For once, the young girl was fully awake. Well, mostly awake, at the very least. The small brunette had one of her tiny hands wrapped around her father's finger as she walked through the field, eye-to-eye with flowers matching every colour of the rainbow. Her ice-blue eyes were open only a slit, gazing at the beautiful world around her, stretching out her fingertips to brush them gently against the soft petals that surrounded her.
It was only a moment more, however, before Aludra's arms wrapped around her small self and lifted her off the ground. Gasping in surprise, Demetre wriggled softly in her father's grip, fingertips stretching out as far as she could reach toward the flowers that she had left on the ground. Quietly, she whimpered as they moved further away from the garden. Soon, she turned her watery eyes on the hybrid, the soft start of a sob bubbling forth from her throat.
Aludra smiled weakly, wiping the start of a tear from his daughter's cheek. "Truly that deadset on staying, are you...?" he asked quietly. He had other places to go at the moment, namely an open house that he'd seen online. It was a beautiful place, and -like everything else- well in his price range. But the girl looked so genuinely upset that they would be leaving, not to mention that she was so rarely awake, that he couldn't help the sympathetic smile that pulled up the corners of his mouth.
Sighing and shaking his head at how easily he was swayed by the girl's tears, he walked back to the garden and placed his daughter next to the patch of flowers that she had been so excited about seeing earlier. Without his help, she was unable to stay on her feet, falling to her bottom after a moment of wobbling. Of course, she didn't seem to mind in the least, smiling at the forest of beauty that surrounded her, stretching her fingertips toward the nearest and petting its petals gently. Already, her conscious was waning. When did she get so tired all of a sudden...?

The wizard Howl had a certain taste in flowers. He didn't like fancy flowers, ones you could only find in an equally fancy flower shop. He liked them in fields, in gardens--mostly due to his wife, he had to admit. He did not feel at all out of place here, quite the contrary. He might have looked it, with a suit that could have easily been a prince's. Walking with the grace of a dancer, he soon came upon two figures he didn't recognize.
One of them looked vaguely familar. The infant, that was. As if she had come from a book the wizard had once read. She looked tired; and though he was supposedly immune to other magics, he began to feel the same. He yawned before shaking his head, as if to rid himself of the spell.
What did this remind him of? Ah! Sleeping Beauty. Princess Aurora if you wanted the Disney version, and Howl didn't approve of such things. He ignored the teenager/adult/guardian altogether, to the point of being impolite.
"Hello," he said, stopping in front of Demetre. "Would a kiss wake you up?"

Demetre gurgled softly to herself as she finally reached out far enough to wrap one of her tiny hands around the stem of the flower that she had been reaching for, smiling happily to herself. Her crystal eyes were mostly closed already, only open a crack as she leaned as far as she could, sniffing gently at the pretty-looking flower. Surprised by the strength of the scent, she fell back with a squeak, releasing the plant. After making an odd face for a moment, the little girl sneezed, surprising herself with the gesture and only tiring her further.
Luckily for Howl, Aludra was currently busy looking through a small book of real estate that he had found a few blocks earlier, looking through the different houses. For his soon-to-be family’s sake, he was looking for a place that was nice, as well as having at least two bedrooms, though three was preferable. Frowning softly, he glanced up back to his daughter when she sneezed, only a moment before the princelike figure came into view. It was thanks to that little book in Aludra’s hands that Howl wasn’t immediately pegged with a furiously protective glare.
Demetre, by the time that the male was there, was definitely fading fast. Sleepily, she gazed up at the male before grasping gently in his direction. A soft pout was on her face and she whimpered softly, eyes having fallen shut a few moments earlier. She was too tired to try to figure out what he was trying to ask, or what any of the words meant, let alone if she had even heard them before. Whether or not she was lifted off the ground, the little girl curled herself up tiredly, falling into a deep, quiet sleep as her spell was steadily spread across the unsuspecting people who inhabited the park.
