Tori was currently situated in the main living room helping Amelia to write her letters. Knowing it was close to time for Lily and THING to arrive she glanced over at the nearest clock.
Amelia had snapped so many crayons in the process of trying to draw straight lines to make her letters perfect as possible. She stopped when she saw Tori glance up at the clock.
"We're home!" Lucifel hollered out as she swung the door open.
Tori ignored her green sister and her antics. She knew that Lily would take care of her. "THING!," she grinned and patted the spot of floor next to her. "Come on you can learn your ABC's too."
"I hope you do better than me," Amelia said softly as she glanced down at her broken crayons. A look of disappointment on her face. She really didn't see why she couldn't just draw pictures to represent the words.

THING! blinked at the situation for a bit before slowly walking over to take the indicated seat by Tori's lap. "I know some letters already." the tot explained, pointing to the paper. It watched TV a lot when left at home while Delucca worked and Lily was at class. Because of this, the tot had already started recognizing the letters for its favorite channels, not that it knew what they meant or how to write them.
Lily glanced at the situation and turned to her green best friend with a small, handing over her backpack. "Fel, why don't you go find somewhere to put this down and get your clothes changed then figure out what we're going to do tonight, okay?" she said, giving the other girl a hug and speaking in a tone to convince Lucifel to do what she said. It was getting to be an art making the other do what was needed.
Once she'd taken care of the other Curio, Lily went over to sit by Amelia on the floor. "What're you having trouble with, Lia? Maybe I can help you?" she asked, picking up one of the unbroken crayons.

Lucifel half wondered why the heck she'd be the one changing her clothes... She was after all the one that was home schooled. But, whatever. She shrugged her shoulders and skipped off towards her room.
Amelia glanced over at Lily and smiled. "I've got it," she said softly. "Tori just thought it would be good to re-in-force it..." she whickered as she picked up a purple crayon. She doodled a picture of a unicorn and under it wrote her name. Even though a letter or two was backwards she smiled proudly.
"Well that's good THING! Peace of cake," Tori chuckled and winked. She placed a board (for a firm surface) and some paper in front of it. "There's plenty of crayons to pick from." Well there was but only because Lucifel had nearly broken them all in her hyperness... Nothing seemed to calm her sister down but her friend, Lily.

Lily rolled her eyes - some days she had to come up with the strangest excuses to get Lucifel to do what she needed. Grinning down at Amelia, she said "Oh really? Then what was it you were complaining about to THING!, hm?" she teased, petting one of the soft horse ears atop Amelia's head. It was just a sisterly comment, Lily was pretty much family to the group anyway.
"This one is D." THING! mumbled, leaning forward to draw the big letter that was the first one of DISCOVERY CHANNEL, and generally one of the only letters she could recognize. However, the next "letter" thing wrote was a combination of an I, an S and an O with squiggles in it. The logo to her favorite shows always had the world in front of the I and the S, so THING! had just assumed that was the letter. "That's IS." it said the sound like it was a real letter.

Amelia smiled towards Lily. It was really nice to be noticed. She felt warm and fuzzy. She rubbed her head against Lily's hand. She loved to have her ears rubbed. "A few of my letters are backwards," she admitted.
Tori did her best to not giggle. "The letter after D is E," and she drew an E for THING. "Elephant and Egg both start with E. Would you like me to get a picture book? It will help us out a lot more to have visuals."

Lily smiled back, continuing to rub the other's ears, "Oh? Which ones? Why don't you show me?" she suggested with a smile. She was being gentle and helpful, not trying to sound like a teacher or a know-it-all. If Amelia knew the letters were wrong, she should work to fix them, rather than keeping up the bad habit of writing them wrong. At least that's what Lily thought. It'd keep her from getting reprimanded about them later, as Lily sometimes was.
THING looked at the letter before copying it with its crayon and doodling an Elephant nearby. "E." It repeated but shrugged, "I don't need pictures. I've seen animals."

Amelia whickered contently. And, then she blinked as she realized she'd been asked a question. She was half gone from having her ears rubbed. "Lower case B, D, P, Q, G, E. Also my 5, Z, and S look at lot alike." She sighed. "I try hard to not make mistakes."
"Oh yes, and your favorite channel." Tori chuckled. "Silly me. After E comes F. F is for fish, fun, friends, and food." She was sure there were a lot more but those were the most common that she could think of.

"Why don't you try to practice those and see if you can make them better? I'll go see if we have any apples, okay?" Lily told the girl, giving her ears a gentle pat and setting Amelia down again. "If you don't practice the ones you know you've got wrong, how can you get better?"
"No, I see Elephants on Animal Planet. I like Discovery and Science better. They blow things up. Like the guy with the mustache." Thing explained, drawing the F and then a fish afterwards.

"Okay!" Amelia's ears flickered, she loved apples. She dropped the broken crayon and picked up a full sized one. She started with the 'B' and then worked her way through a couple of the other letters she always wrote backwards.
"Well then. So long as we don't get to experimenting in the house and blow things up nothing wrong with liking it," Tori chuckled. "After F comes G. Gold, Good, Girl are just a few," she said as she pointed to Amelia. Sure Amelia was a 'unicorn' but she was also a 'girl'.

Lily returned a short while later, with a couple of apples she'd cut up. It was okay for Lily to use the kitchen knives, since she was the most careful of the deadly trio really.
"Here Amelia. I made it into slices so you can dip it in the peanut butter and caramel." the blue haired tot indicated the two little cups of 'dippin stuff' she'd gotten out. "The caramel's nummy but you'll probably like the peanutbutter better."
THING! looked consideringly at Amelia for a moment before drawing a long necked bird after its G. "Goose."
