Bug stretched her arms out reaching for the sky while lying down amidst the tall grass. It was a comfortably nice day out, and Bug had just woken up from a nap that suddenly befell her while she was making pictures in the clouds. They had all puffed away in that time, so Bug sat up a bit dazed she flicked her wings and snatched a grasshopper that was just passing by. looking at it, it wasn't all that worth of a meal, but she popped it in her mouth anyway and contemplated standing up or going back to sleep.

Tarot toddled her way down the small hill that was the boundry between her home and garden, wearing a small sun hat since there was actual sunshine today. Her skin reeked of sunblock and despite the warmth of the day Tarot was wearing her fall jacket to cover as much skin as possible.

Both hands clutched the handle of a large straw basket, and she was trying to very best to keep the contents from spilling onto the ground. Inside was a small trowel, a watering can with some water in it, a handful of nondescript stones, and packets of seeds.

After Tyyne had shown Tarot how to make plants grow the toddler had begged Sev to buy some for her. She refused any offers of help from him, claiming that the garden was her space and she could do it all on her own. Sev reluctantly agreed and allowed the toddler to go off on her own, watching after her until she disappeared behind the hill rise.

The yellow urchin watched from over the tips of the tall grass as a small very well covered girl wandered down the hill side. She certainly had a ton of stuff with her. Bug was down wind so she got a nice whiff of the sunblock, not that she knew what it was, but she had an idea of where it came from.

Bug rolled onto her knees and prowled after the girl through the tall grass. She didn't want to startle the girl who seemed so intent on her mission, so she just watched to see what she'd do next from a distance.

Tarot finally reached her garden. It was stretching the term really, seeing as the only plant really recognizable for what it was was a bush of lavender. Tarot set her basket down next to it and dug around in it's contents.

Since autumn was coming there hadn't been much she could put in the ground. Sev had bought her a few autumn flowers that she could plant now, and the seeds were of root plants like potatoes or carrots. Sev warned Tarot that they might not grow, but she wanted to try anyway.

First she pulled out her little trowel. She had to clear the grass away from the area and make a strip of dirt to bury the seeds in. Tarot went at it with a will, face creased in concentration as she focused on her hard work. A tiny tickling in the back of her mind went unnoticed.

Well hidden the stalker laid low. Bug watched as the girl settled herself down in front of a bush. Her digging was curious, she didn't seem to be looking for anything. The yellow prowler's interest grew too much when she saw the amount of focus that was put into digging the ground up.

Bug popped up from her place and quietly made her way over to the girl.

"What cha doing?" she said while sitting herself beside the girl.

Tarot was a very dignified child and as proud to claim she did not scare easily. Therefore the squeak sound was not her, it was the shovel hitting a rock. And she didn't fall over, the bird girl must've pushed her or something.

By now Tarot was used to seeing others with odd mutations. The wings actually seemed quite normal compared to some of the oddities she'd seen walking around town. It didn't stop Tarot from being grumpy though.

"Sev says don' talk to strangers." There, that was the standard response that should make a person go away. Tarot rightened herself and continued her dig.

((How about "Pest control for gardens" for a title, or something like that? Seeing as Bug's a pest, but Bug eats bugs which are also pests XD ))

Bug watched the girl fall to one side, did she spook her that much? Bug shrugged it off as she seemed fine.

"I'm not Strangers, I'm Bug. You didn't answer my question." Bug said with a bit of a pout, all the people she had met before were more than willing to answer her questions, even if they didn't always give a good answer. The girl twisted her face and stared at the bush in front of them. It seemed oddly out of place in front of the woods.

"If I don' know you, tha' make you a strang'r," Tarot replied. She gave up on the shovel, which didn't seem to be getting her very far. Even knowing that Sev would have a fit later Tarot dug her hands into the earth. Pulling away grass was much easier like this!

The earth was still a little hard though. Maybe some water? Tarot got up and went to retrieve her watering can from her basket.

The canary girl's face scrunched up. She didn't like having her questions ignored.
"And I introduced myself, which means you now know who I am." she said with pouty anger. Alex had told her that proper manners dictated she should have told her name back. She was doing it wrong.

Bug let out a huff and saw that the girl was now pulling out the grass with her hands, but gave up to fetch the watering can. Bug stood up and leaned over the pale girl peeking into her basket. What was she doing? Inside her basket she had seeds, Bug had seeds. She stuffed her hand in her pocket, she had a couple of Wallflower, Columbine, sunflower, daisy seeds and some peanuts. Mostly all given to her by the sparrows.

The urchin wondered what she planed to do with hers she didn't seem like she was planing on eating them. Bug looked at the pile in her hand. What else were they good for?

Tarot paused to think about it. She supposed Bug was right, in a roundabout way. If it would get Bug to stop pestering her.... "I'm Tarot," the toddler replied, carefully taking measured steps so as not to spill the water from her watering can on the ground.

She reached the scruffy patch she had been attempting to clear. Very carefully she sprinkled the area with some water, then set the can down to wait for the ground to get all soft and squishy like it did after rain.

While she waited she decided to voice something that was bothering her. "Aren't bugs supposed to be tiny with big eyes and lots of legs," she asked.

"Tarot," She mulled over the name. It was about time she gave her some sort of answer. Bug watched how the little girl's mission continued with the pouring of water. Now sh was trying to make the ground wet? Such a strange thing to do.

"If you want I can do the digging for you, if you're having trouble. I do it all the time when I'm looking for worms" Bug made the suggestion, however she had the notion that Tarot would refuse her anyway.

hmm she wanted to know about bugs did she? "I'll tell you about bugs only if you tell me what you're doing first, you have to be fair to me." Bug was learning too much from the lady at the bakery, she was picking up on her crafty habits.

Tarot frowned a little. Tyyne had told her that some worms in the ground were good for plants, they made the soil better. Bug better not be eating her good worms!

She had to admit some help would be nice. It wasn't like she wanted to plow the whole field, but her tiny hands weren't quite as suited to the task as her enthusiasm. Bug wanted to know what Tarot was doing in return? Well that one was simple enough to answer. "Magic," Tarot responded, little face entirely serious under the wide brim of her sun hat.

What a quick, short answer, and she couldn't give that earlier, jeez!

Magic that was that was interesting though, Bug had no idea tiny seeds could do magic, maybe she just didn't have that power? Bug griped the seeds she was holding tighter before showing them to Tarot.

"Can you do magic with these too?" she asked the pale skinned girl.

Bug hummed a bit before coming up with her answer. "Well some bugs are tiny and have big eyes and lots of legs. And if you're wondering; I'm not a bug, I'm just named Bug." She ended with a smile. People seemed to get that confused a lot. She was sure it wouldn't be the last time she'd be asked that as it wasn't the first.

Tarot examined the seeds in Bug's hands. They looked similar to some of the things Tyyne had shown her, so she was fairly confident enough in her answer. "Yea, bu' it takes time."

She poked at the dirt, testing it for softness, as Bug answered her question. Such an odd name for a bird girl. And she said as much. "Why you named bug if you got bird wings?"

"That's okay I can wait"she assumed Tarot meant a few hours not weeks and handed her her seeds.
Bug pushed her finger over the grass making a mark in a box shape around the bush "Would this be enough room for the magic to work?" she questioned before she started to dig, she didn't want to mess up any important step.

The yellow girl wasn't the least bit surprised by Tarot's second question, it was the usual follow up."Because I chose to be called Bug." That's right she named herself, something apparently uncommon.
