Deep into the night, just after a pouring rain, the city was glistening with fresh water mirrors. Riding throughout the quiet streets, Brass felt the chill of humid wind cutting through his neck and chest.

The raging bike broke the silence of that night, it felt like a thunderstorm as the rain started again. The bike became slightly harder to maneuver, such a heavy bike, but he was starting to get used to it. What an amazing beast this bike was, worth the effort of buying it.

He turned to a known spot, to rest and watch the downpour. Reaching the spot he pulled the bike out of the rain and sat on it sideways, taking his helmet off and brushing his silver hair. That spot was an old building that used to be a bakery until it’s owner went bankrupt. The “for sale” sign was there for quite some time, it even began to rust around the bolts. No one seemed to visit that place besides Brass.

The weather was icky. Super icky. Dreadfully icky.

********* was a cat. No matter what sorts of powers she had, no matter what abilities she had, she was still a cat. Water was not something she liked, so when the world was dumping water from the skies, it did not make ********* a very happy kitty.

If she had been more domesticated, she would have been inside. Yet, with all the (self-imposed) duties she had, the manx was outside. Her usually fluffy fur was sopping wet. The feline usually seemed very round, but with her fur slicked down so much, she actually seemed skinnier than usual. She still had a very compact body, but it didn't seem as full.

Rain or shine, my girls still need to be found. The cat sighed. Yes, she still had her duties, but it would have been nice to take a break. Wandering forward with her head facing down, the tailless cat managed to literally walk right into the door of an old building. She let out a yelping cat sound and tumbled back with a jingle of her collar.

Why did it always seem like buildings were popping up out of nowhere in this city?

“What the f*ck…” slipped out of Brass’ mouth as he saw a drenched thing hit its head on the bakery’s door.

It took him a couple of minutes to figure out what the hell was that wicked little creature. At first, he thought it could be some kind of dog, but it was blue. Maybe a cat. The thing yelped like a cat when it hit the door, it was probably some poor cat. Still, it was blue, silvery blue…

“Even the cats are messed up in this city…” He continued, standing up from his bike and approaching what he hoped to be a cat.

Slowly he walked towards it, trying not to make sudden moves so he wouldn't scare the poor thing. It had to be a cat, it had soaked cat ears and soaked cat paws, but where was the soaked cat tail? Reaching a close but safe distance from the cat, Brass crouched and tried to figure out if it was okay and if it was in fact a feline. With a glance, he noticed that the undetermined cat had a silver bell attached to his collar, so it wasn’t stray, and a silver… star? What was a star doing on that cat’s head?

Something inside Brass told him that the night was starting to get weird.

Her ears managed to catch the sound of a curse (something similar to a majority of Ellie's vocabulary), and within a moment, her pale green eyes managed to catch upon some boy who had a bike. Her mind managed to drift to a certain senshi she knew who'd appreciate such a vehicle.

Even though she was absolutely wet, the soaked animal didn't seem to budge from her spot. She looked at the boy intently, her eyes rather easily meeting his. It was a bit strange, considering many felines would have run at even the slow, steady approach of a new person.

Rather suddenly, two sensations seemed to tug upon her little feline brain. One sensation was just tickling, nudging her brain slightly. This was the feeling she got when any unawakened senshi with an asteroid association was in the vicinity. Most likely, the boy who approached. The other sensation was not nearly as gentle. It felt like someone was digging sharp teeth into the flesh of her brain and trying to tear a chunk of wrinkly pink-grey matter out of the mass. This was the feeling ********* got when a Youma was around.

The tailless cat padded up to the boy when he was close enough and rubbed her wet body against his leg. She cooed out a very friendly greeting, despite the fact she was shivering cold against him.

Come on, take the bait so we can take care of the Youma... please please please... She glanced back to the building. Obviously there was something hiding in there.

As the animal approached, Brass felt a little warm inside. What a nice kitty, all warm when it was obviously freezing. Brass watched closely as the cat rubbed against his leg, drying itself and showing affection at the same time, smart little fellow.

“I’ll ignore that you’re wetting my jeans…” Said him, brushing the cat’s silvery wet fur.

Watching closely the silver star seemed to be glued to the head of the animal… What a cruel thing to do to a cat, was this the new animal fashion trend? He rubbed the star once or twice, to feel its texture and thickness.

“I can see you have an owner from that fancy collar of yours.” He said before pausing to think while playing with the bell. “but I think he wouldn’t mind me taking you out of this storm for now, right?”

He took the cat, stood up and opened the zipper of his leather jacket. Carefully he placed the animal inside and zipped up just a little, so it wouldn’t fall.

“There, you should feel warmer there, buddy.” Said Brass, looking inside his jacket, into the cat’s bright green eyes.

A thud came from the building. Brass looked up, gazing through the window of the old bakery… What the…?

He tried to see movement inside, but furniture and sheets blocked most of the window. The interior was also too dark to see anything.

“Maybe another cat… Though you’re the only one I’m taking home.”

Under the boy's fingers, the star marking felt velvety and soft. The cat purred slightly, but it was because of another fact.

He took the bait.

Sort of.

Sure, she was now in his jacket and most likely making his shirt underneath the leather rather damp, but now he was threatening to go home. The feline squirmed in his now bulging jacket, pressing a single paw against his chest, over his heart. The feline turned towards the building she had bumped her head against and mewed persistently at it. She wanted to make it seem like there was something she cared about in that building.

[[Lizzy, gimme a warning if I ever godmode, even if just little. I think that "I stuff your cat in my jacket" was a little godmode, wasn't it? Sorry, really. >_<"]]

Brass noticed the kitty becoming restless, as if it was trying desperately to tell him something, something important.

He crooked an eyebrow and tried to understand where the cat was pointing it’s little head towards. It showed intense focus on the bakery’s door… Why?

“What are you… “ Brass said, but didn’t finished the sentence as a chill ran up his spine. That noise again, a thud called his attention.

Brass felt curious and frightened at the same time. Maybe it wasn’t just another cat… He wondered, he walked and he reached the door. It had deep scratches on the wood around the doorknob. He hesitated for a second, but with a twist of the knob, the door was open. Why was it already open? A putrid odor filled his lungs as the air escaped from inside. He coughed and held his breath as he could; tried breathing from the mouth, but he could even taste it.
He covered his face with one hand and supported the kitty inside his jacket with the other. With slow and careful steps, he continued inside the bakery, dodging the garbage left inside, trying to remain as silent as possible. He couldn’t see much, it was too dark, but he could vaguely perceive shapes and silhouettes.

Out of somewhere, he heard a scratching noise and a faint wailing. “What the f…” He turned his head around, looking for something, anything.

I am a cat she merely thought to herself as the boy seemed to succumb to her mewing. Perhaps it wasn't the question he meant to ask, but it was the one that the drenched spotted mused over.

It was always nice being carried about, the steady pace of a human's steps always felt so soothing. Despite the obvious damage done to the door by something, the feline seemed to brush it off. Sure, it was probably caused by the Youma, but if she acted scared, it would probably rub off on this boy.

Her paw flexed slightly over his heart as if she was trying to feel out his identity. You are Sailor...?

...Sailor...

...Galahad...

There was something creepy about the scratching sound. It didn't sound like the usual "fingernails against the wall" scratching. If Brass looked at the corner of the room, he'd see why. It was like there was a giant pair of sharp teeth just gnawing along the edges of the wall. The yellowed fangs scraped at the edges as some sort of strange dark liquid seemed to drip along the edges of the wall.

It strangely smelled faintly of chocolate.

The putrid smell, it changed, it tasted differently in his mouth... Brass felt a little sickened by the quick change from odor to perfume, suddenly something sweet, the best kind of sweet. It tasted like… like… chocolate?

He closed his eyes, thought they were of little use in that darkness. He tried to follow the scent while feeling the surrounding with his hands and feet, slowly progressing through that odd environment. What was he doing? What was the purpose of entering that place to begin with? He didn’t cared for some reason hard to perceive.

The scent of chocolate grew stronger, even if still faint, but it was definitely chocolate. It’s reasonable to smell chocolate in a bakery, right? Even such an old one. If he found the source of the smell he would find something, whatever he was looking for, probably eating it.

His eyes closed shut, his hands felt the room and its shapes, warning about any obstacles. He occasionally tripped onto something, but walked slowly enough not to lose much balance. His hands reached a large surface, probably a wall, and he was about to turn and keep going, when his fingers felt… sticky?

He opened his eyes.

Brass' eyes were greeted with a sinister smile. In fact, that was all that was there, was a smile. No eyes, no distinguishing features aside from teeth and dark goo.

Despite her fur being soaked, it still seemed to puff up slightly as the Youma was literally brought up behind her. Slowly, like in the fashion the protagonist in a horror movie would before finding something absolutely horrible behind them. However, she was not the sort to scream. No, instead her eyes literally focused in on one fact.

His hand is in the Youma...

Now was probably a good time to act like a mentor and not like a cat.

"I suggest you pull your hand back and distance yourself..." a rather chipper female voice seemed to suggest lightly. The source? The feline's mouth. "That is, unless you like having Youma all over your hand?"

The liquid seemed to ripple slightly under the boy's fingers as the cat spoke. Something definitely seemed to agitate whatever this liquid was.

Brass stood paralyzed for a couple of seconds, a couple of hours, he couldn’t tell. He could only stare at those wide and sharp teeth. For a moment, he felt like little red riding hood…

He snapped out of it when he heard the voice of a girl. Without thinking twice, he jerked his hand out of that goo, jumped back and tried to decide whether to deal with the grinning chocolate or the female voice.

“What the f*ck are you?” He yelled. Not know if he was saying it to the creature or the voice or if the voice came from that thing.

Blush rushed through his body, every muscle tightening, preparing to fight. His reaction wasn’t of fear, it was anger, raw and unbridled anger. He had more street fights in his life then he could remember, so the fright had long turned into wrath.

He carefully looked for the gun in his waist. For f*cks sake, I forgot it in the drawer!
Without taking his eyes of the smile, he tried to think straight. There were rumors about creatures messing up the city… so they were all true. More importantly, how would he deal with something that wasn’t human? If it was at least humanoid, c’mon!

Step 1: Removing hand from Youma. COMPLETE!

Step 2: Putting some distance between potential senshi and Youma... still working on that.

"Come on, get a move on," that cute voice chided. The cat inside of his jacket flexed her claws into the spot where her paw was resting, which was right above his heart. "You cannot do anything like you are now... but I can help you as long as you put some distance between the Youma and yourself!"

The hand which had been in the dark liquid of the "Youma's" body still had quite a bit of residue from the monster. Yet, like how melted chocolate on an ice cream bar cooled off, the liquid began to do the same upon his hand.

The pair of teeth finally seemed to release their hold upon the wall and backed away, revealing that the liquid seemed to be able to hold itself up like a regular body. The spot the Youma had been latched onto had a very definite bite mark in it now.

The teeth managed to hiss out something. "Huuuuuungry!"

The cat seemed to get more insistent, now kneading both of her front paws against the boy's chest. "You don't want to find out what it likes to eat. Trust me!! Put some distance between us so we can talk!"

Okay, now he was sure it was all a bizarre nightmare, it usually happened after a bottle of tequila or maybe vodka. He looked down inside his jacket to find the cat talking to him while it scratched his chest.

Okay, let’s say I believe this is a talking cat trying to help me.

Brass scanned the place, trying to find any quick exit; it would be his way out. He found one that resembled a window with curtains covering it, the wind occasionally flapping the cover confirmed his assumption. Without looking back, he hurled through garbage and ruble, as fast as he could, and reached the window.

He protected himself with both arms and crashed through wood plates and broken glass, cutting himself a little, but the jacket shielded most of his skin. He kept running, cleaning the glass from his jacket, and reached the motorcycle. He jumped on the bike and started the engine; it roared and as he drove down the road, where he made a turn around the corner and stopped for a second.

“Okay, talking cat, what do I do now? Do I keep driving and find lala-land or this is far enough for you?” he said, with a a mix of mocking tone and horror, looking down at what was probably a figment of his drunk imagination.

This boy most certainly had an interesting choice in exits. It was definitely unnecessary at the moment to make such a fancy and dangerous crash through a window.

He could have just used the door like last time. At least she was protected by the boy's jacket as the glass shattered around them.

Everything was happening so fast, that in all honesty, the poor wet cat's head was spinning. One moment they were dry, the next they were in the rain, the pitter patter of water once more filling her ears, and then there was the roar of an engine too. For a moment, it felt like they were moving, and then they weren't. The sound of the boy's voice managed to finally help unspin her head.

"Oh, my name's ********* actually. It's a pleasure to meet you! And if you could let me out of your coat, I'll make this quick. After all, that Youma is probably now trying to figure out how to get to you now." The boy's tone was ignored, since the horror part was common place, and the mocking tone only reminded her of Iris.
