Now, I can assume since we're all Metal fans here...most of us are s**t broke. I could be very wrong for saying that, but I got some lulz. Now,... I lost where I was going with this intro. 70,000 Tons of Metal. 4 days. 40 bands. 1 boat. 1 Really big ******** boat. 70000tons.com is the website and has all the info, but basically it's a cruise ship, hosting a heavy metal festival. This is apparently the first time ever. So far they've got about 28 of the bands signed on to go. Agent Steel Amon Amarth Cripper Death Angel Ensiferum Epica Exodus <-- !!!! Fear Factory <-- !!!! Finntroll Forbidden Gamma Ray Iced Earth <-- !!!! Korpiklaani Mardukl Moonspell Obituary <-- !!!! Rage Raven Saxon Sodom Sonata Arctica Swashbuckle Testament <-- !!!! Trouble Týr Uli Jon Roth Unleashed Witchburner I marked the ones I'd be super excited to see live. And I'm actually considering saving up for this. The pricing is buying a cabin, then so much money per person. Like...the best rate for cabins right now is about $1,000 & then the 250 per person. So, I didn't see anything and thought I'd just leave this here. Thoughts?

Theres already a thread about this, but you seemed to put more info in this one, and the other was made in Feb. So I guess I'll leave this here.
I'm not going but I'd like to go for Fear Factory, Ensiferum, Finntroll, Amon Amarth, Korpiklaani, and Swashbuckle. mostly because I've seen those bands and not only did they put on a good show but they seemed like they'd be fun to hang out with.
I'd also really like see Saxon, Testament, Exodus, Trouble, and Obituary. Mostly because I really like them and would like to see them live.
But I'm not paying $1200.

Yeah, that's the only super downside. the money.
And sorry for reposting. I don't know if you guys or Gaia took it out, but I thought there used to be a search bar for guilds...I couldn't find it; in turn, couldn't find the old one.
I've got a few ideas, lol. Maybe calling up Iced Earth's drummer, he lives here in the same City as I do and I've met him a few times. See if I can somehow get a ticket from him, somehow. Or start a fundraiser of some sorts "Mike needs a ******** ride!" fund. It sets sail about 3 weeks after my birthday...super birthday present?
And it's setting sail, only 2 or 3 hours drive. agh, this would be such an awesome cruise!

I've seen about half of those bands live and they've been more or less good. The only band I haven't seen live and would be interested in seeing is Marduk. surprised But alas, I'm not paying $1250 and for expensive a** plane tickets just to see one band (plus a few other good ones). talk2hand

Exactly. If the ship wants to stop in Poznan and then drop me back in Poznan - I may perhaps think of a short relaxing vacation. Yeah, a vacation would nice... I'm exhausted already after 3 weeks back at work...

Oh yeah, it would cost me quite a bit in plane tickets aswell, except not as much as it would for Mana or Kas. xp
If it was an EBM/Aggrotech/Post-Industrial cruise, hell, I'd somehow get the money and go. Metal has really lost the appeal it used to have for me.

I'd save on the plane ticket =) I'm already in FL, just gotta drive farther South!
And if I can convice a friend or two to join me, I'm sure we could split the cost of the cabin, as the more beds the less a cabin costs. ( by $100 a bed that is ) So, if there's 3 of us that's about 900 a cabin, already cut to 300 a piece plus the 250.
Lookin at about 600 including whatever other charges; gas, tax, i dunno
and I think that covers everything except merch & soft drink & alcoholic. I don't drink, and I think I can lay off the soft ********, I'm set. Now I just do some sly talkin'...

Digital Malevolence Metal has really lost the appeal it used to have for me. THIS. Metal is boring. Nobody is doing anything different, nobody is pushing the envelope. Even staple bands are now just ripping themselves off instead of doing something ..... good.

When you're studying and not working and have just moved into a more expensive (rentwise) apartment, there's a fat chance you'd ever come up with that much money. talk2hand

I don't know....I've dug pretty deep, really. I bet I've had heard 8 out of ten bands you could name, unless they were Thrash, Speed or Heavy Metal bands.
