Clermeilli-Pie had left yet another companion behind a few days ago. It seemed like lately she was meeting a lot of friendly creatures in the same position as she, alone. They had really made her think about the advantages of being with a group as even one companion made hunting much easier. Yet they always parted ways in the end.
She watched the Impala and crept closer, unseen by the creature. She had already missed on two hunts today. The lioness really did not want to miss again. It wasn't a very big animal, but if she could just get close enough to pounce it, it would make a nice meal. If the powers that be would let her get close enough that was.
It took her a few more minutes to get close enough to the oblivious Impala and pounce it. She also almost lost it as it took off and her claws had not bit in the whole way yet. She ended up hanging off its rump and pulling it down from sheer weight difference. Once she had it on the ground, the now dusty and rather unamused lioness made quick work of the hooved wonder and started eating.

The scent of a meal drew her closer, and she followed her nose willingly. The female was like most hyenas, always up for a free dinner when she could manage to sneak one away. However she did not reside in a pack of the creatures, so stealing meals was just not something she was very good at. Her belly rumbling with the scent, she felt her mouth begin to water. She supposed she could hunt on her own, but she was a lazier female, more apt to enjoy life than work for it. Things came to her easily, or at least.. when around the right company it did.
She wagged her yellow tail and snuck up on the blue lioness with ease. She held the laugh that stuck in her throat, and tried to not make a peep. Making a sound could get her caught..and she at least wanted to assess the situation before getting caught staring at the meal.

She downed most of the small creature before she started to suspect she might be being watched. Clermeilli-Pie looked around for a moment and tried to smell something beyond the bloody kill at her feet before just ripping into it faster. If there was something or someone watching, best eat it quickly so she did not lose it. Meet the new comer AFTER the meal.
In some cases, it had been before, but still same logic there. Usually meeting over food was a bad idea. There was too much room for trouble. She gave another paranoid glance around before licking her muzzle. There was a bit left on the carcass, but she planned to move on come dark, so was it worth dragging it away, or should she let it for whatever was watching her?
It was not much left on it anyway. She stepped back from it and started cleaning up, watching to see if there really was someone going to come out to snatch the leftovers away or if she was just being paranoid. It was most-likely paranoid, but one never knew.

When the lioness was finished with her meal, she stood, and Fie took that as her chance. She stepped from the grasses, rushing towards the leftovers of the meal, looking at the female as if asking if she would be challenged. Fie would fight for the leftovers if she had to, but hopefully the female would just give it up. She let out a little hyena like giggle, and cocked her head, waiting for the other to speak. But then she cleared her throat, her voice smooth and crisp, with a tinge of playful. She wasnt a mean girl, but she certainly was capable of a game or two.
"You done with that?" She asked, a grin on her maw.

Clermeilli-Pie was somehow not surprised to find it was a hyena come to steal the remainder of her food. One hyena alone. Okay now she felt a bit of pity for the creature. She stepped back further to let the hyena have it. It might be a scavenger, but so what? It was not as if the lioness had really planned to keep that meager amount anyway.
"I am finished with it." She kept her voice calm and rather impassive as she cleaned the blood off her fur. One lion's scraps were another hyena's meal, it would seem. She would just be grateful it was not a pack of the creatures come to beat her down for the whole kill, rather than one waiting to take her scraps.

She tore into the rest of the carcass, tearing pieces away and letting the meat hit her chin while she swallowed it down without chewing. She let the blood drip from her maw and she smiled. She wasnt one to be scary, so her smile was more a pleased..kind smile.
"Much appreciated. I was hoping youd allow me to have the rest.." She said. After all, she had been watching her eat the entire thing.
"My name is Fievre..Fie, actually. I prefer that." She nodded, before taking another gulp.

"I do not like to fight over food if I can avoid it." Clermeilli-Pie gave a smile of her own. It was meant to be kind, and came out a bit tired. "I am Clermeilli-Pie." She watched the hyena eat and did not regret giving the other creature food. One death to feed to lives, it seemed a fair trade really.
She wondered if there was a rock ledge or tree around she could take cover under to rest. It was hot and she needed to sleep off that meal and the heat. "Fie, is there somewhere nearby that I can take cover from the sun?" She had helped the hyena out, perhaps the hyena would return the favor.

Fievre wasnt quite sure what kind of places were around in terms of hiding from the sun. She never really had to do so. Though.. She wasnt really a native of this area anyway. She preferred heavily treed areas. She perked her ears, and lifted her head, turning to look in the direction of which she came.
"There are alot of trees over if you walk far enough that way. Good cliffs too, so maybe you would find something more adequate." She nodded.

Clermeilli-Pie considers the information carefully. It could be walking into a trap, but at the same time, she had shown kindness to the Hyena. It was not likely the creature would wish to do her harm after that. "I just need a place in the shade to sleep for a bit."
She brushes against Fie gently as she passes her. "Thank you for the direction and you are welcome to join me in the shade if you like." Perhaps Fie would be willing to talk with her until she fell asleep. She could really use some good company and conversation.

SHe nodded, though she had her own traveling plans for the day. She would walk with her for a bit, but she had no desire to stay around long. She really didnt want to stay anywhere too long. It almost made her feel trapped and she just wanted to be free, and explore.
"Sure, I can lead you there. Likely wont stay but what could it hurt?" She asked, and turned to lead the way, looking behind her to see if the other would follow.

Clermeilli-Pie stood and followed Fie. "The loss of good company is always a sad occurrence, but I am grateful for the guidance." It would be nice to sleep away the rest of the day and move on again tonight. Perhaps after another meal.
When they arrived at their destination, Clermeilli-Pie wasted no time finding a nice little rock overhang to settle herself under to get out of the sun. "Thank you, Fie." She purred as she laid herself down on the ground under the rock. Ah shade, it was wondrous!

"Youre welcome." She giggled. She'd have to meet the female again. Maybe on one of her future travels she'd run across her. Either way she was kind, and she would forever remember the full belly that she got from the other. It wasnt likely a lion would be kind to the likes of a Hyena, not that Fie really deserved it. She wasnt against stealing a meal.. But she was happy this day that she did not.
"Well its not goodbye. Ill likely see ya again." She grinned, nodding, her mane bobbing as she turned.
"Get some sleep! And thanks for the meal!" She said, before bounding away for her next adventure.

"I hope we do, and you are welcome!" Clermeilli-Pie laid her head down and watched the hyena bound off. It had been a good day, one she was not likely to forget. So many interesting things came to her and this was one of the better ones.
She gave a yawn and a sleepy little smile. A friend to remember and a good meal. And an evening's nap to look forward to. Things could be much much worse. She drifted off to that happy thought.
