Note to self: In the future, be sure to inspect potential landing places from a lower altitude BEFORE coming to a rapid landing.
Having been in flight for a few hours prior, Corsant had decided it was time to descend, have some lunch, walk around, maybe find someone new to chat with...however, he'd been rather high up when he'd spied what appeared to be a pleasant clearing, and it wasn't until he'd crash-landed that he learned what looked to be a grassy clearing was actually a reedy bog. He'd managed to pull himself out with relatively little fuss, but he now resembled nothing so much as the creature from the black lagoon. His long blond mane and tail hung lanky and wet to his body, which was freely spackled and daubed with mud and algae. On top of that, he smelled very strongly of swamp, which, mingled with the sweat caused by his exercise, made him a less than charming creature at the moment.
That was why he'd changed his plan: bath first now, and he'd eat later. Having freed himself from the bog, he had immediately begun scouting around for a suitable body of water, be it river or lake or pond. The only prerequisite? Clean water. And it looked like he'd just struck it lucky.
The unmistakable scent of clear water made him smile, and he hastened his step in its direction. After a short but brisk walk, he was rewarded with the sight of a small but serviceable pond, its surface pristine beyond its ripples. It even came complete with an attendant Soquili!
Though pleasantries would have to wait, if they happened at all. Much as he hated to admit it, Corsant was well-aware of the fact that even when clean he had a habit of scarring away others, especially mares; kalona weren't regarded that highly, and with good reason. Add to that that right now he smelled and looked like the Loch Ness Monster...
Oh well. "Excuse me, pardon me, Creature of the Deep passing through and needing metamorphosis into passably equine Soquili!" Flashing the mare a bright white smile, Corsant came up to and past her and promptly dove into the pond.
