User Image Kichaa'noga walked with purpose today. She had heard that a new pad who had joined the pride recently had come from the outside, and was not born here. It made the fur on her skin crawl. The prospect that this pad knew about the outside world. A world in which she watched from the edge of the pride during the night time hours, so she wouldn't be caught and punished for her fanciful dreams.

She had heard the Pad's name was Dahabu-ausi and looked like Banu Ukoo, who she had only seen from afar. In fact, most people she knew she only knew from afar. She had actually never met most of the people in the pride, directly anyway. Offhandedly, sure, but that wasn't the point.

Kichaa noticed him off in the distance and slowed her gate some, not wanting to appear as if she was far more eager to speak to this male than she should. Sure, it was probably not considered appropriate for her to approach him, but what the hell. He had information on the outside world, experiences that didn't include being a fat lazy pig, hitting her mother and turning her sister against her. Being punished would be worth it.

As soon as she came into earshot she called to him, "Good day, Pad."

She did not want him to know that she knew his name. Perhaps play the encounter off as a casual conversation from a pleasant little Banu.

Dahabu had been sitting and waiting. His cubs and Beybanu were due to be meeting him soon, so their daughters could have storytime and lessons from Daddy. He was a good Pad...but he wanted his daughters to be as well-educated as possible. It wouldn't do for them to be thought 'inferior' by a future Pad. He wanted no heartbreak for his baby girls.

When a small voice interrupted his thoughts, he startled a bit and looked down, curious. Ah. The little girl couldn't be any older than his own two daughters! He smiled slightly. "Good day, Banu. Have you gotten separated from your sisters and mother?" She didn't SEEM lost but...well, some creatures dealt with being lost rather calmly.

"My mother and sister don't care where I happen to be," Kichaa replied to Dahabu, the still happy little grin spread across her face. No talk of her mother, sister, brothers and subsequent Pad could dampen her spirits today! She had found the Pad from the outside and she was going to ask him any questions she possibly could about the outside world. After a few introductions of course.

"Ch- I," Kichaa stressed, attempting to correct her habit of referring to herself in the third person, "I was just going on a stroll and noticed you there. It'd be rude of me to pass and greet you good day, wouldn' it? I'm Chacha. What is your name, good Pad?"

Maybe if Kichaa attempted to pass herself off as one of the best Banu out there, he'd be more willing to talk to her. Up till now any Pesar or Pad had been very reluctant to speak with her, or just treat her as some lowly Banu, which she wasn't.

Dahabu frowned. Oh. Poor girl...it was a shame her family didn't much care. He knew he and Jasiri would be worried if any of their daughters were lost. He did smile again though. "You've very good manners for your age, than, Banu Chacha. My name is Dahabu-ausi."

She seemed a nice little girl. Reminded him a little of a less boisterous Enu. "And it is a good day, indeed. Much better than when I first arrived here! Would you believe it was storming and pouring rain when I first came upon here?"

Rain? It was raining when he first got here? Wow... Kichaa didn't even remember the last time she saw rain, or even if she saw rain. Did she ever see rain? She'd have to ask her mother that when she went home tonight, if she actually made it home before everyone was asleep. She had made a habit out of not going home until everyone was asleep. She couldn't stand the crowded bodies, or having to deal with the babies and her sister. Her mother and Egemen were the only real reasons she went home anymore. Otherwise she'd sleep outside, wherever she wished.

"That's unfortunate," Kichaa said, "I'm sure you'd have rather had nice clear weather for your home-coming."

Kichaa hoped he wouldn't feel offended if she brought up the fact he had lived on the outside. She was so enthralled with the idea of people living on the outside of these borders that any little morsel of information about it made her almost giddy like she was one of those silly Banu in love with one of those idiot Pesars.

"I hope I'm not imposing, Pad Dahabu-ausi, but I heard of a Pad who came from the outside. Would that be you who they were talking about?" It took every ounce of Kichaa's will to keep from referring to herself as Chacha. She was trying to break that habit, to make herself seem a little more normal and a little less weird, but it wasn't easy for her.

The gold-maned lion nodded. "Indeed, it would have been nice. But I got to see my Mother once more. And I've found a home now. Were it not for that storm, I do not think I would have found Mother again." After all...the storm had made he and Jasiri stop.

The little Banu's question made him blink. And then he chuckled, his smile kind. "Why yes, that would be me. I'm only one of a few though." Such a curious little Banu...while other males might have found it offensive, Dahabu found it refreshing and flattering. "Why do you ask?"
