The sun was near its midpoint, hanging high overhead with only the blue sky surrounding it. It was a cloudless day with no chance of rain, probably to the chagrin of some, but the lone stallion shifting among the tall grasses rather enjoyed the heat. It warmed the blood in his veins, made him active and eager to tackle this next day head on. In reality, he merely hoped to discover at least something today; though he'd at first been interested by the change in landscape from his forested home, it now grew dull and weary upon his eyes.

He was confident in the way he moved and proud, his head held high and his steps steady and long. Though truly a strange blend of genetics, the roguish wildness to his features only seemed fitting, and if nothing else, his impressive horns were enough to keep most hungry predators temporarily at bay. Those that still pursued him quickly found that he was no easy meal, and while his hide bore faint scars of such incidents, it only made the stallion more proud.

What better way to prove himself than show that he was a strong, capable warrior? But it was not battles that had drawn him out of his family home, but the thirst to see and know more. What sort of Soquili lived outside of the familiar forests? There was more than just his little family, and he was determined to discover those secrets one way or another.

She was standing at the edge of the land where the western swamp gave way to the forest. This was the furthest she had ever been outside of her mother's own 'domain'. She turned her head and looked over her shoulder, ears moving at the sounds around her. She lived to explore, and was really quite content that her mother seemed to pay her sister more attention than herself.

Quauhxochitl was the free spirit, seemingly, of her small family. She came from a line of proud, strong and protective females, which ultimately was alright with her, but she didnt want to feel like she could never leave the jungle. There must have been so much more than just protecting your land. Her head turned to look out at the forest again, her head lifted a bit as her nostrils flared, taking in the scent.

Her eyes gazed over the clear boarder of the forest before they fixed on something else in the distance. She could only see the outline of the darker male, picking up his strong stance instantly. Hm.. maybe this forest was guarded? She shook her head a bit to clear the hair from her eyes, her jewelry jingled softly as she tried to get a better look. She noted the outline of horns, or antlers as well. Maybe this wasnt a good idea... but she didnt see any wings, and if anything, she could just fly out of danger right? After another long moment she finally took a deep breath and called out, not too loud, so she wasnt even sure if he would hear her.

'Is this your forest?' she figured she would get right to the point, she didnt want to waste his time.

He heard her, a twitch of his ears singling as much, and the stallion swung his head to find the one whom had spoken. What he'd been expecting, he couldn't have said, but certainly not something as... elaborate as she was. In truth, she seemed to be almost his opposite in many ways; from her vivid colors to her wings, the flowers and feathers that decorated her thick mane. Their only similarities were the bands of metal both slung around their necks--but even then hers was showy and brazen, and set her remarkably apart.

Agro wryly thought that compared to this strange mare, he could almost call himself humble in comparison. Well, at least as far as appearances went.

"As far as I'm concerned, one can't exactly own a forest." The male said without hesitation, not about to hide his amusement. "But maybe that's common where you come from." Where he bore traces of being fit for the mountains, he doubted this curious strange would do quite so well in the cold.

With a small twitch of his tail, Agro went on. "Looks like a hindrance." He jerked his head towards the chain that seemed to be somehow attached to her nose, and mulled over it with a faint grimace. Not good for any sort of fighting at all--not when an opponent could get their teeth into it and tear it straight out.

She was finally able to get a better view of the male now and her ears perked more. In his own looks, he seemed almost brutal looking. She took a deep breath, rather happy she hadnt run into him in any place other than the open. Gods only knew what kind of hunter or beast he was with his natural colored pelt and seemingly vicious horns.

The words of her mother sounded easily in her head. The warnings of males. Either they were idiots that barely knew how to fend for themselves, or they were idiots that felt they had something to prove. In the end, they were all idiots. She shook her head a bit, pushing out those thoughts, and by his looks alone, she found herself more weary of him than automatically feeling he was incapable of anything.

His words and voice seemed not at all threatening, and it helped to ease her a bit. She finally offered a small smile at his response and nodded, her jewelry jingling a bit. "Ah, alright then, hehe," she responded. "I just figured it would be right to ask, I didnt want to intrude."

It was a common thing where she came from, but on the same hand, she knew others must have different ways.

She blinked a moment when he referred to her piercing, she even looked around a bit before it dawned on her what he was talking about. Her nostrils flared a bit, feeling the weight of the chain, and she just kept her smile, shrugging. "I wouldnt know. Ive had it as long as I can remember."

Tho she didnt move, she thought it rude to at least not offer something else and she bowed her head a bit in respect. "My name is Quauhxochitl," she said easily, "I hope Im not intruding... or bothering... I was just wanting to explore new areas outside of my own home."

"You aren't." He said curtly. What was with women and being confusing? The times that they were actually intruding or bothering, they didn't seem to care, and the times they weren't, they just wanted to nag about it? He didn't understand women at all...

Clearly that chain was something natural to her by the way she seemed surprised at his question, and the stallion narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. "Guess if it floats your boat." And didn't get snagged on an eager, too-low branch of a tree or something. That'd probably deter her right quick.

Mila blanched at her name for a moment, the strange syllables nothing like he'd ever heard before. "Quauhxochitl? You really aren't from around here. The name's Milagro."

Impatiently tossing his head to dismiss her concerns, he plowed right on with the conversation. "Four wings? Better than just two, I wager?" A brow quirked, but he didn't seem to be mocking her, a rough smile quirking at his muzzle briefly.

She blinked a bit at the male's rough words and tone, and for a moment, that was it for her. She found herself falling quickly into her 'royal' upbringing and she snorted in response.

"Better than being stuck on the ground," she smirked back as she motioned to his own wingless body. Keeping her smirk, she seemed to loosen up a bit, once she was prompted to drop the niceties.

"How about those horns? Do you actually know how to use them, or are they too heavy for your delicate brain?" Her sense of 'playing' tended to be a bit on the harsh side, but in these moments she figured he could either hang, or he couldn't. It wasn't often she had to be proper, and this stallion certainly ended her attempt fairly quickly.
