Lysia_nyteblade:
Steps out through the grass looking up at the tree line. It had began to get cold which was starting to effect the change of the color of the leaves. Sitting she just watched the leaves in wonder, pondering what actually made the change happen.. how it worked..
Berri:
He blinks as he sees Makoto coming out and smiles lightly, coming closer to her. "H-hey, Makoto. H-how are you?" he asked softly, sitting next to her.
lysia_nyteblade:
Her ear twitches and turned acknowledging his presence before she turned her head finally taking her eyes from the tree tops. "I'm fine... How's my butterfly?" A faint blush crept to her face as she looked back at the trees.
Berri:
He flushed lightly and smiled wider. "I'm okay, what are you looking at?" he asked and edged a little closer to her. He looked at her, then up, where she was looking. "Heh...the leaves are pretty, aren't they?"
lysia_nyteblade:
She nodded. "They're starting to turn colors... I wonder what actually causes the change from green to golden or red or brown.."
Berri:
Chou shrugged and leaned against her a bit. "I dunno..must be something complicated though," he murmured.
lysia_nyteblade:
Smiling she rested her head against him. "I suppose so.. then again I think most things nature provides us with could be argued to be complicated." She chuckled some.
Berri:
He laughed lightly and nuzzled her. "Yeah, I think you're right, some things in nature just seem like magic to me," he said and chuckled lightly. "Like the seasons changing...flowers growing...heh, caterpillars turning into butterflies."
Lys:
"Frost making lace like formations?" She smiled and huddles closer to him as a breeze picked up with a slight chill to it.
Berri:
He smiled and shivered a bit from the chill. "Yeah, and the weather going from hot to cold like this. We should go inside somewhere, so it's not so cold."
lys:
Nodding she stood and looked for some sort of place they could use as shelter from the autumn chill. "Hmm.. I think I see a small den like cave over in the distance.."
Berri:
He nodded and stood with her, smiling lightly. "Sounds good, let's go?" he asked and took a few steps forward, waiting for her to come with him.
Lys:
With a light laugh, she nodded once more and set off following him.. "Wonder if that den will need some grass to make it a bit warmer..." She was thinking of how to keep a place warm so they wouldn't be resting on the cold stone floor of the ground.
Berri:
"Hmm..maybe.." he murmured and spotted a patch of leaves, veering toward them a bit. "Think these would help?" he asked with a smile. Anywhere with Makoto would be warm enough for him, and he blushed a bit at the thought. His next thought was that though it might be enough for him, he wanted her to be more comfortable than that.
Lys:
Looking at the leaves she made her way to follow him closer."Ooo! I think those might do nicely.. though we should probably keep from getting too many big sticks with them..." She wondered for a moment just how they were going to manage to move them not to mention what if the den was already occupied...
Berri:
He nodded in agreement then looked around for a way to carry them and spied a box some two-legger must have left. "Oh, look!" he said and bounded away for it, coming back a few moments later, box in mouth. He dropped it beside her. "We can put the leaves in this!" he said a bit proudly, tail waving behind him.
Lys:
Circling the box, she surveyed it for a moment before nodding. "I think that should work nicely." Smiling she picked up some of the still pliable and greenish leaves in her mouth and dropped them in the box only to give a small look of disgust. "How.. in the world do some animals eat this stuff??"
Berri:
He smiled wider, glad she approved of his find and leaned down to pick up his own mouthful as she spoke. He blinked and the taste filled his mouth. A moment later he spit them into the box with hers. "Ick! I don't know...it tastes nasty to me. But they'll make a nice place to keep warm," he said and picked another mouthful up, careful not to bite down too hard.
Lys:
She nodded in agreement though she pawed at the pile of leaves till she's manages to kick enough into the box to fill it. Why hadn't she thought of that before she's subjected her mouth to such an awful flavor? An inward shrug and she grabbed one of the rope loops with her mouth waiting for him to grab the other.
Berri:
Blinking, he copied her movements and kicked more leaves in as she did. Blushing a bit, he took the other loop and started for the den.
Lys:
Luckily the den wasn't too far off from where they'd stopped to get the leaves. Setting down her end, she peered into the den sniffing about some before entering the dark opening. the entrance was a bit tight but that suited her fine. she figured the less easy it was for something big to come in the more secure she'd feel. The den seemed to open up and grow wider as though it was an old wolf den long since forgotten though no bedding had been laid down. turning she exited the den and nodded her approval once more. "I don't even have to dig to make it wider inside." She smiled wide.
