Tarot hummed a tuneless song under her breath as her toddler legs propelled her along a grassy slope behind the houses of the suburb she lived in. It felt nice outside, warm with a cooling breeze. The sky was hidden by mounds of dove gray clouds. Overcast days were Tarot's favorite, her snowy skin testament to days spent away from the sun's rays. Sev had also said cloudy days were best for moving plants around, another reason to be happy the sun was hiding.
Speaking of Sev. A voice, tinged with exasperation and a touch of franticness sounded in her head. Tarot pondered over this. Slowly she was getting better at separating what was part of the current world, and things that were yet to come. This voice hadn't happened yet, which meant she was still safe and had time to get a little further from the house. She was fond of Sev, really, but he should have known that as soon as the word "carnival" came out of this mouth the last thing he should have done was left to take a shower.
Tarot came to the top of her hill, and took the opportunity to get a peek of the new landscape. Trees were far more predominant here, with wide paths in the grass like roads, just without the road. Lots of places to explore! The introvert actually smiled, and made for the treeline.

Things were...rocky at home. Mostly because Evari seemed to treat her a little differently now. She was trying to make up for everything she'd done to upset Tyyne or something, even Xai was surprised! And while she loved her sister she really suddenly felt she needed to get away, and so she'd wandered off on her own while Evari was sleeping and found a nice quiet place by the woods to relax. She stretched her arms up over her head with a strained groan of contentment, sighing happily and looking around. Her ears flicked a bit at the sounds the area around her made, smiling warmly and just listening. It was so quiet. So peaceful. She didn't even hear any running water nearby! Which meant she was safe from that awful Leviathan. Though it would've been nice if she could enjoy this with Vance or Enyo. But Xai had said Vance got himself grounded somehow so...she couldn't go see him, right? And she didn't know where Enyo lived! Darn. That sucked. Her ears drooped a little, looking down at the ground in front of her. Autumn was coming, which meant the plants were going to start dying so they could rebloom in spring; she'd read about it. She wasn't exactly looking forward to the next two seasons. Would she still be able to grow pretty flowers and plants? There was only one way to find out!
Tyyne put a hand on the ground, pulling it up and watching as a small group of four or five yellow tulips sprouted and bloomed to life within seconds. She smiled warmly and did it again in another spot, growing a patch of posies beside her. That was fun! Hmmm...what next?
A rustling caught her attention, blinking and lifting her head sharply with her ears perked high. Who was that? "He...hello...?"

Tarot stared at the rough brown bark in front of her face, thinking the trees really needed to get some more meat on them. Sure they were wide enough to hide her now, but what happened when she got bigger herself? Not that that was going to happen in the immediate future, but Tarot liked to plan ahead if she could.
To be honest, the deer girl wasn't the oddest thing she'd seen. It seemed to escalate; first a girl who talked to rats, then one with blue skin with purple spirals, then that boy who had blades for arms. By comparison the deer girl looked quite nonthreatening, but she was just so big and Sev told Tarot that deer didn't like to be startled.
It hadn't worked though. She wasn't paying attention and so only got a few seconds warning that she should probably hide. And while she'd made it out of sight in time, it seemed to grass at her feet gave her away. When the deer girl called out, Tarot leaned sideways to peer from her hiding spot. She noted with interest clusters of flowers that she was sure hadn't been there before.

"Is someone out there?" Tyyne called out gently, standing up slowly and looking around with a tiny frown. Who was there? She could hear them she just couldn't see them. It couldn't be Leviathan, he was way too big to just hide so easily like that. It had to be someone small. But who? Was it...Bug, maybe? "Um..hellooo~?" She stepped closer to where she thought she heard the sound coming from, tiny multicolored pansies sprouting up along the small path she walked. Eventually they just grew around her hooves when she stopped walking.
She could feel it. She was being watched. But by who? This was creepy! Maybe she should've let Evari come after all! Tyyne's hands pressed against her chest, lowering her human half a little as she tried to peer around. Where were they?

The girl didn't seem too observant for a deer. But she at least got the direction Tarot was hiding in correct, so Tarot could forgive her lack of super senses in life form detection.
What she was more interested in was the flowers. They followed the deer girl around like multi-colored puppies! Even now she was standing in what was practically a puddle of flowers! She'd thought Faiya was lucky, being able to smell like all sorts of pretty stuff. This girl could make pretty stuff!
Unable to contain her curiousity any longer, Tarot stepped out from behind her tree. She pointed a finger at the flowers and looked up at Tyyne with a demanding and jealous expression. "How're you doing that?"

Oh Tyyne was plenty observant, just it was hard to see someone when they were...y'know...hiding. She could hear this person watching her, she could feel their stare, and she knew the general area it was coming from but she just couldn't see them! At least not until a small child suddenly stepped out from behind a tree she had been staring intently at. She gasped and jumped back a little with a look of surprise, blinking and just looking down toward where the girl was pointing. Oh...the pansies? She turned her head back up to look to the girl again, not quite sure she liked the look on her face.
"It's just something I've always been able to do...I grow plants and things. See?" Tyyne gently bent down and dragged her finger along the grass, making it grow taller. Oops! Oh well. Slightly taller grass wasn't so bad, right? She smiled at the girl, hoping that answer was enough. "My name's Tyyne! What's yours? Are...you alone?" That was strange! She was so little! Where was her mother or father? Come to think of it, Bug had been by herself too. She hadn't seen any kind of parent come looking for her. Maybe she just hadn't seen Bug's mommy or daddy. They'd parted ways rather quickly, after all. Since Tyyne felt so terribly sick from...eugh. She didn't even want to think about it. But if this girl was all by herself that was just awful! Someone could take her or hurt her!

"Whoa!" How'd the girl do that? Tarot crouched at patted the ground a few times, face scrunched in concentration. The grass was unmoved by her attempt. "Can' do it," she complained, falling backwards on her butt in the grass with a pout on her face.
The deer girl had given Tarot her name, so custom dictated she give her name in return. She wasn't sure why she had to, but Sev said it was just polite to do so. "I'm Tarot." She didn't answer the second question, since it should have been obvious she was alone. Besides, Sev said to never tell strangers that, in case they wanted to steal her or something.

Tyyne watched quietly as the little girl crouched down to attempt this feat herself, rubbing the back of her neck and tilting her head a bit. Nothing happened. Of course nothing would happen...Tyyne had always been able to do this, it didn't seem like something just anyone could do. She stepped a little closer and folded her legs underneath her to sit by the girl after her failed attempt, giving a soft chuckle and reaching to pet her hair of the girl didn't stop her. "I'm sorry. I've never seen anyone else who could do this...I'm sure there's something you can do though! My sister makes fireworks...and...and my friend Vance is all slimy! And, um...my friend Ryuusei! He does things too!" She wouldn't say he granted wishes for fear someone would hear and then try to take advantage. It was in all the stories! She didn't want that to happen to her sweet little dragon friend. But if they were able to make things happen then surely this girl had some kind of special gift as well! She just had to...
"It's very nice to meet you, Tarot." Tyyne said with a smile, dropping her hand to fold them neatly on her 'lap'. "Would you like me to make a flower for you? Any one you want, I'll do my very best!" Because even Tyyne messed up every now and then. It was fine that the girl didn't answer her other question, since it was pretty obvious she was alone. But why was someone so little all by herself? Maybe she was...lost? Oh dear! If she was lost then her mommy or daddy was probably so worried about her!

Tarot made a small face at the hair petting, but otherwise made no comment. She never understood why everyone seemed to like to putting their hands in her hair. She'd complained about it once to Sev, but he just smiled and said she had such pretty hair people couldn't help it. And then he ruffled her hair. So now it was just something she knew would continue to happen, and used her talents to avoid it when she could.
The talk about others who could do things was somewhat interesting. Tarot was not aware if she herself could do anything special though. The only thing different about her was her stripey skin, though you did have to look close to see it since the stripes weren't that much darker than the normal color.
The offer to make a plant for her was what really interested Tarot. She straightened up from her pout, eyes looking excited. From the pocket of her pants she pulled out a fragment of a purplely plant. The lavender sprig had seen better days. It was now dried and a little crushed from being in a pocket for so long, but dutifully continued to release it's unique scent.
"Can you make it better? It's pretty and smells nice, but it won' grow. I don' know what I'm doin' wrong." Her lip quivered a little as she stared at the much loved (and abused) plant.

Er...what? Tyyne blinked and just stared at the thing in Tarot's hand. What was that? She'd never tried to save a flower before...her flowers tended to live a little longer than average flowers but even they had a limited lifespan, but she'd never actually tried to bring one back to life after it died. And this flower was definitely dead. It was deader than dead. Any deader and it'd be dust in the wind...well, no. That was a lie. It already was dust in the wind. That poor flower! So mistreated! Tyyne frowned and rubbed at her neck, looking at Tarot and then at the flower again. Yeah, even if she could there was just no saving it. She'd have to grow her a totally new one. But what was it? Tyyne held her hand out for the flower remains, sniffing at it. Hmm...oh! She knew that smell!
"Well...you see...flowers can't survive in your pocket." She told her gently, putting the fragments on the ground so she could dig a little hole with her hands. Time to give this flower a proper burial. She placed the lavender into the hole and covered it, patting it down a bit. "They need soil, and water. And air...and sunlight. If you put them in your pocket you'll crush them and they'll die." Tyyne raised her hand from the ground, seemingly 'lifting' a few lavender sprigs from where she had just buried the very, very dead one.
She was almost hesitant to let Tarot have these after seeing the way she'd so severely mistreated her last one...but...maybe if she promised to take good care of these?

Tarot wasn't a delight clapper, she was too dignified for that. Her face did light up in happiness. She reached for the plants, trailing her fingers over the fragrant blooms.
"I didn' wanna kill 'em, I jus' wan'ed ta make 'em grow by the house. Sev said you cou' take pieces off the plant and grow a whole new one, bu' he didn' say how."
Tarot looked up and around herself. This was very close to her house, maybe she could keep them here. "Can you show me how ta make more grow? I kin come back and visit them, my house is close by."

When Tarot reached for the plants Tyyne had a moment of internal panic. Was she going to tear them out of the ground?! Wh-what would she do if she did that? Could she save them from this fate somehow? What if she killed them again? Oh no, oh no, oh n--oh...she just wanted to touch them. Okay, that...that was alright. Good, good. Phew! She was so worried for a second there! Well as long as she did want to make them grow, but Tarot obviously couldn't do it the same way Tyyne could. She'd have to teach her how to do it the regular way.
"Well most people get plant seeds. I can show you how if you like~." Tyyne giggled when the girl actually asked her how to do it, giving her a nod and standing up. Of course she'd show her! But she'd rather Tarot not have to leave her house to see the flowers; that meant Tarot would have to take her to her house, which could possibly help with calming down her no doubt worried and frantic parent who had no idea where their child was. Everybody wins!
She helped Tarot up, humming thoughtfully for a moment before she seemed to decide on what to do next. "Would you like to ride on my back? It'll be faster. I'll show you where to get things to grow pretty flowers just like these!"

Tarot eyed Tyyne's back. "How'm I gonna get up there," she asked, pointing at the board expanse of brown fur higher than her head. She had never been on anything other than her own two feet. If it meant she could get to learn to make things grow she supposed she could try.

"I'll lift you up and put you there, of course." She said with a soft chuckle, tilting her head a little. She looked ready to just scoop her up right now but not everyone was a fan of that. She'd only tried it with Vance, but she still respected anyone else's personal space. "It's up to you. Just if I carried you on my back it would let us get around a little faster is all." She didn't want to pressure Tarot but...it would be a lot easier if she could carry her.

Tarot eyed Tyyne's back speculatively. "All righ'," she said, reluctantly agreeing. She could try it, just this once. The toddle held her arms up in the universal "pick me up" gesture.
