"Augh.. Dang'it." Mashina gave a heavy sigh, fur dripping wet with pond water as he stepped out from the secluded watering hole he'd visited that afternoon. But it seemed he'd stayed far too long, obvious with the stars dotting the sky above and the dark cloak of night around him. "G-gah..." He muttered as he gave a shake, the water from his soaked coat starting to chill him in the slightly colder night air. He hadn't been expecting to be here for so long, taking his leave from guard duty for the day earlier than he usually did to relax for a bit and take his mind off things. "I shouldn't have got sidetracked." Mash' told himself with a grumble, still-wet mane hanging over his face and dripping a few drops to the plain dirt ground below him as he walked. Grumbling as he shook himself yet again, the male leaped a small ways onto a nearby slab of rock, lying down on the smooth surface to wait for his fur to dry.
Hm, hm, hm~ Dinner. Maile gave a toothy grin as she creeped through the tall savanna grass, paws twitching in anticipation as her eyes were set on her current prey of choice: an African Grass-Owl. "Unlike you, little bird, I have the element of supri-Woah crap!" As she lunged at the bird, it sprung into action, taking flight and nearly knocking the lioness in the face while she was in mid-leap. Stumbling forward, she landed with a 'thump' onto the thing closest to her out of control body: Mashina's back.
"Gah!" As soon as Maile hit him, the lion gave a loud gasp for breath, the wind knocked out of him by the highly unexpected impact. Immediately shooting up from his relaxed position on the slab, he threw the other feline off his back, scrabbling to get off the rock and away from whatever the hell had just attacked him. Panting harshly, he whipped around and glared at the unknown attacker with ice blue eyes. Ugh, things were starting to get blurry. And.. and he felt a bit dizzy. "What the.. hell... are y-" Mashina hit the ground hard as he collapsed, flopping down onto his side and panting hard in his unconscious state.
Oh boy, did her head hurt! "Hn.. Ouch." Picking herself up off the ground and getting back on all four feet, Maile gave a slow shake of her head. What on earth had managed to fling her backwards?! Surely it wasn't that stupid owl.. Giving a blink of her eyes and a huff, she stepped onto the smooth slab of rock Mashina had been lounging on just a moment ago, looking around in search of the fling.. fling-er.... flingy thing. Bringing a paw up to smooth out her tuft of 'mane', she sighed. At least she wasn't dea-
Oh dude, was he dead? Eyes widening as the female gasped, Mai' got off the platform and made her way over to the nearby lion's unconscious form. Had she landed on this male? "C'mon, guy, wake up. C'mon.." Biting at her lip, she gently nudged at Mashina's body with a paw, trying to wake him up. "Aw gods, I didn't mean to! Maaaan." Maile allowed herself to flop down on top of the other feline's body, burying her face in her paws and rattling on to herself about killing this other lion. She didn't even know the guy was near her, let alone in the general area, but she still managed to kill 'em!
"Uuuugh.." Mashina groaned, awaking a little after the lioness had started to talk to herself, rubbing his face against his paw. Very dizzy and disorientated, the lion began to shift underneath Maile, attempting to push himself up with his front paws.. only to feel the weight of something on top of him. What the h-..
What the-..
I just...
I.. I don't even know.
Wait...
WAT.
"You... YOU!" Somewhat dried fur bristling along his spine, he bared his teeth and let out a roar, completely ignoring his wobbly state and standing up, ending up with Maile thrown over his back like an odd lion.. saddle. Snarling as he stormed over to the watering hole, Mashina flung himself into the water, along with the annoyance of a female.
