Granted there might not be much call for costume design or even accessories but she had to try something special to earn money for both school supplies and her own spending money!
The masks on one wall were arranged by Twelfth night style crowns up until New Year style party hats on a nearby rack.
The racks themselves had capes and basic gowns to either dress up or down as needed and she had the supplies - with the ability - to suggest any reason or accurtument -- for wanting to be as noticible or blend for the festivities as needed.
Few would know Eliza had some experience dressing up for Mardi Gras balls back home and as recently as Katrina to work with little to no pocket money - thus her designs would be affordable but easily one of a kind as those she hoped would frequent her little shop.
Complementary pralines (brown sugar coated nuts) and a combination of smooth or "hot" jazz complete the ambiance.
