some stuff about the pride, is their anything you think you can teach me?"

Hoaka was interesting before, but now? He had her complete attention.
"BAD GUYS?!" Ruka cried out, her eyes wide; she wasn't scared, she was excited. She stood up again, only to get nudged and to topple over in a rather overdramatic manner. She stayed on her side for a moment, then crawled back to her feet, her tail lashing around behind her in her excitement. "What kinda bad guys? Do you need help? I can help, I'm awesome!" Well, Io was to, but Io wasn't here right now, was he? She'd have to fill him in later; he was her partner after all.
"...Teach you?" Her excited expression fell, and she sat down properly in front of him again, lowering her head in mild irritation. "They like the pale ones better, that's all I know. But, yanno?" She questioned, shuffling closer again and leaning in like she had a secret to tell him, cupping her mouth with a paw and her gaze turned away from him.
"I've got no pale on me anywheres. They don't know how to deal with me!" She was clearly under the impression that she was the most unique thing in existance.

"You know some times I might need help perhaps I will come and get you, I could use a little female of dark colors who could hide in the shadows with me. Maybe help me spy with the outter lands." he told the young one. He was happy to have a little one under his wing, Hoaka wanted his own little ones one day he just had to find the right girl.
"Hmm yes they like the light colors her, I did know that. But I hear that they also like females better then males. You have one up on me at least. I am dark and a boy." he said with a chuckle. In relatiy Hoaka didn't care that he was of lesser value, he found other ways to make himself useful here, and maybe one day he would find a female that would want him as a mate, and he would be useful there, perhaps her would be blessed with many daughter who had the sight.

If it were possible, Ruka's eyes would have had stars in them.
"R-REALLY?! I WOULD LOVE THAT!" Ruka cried out again, using a louder voice than she should have. A sneaky shadow walker?! THAT SOUNDED SO COOL! Purring loudly, Ruka shuffled closer yet again, headbutting Hoaka and nuzzling heavily into him, rubbing her dark face into his fur and pressing into his mane deeply enough to practically bury herself in it. All the while, she purred obnoxiously loud. Hoaka was her new best friend, at least for the moment.
Sorry, Io.
"Oooh yeah that too. With the sight! I don't gotsit, but I'm special enough anyway." Again, her voice dropped as she imparted his impressive piece of information to him. "I like you, though!" She keened out, still seemingly intent on burying and nuzzling her way into burying herself within his mane.

Hoaka smiled and nuzzled the little one back, she was a very sweet girl. Hoaka liked it very much that the young girl was overly kind and confident despite her dark colors, it was amazing that this young one was like this, it made Hoaka feel happy inside.
"You are a sweet girl Ruka." he whispered. Shifting his feet Hoaka strightened up. "I am sorry little one I must go back on duty, make sure you get yourself back home ok?" he told her. He winked at the little one before getting ready to leave again.
"I will come for you in a couple nights and we will do some spy work." he told her. He was already looking forward to the outting.
