Just one of those days. One of those days where everything is going great, going fine, but then something happens. Today, it was the realization that Elegancia missed her mother.

Shopping at the mall was usually such a joyous, therapeutic occasion, but today it was ruined. Ruined! Elegancia brought Finneas, her faithful butler, along today. But he couldn't do the things a loving mother could-- he couldn't help her pick lingerie, couldn't give her advice on men, couldn't tell her what matched nicely and what didn't. Well, he could have, but she really did not want to hear it from a potentially perverse point of view.

At any rate, she really wondered-- how different would her life have been if Mother were still around? Would Father stick to the family more? Would she be happier? Where would they live? What kinds of things would they do together? Her mind was overflowing with ideas of how her mother could have been. Unfortunately, Elegancia never had the opportunity to meet the woman who gave birth to her. She was, apparently, a woman of Spanish descent who had lived in Italy. That's where her parents met, or so she was told. They fell in love, consummated, and Elegancia was born. The details after what happened from there were fuzzy.

Did she die? If so, was it murder? Natural causes? What if she didn't die, but left? If she did leave, what were the circumstances? More questions. Elegancia was a deep girl like that.

While looking through all the purchases she had made that day, Elegancia continued to question all these different things. She began to feel envious of the fact that nastier, less-deserving people had the opportunity to know and even live with their mothers. Why wasn't she granted such a thing? Why? After so much mulling over everything, Elegancia lost the desire to review all the purchases made.

Maybe it wouldn't of been so hard on the girl if she had her father. Or any relatives, for that matter. Or a friend or two. But most of all, she wanted her mother. Elegancia removed herself from the back of the limousine, entered her home, and sat on her favorite loveseat. Apparently, it was something her mother had picked out when her parents were together. It was very strange in that it always seemed to soothe her, on even the worst of days, and even in the worst of moods. Elegancia spent many a lonely night on that loveseat.

Proceeding to wonder what kind of girl she may have been with a proper family, Elegancia's eyes teared up a little, but not enough for tears to stream down her cheeks. She was a big girl, but without a family, it was difficult to be such. It wasn't that she felt that there was anything wrong with the way she was, but... Elegancia knew how she was sometimes.

But it's the only thing she knew, because there was no one there to teach her otherwise. Elegancia had to set her own example.
