Welcome to the happy family! Okay, maybe they're not so happy. Maybe they're pretty much COMPLETELY dysfunctional. This contest will be for two of these pups -- the black male and the gray-masked male! I'm sure you're eager to hear more about the family, so lets get on with it! But first, some rules.

arrow Play nice. CJ and I are suuuuuper laid back, but our decision is final and we don't want sourpusses in the thread. ): This is a happy time!
arrow These boys MUST remain in the Nguvu`Utawala Clan! It is a concept clan, but one that CJ and I are totally in love with. Please read up and be sure that it's something that you want to be a part of! Keep in mind that the clan is ENTIRELY Matriarchal. Entirely! There are some RPs there if you want to read through them, and I'll be adding more very soon.

Okay, meet the family!!

The (unwilling) Father!

Bekeli is... well, to put it simply, Bekeli is a giant sissy. He's probably one of the most annoying and whiny hyenas around. He's frantic, he's needy... you might be asking yourself why Bahari would have pups with such a terrible creature. Well, Bekeli is loyal to his Queens, Bahari and her sister Dikeledi. Frightfully so. He's going to be the unwilling punching bag to his daughters, and pretty paranoid about his sons.

The Laid-Back Mother!

Bahari is as laid back as they come. She feels males are below her, not in a mean and angry way like her sister, but more of a "they're dumb and worthless and make me laugh" sort of way. She does like to laugh, and she will be an attentive mother. She finds Bekeli amusing in a pathetically stupid sort of way.

Dikeledi (CJ)
The complete opposite of her sister, Dikeledi is arrogant and brash. She looks down her nose at males, finding them completely useless and weak, and gets touchy when she's caught being nice to males in any way. She is better than you and she knows it. She is sassy, bold, will never admit she's wrong, and hates lions with a deep passion.

Sudaj (pinchmonster)
Sudaj is like the stereotypical car salesman that you see on television with his slicked back hair, fancy man suit and perfectly groomed facial hair. You know you can't trust him to be honest in his dealings, and he uses pretty words to get what he wants. Persuasive to a fault, he always looks a little stupid when his plots backfire (and they often do). Currently panting after Dikeledi.

Manyara (CJ)
A stupid, stupid lion. Bahari suggested they keep her when they stumbled across the dim-witted creature. She will be a chew toy for the pups to use and abuse. Not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. She's too stupid to realize what's going on. Bahari finds her amusing, Dikeledi thinks she's disgusting, Bekeli agrees with whatever Bahari says, and Sudaj couldn't care less.

Owners of the other three pups:
Zalika -- pinchmonster: First born. A female. This automatically makes her far superior to her siblings in every way. Zalika is a princess, she is better than you, and she idolizes her Auntie Dikeledi. Bossy to her siblings, especially her brothers, she tries to tolerate her sister.
Kepo -- CJ: Second born. Wishes he was female. Since he looks like Dikeledi, he thinks he should be her heir. He will be a constant tattle-tale, running to Auntie Dikeledi to inform her of everything his siblings do, but he won't hesitate to cry to the other adults as well. Should Dikeledi have pups, his heart might just explode.
Kibibi -- _Shouko_: Third born. A pain in her father's a**. She's a Daddy's girl. A horrible little, Daddy's girl who terrorizes him with love and rough games, like "who can bite the hardest?" "How long will it take for Daddy to save me if I go jump in a deep watering hole?" "Let's hear Daddy cry again!"

Uru's attention span is about the size of his pinkie toe. There is none. The only thing that keeps his attention is his mother, whom he stares at daily with his mouth agape slightly. He doesn't talk much but when he does, its in elaborate spurts of excitement and glee. "WHOO BIRDS" but truth is, he can be very calm and relaxed when the moment calls for it, especially after play time has taken place. Playing with siblings. Playing with his favorite toy, a old dried out scrap of fur he found. He calls it his munchy.

Name: Aniweta Nigerian name meaning 'brought by a spirit'.
Personality: Accident prone, shy, and quiet. He tends to blame the accursed nickname 'black sheep' for all his misgivings. He tends to distance himself from others for fear of rejection or being made fun of by those he loves. Night time is his favourite time, as he tends to blend in with his surroudings.

Personality: There is something ... wrong with him. It isn't sure what, how, or where but he smiles entirely too much. Even when he is insulted or verbally dressed down by females he simply smiles and giggles a bit it seems to be out of nervous habit though. He seems to have a bit of his mother's laid back attitude so long as a female isn't focusing on him, whatever will be will be sort of thing. He also has this creepy habit of sitting down and staring at others when he's able to get away with it. Just saying nothing and staring but when questioned he won't tell anyone his thoughts or observations if there were any, probably because he honestly only had wind whistling about within his head.

Name: Isono (Bad deed)
Personality: Cruelty seems to seep from the little male's pores. A fake smile hides a quick, calculating mind. Had he been born into the pack a female, there would be a good chance he would kill his sisters off till he was heir. As it is, the dark male will likely be found abusing Manyara as often as possibly simply because she is a female that he won't be punished for hurting. The only person safe from his wrath is Sudaj, he admires the slick ways of the older male..even if he thinks him a fool for chasing after his aunt.

Name: Igola (means wild cat)
Personality: Perhaps something went wrong in the womb; or maybe it was the result of his sisters sitting on his head to long...but whatever the reason was poor little Igola got his wires crossed somewhere. He is not a hyena, he is a mishapen lion. To further confuse matters, Bahari is not his mother, Manyara is and no matter what proof is offered to the contrary nothing will change the little boy's mind. A dotting son, he will follow his 'mother' everywhere; defending her from those meanies who pick on her.

Name: Shamim [['Fragrance' in Swahili.]]
Personality: Sham' is a little sniffer, always wanting to shove his nose into a nice patch of pleasant smelling flowers, unique herbs, a bed of dried grass, anything that smells good to him... other hyena's fur sometimes, which can get him into trouble! Letting his nose lead him most of the time causes him to be seen as a bit of an annoyance to others, with him following right behind quietly them before gently pouncing on them so he can rub all over them to try and get the good smell on himself. He means well, though, and will be more than happy to leave people alone if told to. Shamim is also a stereotypical little boy, a little rougher when it comes to rough housing with other males, but a gentleman when it comes to the ladies.

As a pup, he'll start to collect flowers and occasionally fur he finds, storing them in secret hiding spots when he can, but will often be found carrying a current favorite around in his mouth, such as a strange flower or even a tuft of fur from another hyena. Sham' will keep his boyish charm as an adult, and start to slowly give away the majority of the flowers he's hoarded as gifts to the females. :3

Name: Tunduzi (Swahili, watcher)
Personality: Tunduzi is a clever pup who seems to devote all his energies to adoring his sisters and mother. They say jump, he asks ‘how high?’ His brothers and father have his affection though not necessarily his respect, so they’ll be the ones he’ll wrestle with and play tricks on. Tunduzi was raised to believe that it should be his utmost duty to please the females in his life, a mindset he’ll continue to carry into adulthood. Though he’ll be somewhat less of s suck-up as he matures, he will always obey the females of his clan without a second thought. It’s tied up in his personal pride as a male to serve his ladies well, even though truth be told his mother and sisters will always come first no matter who might have the higher authority in the clan.

Name: Cetshwayo "the slandered one"
Personality: Cetsh is a flirt, often past the point of what the clan considers proper for a male. Because of this he will tend to get himself in trouble with the females, and regularly make their ire worse with teasing. It is not that he is mean, simply not too bright and much too vested in his own interest. Like his father, he is needy, but manifests it in seeking any sort of attention, kind or violent. Any violent attention will then translate itself into his treatment of the lion slaves. He will be loyal to his Queens and females, but an ever present grudge will exist in the back of his mind prodding him to push them just a little further.

Personality:Milinzi is protective of his siblings even though he is fourth born. He acts tough but he wont stand up if an actual fight come is way. He is not much of an exporatorive pup, but he doesnt mind a little alone time. At times he tends to be most like his father, he doesnt really like to take chances and tends to be a little paranoid of meeting new people.

Personality: He is probably the most mature of his siblings. He tends to be a little more solitary and would rather watch his siblings play then actually join in. He feels like his family doesnt understand him since hes the old one out. He likes to go out and roam alot, but will always come home at the end of the day.

Personality: Askut is silent, and obedient. He'd rather fade into the background then make himself known to any ridicule. However, he's fast to obey every command and is completely submissive. He'll, however, listen to adults before his siblings, but he'd listen to Zalika before Kibibi. Despite being silent and obedient, once he feels frustrated enough, he'd take it out on any of his brothers, but not his father since he feels Daddy goes through enough s**t [except in cub words 8D;]. In a nut-shell, he's the quiet kid in the corner who you don't want to mess with because he's creepy and you don't know what's on their minds, but mixed with a skittishness that comes from the domineering females.

I'd imagine he'd be fairly thick-witted, but with a thirst for knowledge and a longing to be noticed more (but not brave enough to seek attention).

Name: Ehioze(eh-HE-o-zay) - He who stands above envy.
Personality: Ehi is one who doesn't mind taking orders. Infact he seems to take pride in his duties and enjoys making the females happy and seeks to use this time to develop his "skills" so he might be found suitable. He is a complete subordinate, at least when it comes to the females. Around the males, especially his siblings, he wont take any kind of bullying from them or will take acts to put them in their place. Over all I see him being either a good warrior, a servant to the females since he both enjoys it, and sees it as his duty.

Personality:Otieno's personality is a mix of his parents and a bit of his own. He has is dad's loyalty to the females and is needy but not in the same since as his dad. He feels the need to prove himself to the females. Like his mother he has a tendency to look down on others. He is a bit of a romantic flirt. Always going after the girls hearts. He loves getting them to sown for him. Sometimes it's like a game but he makes sure he never hurts them because he respects the females but he does like to make things a bit harder on them by teasing them or doing something.

Name: Bawah'ibu - Under mother's tail
Personality: Just like his name suggests. He is like the lap dog to his mother. A momma's boy and is like the 'watcher' of his other siblings. He has an odd sense of humor and won't hesitate to play a trick on anyone he feels he can get a good laugh from. As he gets older- he would be the man to go for when something goes wrong. He is drilled on his mother's ideals of males being lessor and yet still holds the title on his shoulders of his mother's lappy son. Bawa loves to show off if he can and tries to off-pawly shrug his dad aside and on the inside calls him a coward. Only because he is mother's first line of entertainment and gives his sons no chance to be the star in mother's eyes. Therefore- when he gets ages and fixes things.. he will try to set the example of a good male strong male to a female's side. Females- ALWAYS get the last word. He has a strong distaste for lions and feels the need to put them under his paw anytime the moment calls for it- which usually gets him to become a little more serious when doing so on the matter of lions.

Name: Bingung - confused~ will also go by the nickname bingo.
Personality: The youngest- and the punching bag to his sisters. He is the smallest of the litter but thinks he has a fighting chance at being the leader of the pack! Well- not really. His ideals of being a girl is very very wrongly misguided. He thinks just because he is the smallest he can get away with anything. Even bothering the 'princess' of the litter. He will often be caught being most like his father and will mimic him at times just for the laughs. Bingo will also be princess's right hand in crime and won't hesitate to do whatever she says if it gets him some attention too. He is also the one behind a lion's back trying to bite it's tail and play tricks on the bigger~ and more stupid of the species.

Name: Maafa (Misfortune in Swahili)
Personality: Maafa is one unlucky little hyena. The youngest of the litter, he also has to deal with being born male and being far and away the runt. Disaster after disaster seems to follow Maafa everywhere he goes - if there's a hole in the area, he'll fall in it. Bees nearby? He'll upset the hive and get stung. Try to impress someone by catching a rabbit or stealing a kill? He'll cause a stampede and nearly get squashed. Regardless of this, Maafa still tries his hardest, and refuses to give up to the lot in life that he was born to. He may be unlucky, he may be clumsy, he may be the runt of the litter, the youngest and a male, but dang it all he will make something of himself someday! If the bees don't get him first, that is.

Name: Kero (Meaning 'nuisance' in Swahili)
Personality: Kero is a brat. Always into everything, following everyone, and never, ever failing to cause trouble for the people he's around. Kero doesn't understand the meaning of the words 'shut up', and will keep chattering on about nothing in particular until whoever is near him wants to tear their own fur out. It's never about anything important, either - Kero gets strange ideas and decides that it must be discussed right now, and can't wait even if his mother or siblings are busy doing something else. Some of his favorite topics include why bees have stings, why he wasn't born pink (because pink is an awesome color, you know!) and why Manyara is so stupid. He also has a talent for popping up when he is least wanted, and always turning up underfoot when something important is happening, all ready to discuss the important subjects as why the sky should be green and the grass should be purple with blue spots.
