[ Chakra And Stamina System ]

-_-_-Chakra (チャクラ, chakura) is essential to even the most basic technique; it is the molding of the physical energy (身体エネルギー, shintai enerugī) present in every cell of the body and the spiritual energy (精神エネルギー, seishin enerugī) gained from exercise and experience. Once molded, it can be channeled through the chakra circulatory system, which is to chakra as the regular circulatory system is to blood, to any of the 361 chakra points (called tenketsu) in the body. Through various methods, the most common of which is hand seals, the chakra can then be manipulated to create an effect that would not be possible otherwise, such as walking on water, exhaling fire or creating illusions.
-_-_-Normal chakra is a form of energy all living individuals naturally produce to some degree. Contained in the "chakra coils" that mainly surround and connect to each chakra-producing organ, the energy circulates throughout the body in a network called the "chakra circulatory system" (similar to the cardiovascular system). Certain groups, such as ninja, have learned to generate more chakra and release it outside their bodies through their "chakra points" (tenketsu) in order to perform special techniques (jutsu). Chakra is not normally visible to the human eye, though chakra can be seen in situations where a person releases as much of their chakra as possible. This is rarely seen due to the restrictions of certain chakra points (Eight Gates), limiting the amount of chakra an individual can release at a single given time. Chakra can also be visible when doing a specific techniques (such as the Rasengan) which take a high degree of chakra control to perform.
-_-_-Of the many different types of techniques, ninjutsu, genjutsu, dōjutsu, and so on, all require the use of chakra. However, taijutsu is different, usually requiring no chakra use whatsoever; stamina is all that is needed. While the ninja still needs a set amount of chakra to live (i.e. life force energy), regular taijutsu doesn't require any active molding or manipulation of chakra (with few exceptions). A standard attack like a punch or kick falls into this technique category.
-_-_-Chakra is the resulting form of energy when two other forms of energy are mixed together. The two energies are referred to as "physical energy" and "spiritual energy." Physical energy is collected from the body's cells and can be increased through training, stimulants, and exercise. Spiritual energy is derived from the mind's consciousness (i.e. the soul) and can be increased through studying, meditation, and experience. Having these two energies become more powerful will in-turn make the created chakra more powerful. Therefore, practicing a technique repeatedly will build-up experience, building up one's spiritual energy, and thus allowing more chakra to be created. As a result, the ninja is able to do that same technique with more power. This same cycle applies for physical energy, except this time, instead of doing things like meditation, the ninja could, say, do push-ups.
-_-_-Based on which ninjutsu the ninja uses, the amount of chakra will be different, as would the element the ninja employs. The five main elemental types are also the names for the Five Great Shinobi Nations: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth and Water. Each ninja has the potential to better utilize one of these styles and potentially more. Rinnegan users somehow have the ability to more easily control all five elements. Advanced elements such as Wood Release and Ice Release are created by combining different elemental chakra types. Doing this is only possible with a kekkei genkai or having a tailed beast with such an element in canon. However, the first movie has shown that shinobi of the Land of Snow are able to perform Ice Release techniques without a bloodline by manipulating the ice around them.

-_-_-In short:
  • Chakra is a form of spiritual energy which allows for the usage of Ninjutsu and Genjutsu and other supernatural feats.
  • Stamina is a form of physical energy which allows for the usage of Taijutsu and Bukijutsu and other physical feats.

      _E n e r g y ○ P o o l s _____
  • The D-Rank of your First Class tells you what your base chakra and stamina pool numbers are. These are added to the base chakra and stamina numbers of your second class.
  • When you rank up, immediately add both chakra pool and stamina pool increases to their respective pools for your character.
  • Should either your stamina or your chakra pool fall below 5 at any time, your character falls unconscious. If either pool should drop to 0, your character dies.

      _Chakra And Stamina Regeneration:_____
-_-_-Just as the body rejuvenates from wounds with time, so too does it rebuild its available chakra and stamina. The charts below detail how much chakra and stamina you regain for every post you submit that you are not fighting or performing a strenuous action. All recovery amounts stack if multiple conditions are met (i.e. out of battle & relaxing, etc.).
    During Combat:
{5} chakra and stamina is regained for every post submitted in a battle scenario while not directly engaged with your target. Moderate movement is fine, but performing or preparing techniques or attacks of any kind is not.
    Out of Combat:
{15} chakra and stamina is regained for every post submitted while in a non-battle scenario. Movement is fine, but performing or preparing techniques or attacks of any kind is not.
    Resting:
One-twentieth (1/20) of your maximum chakra and stamina pools is regained for every post submitted while relaxing; something along the lines of enjoying a refreshing activity.
    Sleeping:
One-fourth (1/4) of your maximum chakra and stamina pools is regained for every submitted post of peaceful slumber.

      _Cost of Techniques:_____

    [ Ninja Techniques: ]
Chakra is needed to perform ninjutsu, genjutsu, and many other things. Below is a simple chart that displays those chakra costs:
        Rank E+ • { 005 } chakra.
        Rank D+ • { 010 } chakra.
        Rank C+ • { 020 } chakra.
        Rank B+ • { 040 } chakra.
        Rank A+ • { 080 } chakra.
        Rank S+ • { 160 } chakra.
        Rank S+ • { 320 } chakra.
        Rank X+ • { ??? } chakra.

    [ Simple Techniques: ]
Stamina is needed to perform attacks such as physical ("simple") taijutsu and bukijutsu. Below is a simple chart that displays the stamina cost of such techniques.
        Rank E+ • { 005 } stamina.
        Rank D+ • { 010 } stamina.
        Rank C+ • { 020 } stamina.
        Rank B+ • { 040 } stamina.
        Rank A+ • { 080 } stamina.
        Rank S+ • { 160 } stamina.
        Rank S+ • { 320 } stamina.
        Rank X+ • { ??? } stamina.

    [ Complex Techniques: ]
Complex techniques cost both stamina and chakra to perform, and beat simple techniques of the same rank. Below is a simple chart that displays the costs.

        Rank E+ • { 005 } stamina OR { 005 } chakra
        Rank D+ • { 005 } stamina + { 005 } chakra
        Rank C+ • { 010 } stamina + { 010 } chakra
        Rank B+ • { 020 } stamina + { 020 } chakra
        Rank A+ • { 040 } stamina + { 040 } chakra
        Rank S+ • { 080 } stamina + { 080 } chakra
        Rank S+ • { 160 } stamina + { 160 } chakra
        Rank X+ • { ??? } stamina + { ??? } chakra.

    [ Spiritual Techniques: ]
Chakra is needed to perform special Taijutsu and Bukijutsu technqiues, called spiritual techniques. Spiritual techniques beat simple and complex techniques of the same rank. When interacting with physical techniques, Ninjutsu is treated as a spiritual technique. Below is a simple chart that displays the chakra cost of such techniques.

        Rank E+ • { 005 } chakra.
        Rank D+ • { 010 } chakra.
        Rank C+ • { 020 } chakra.
        Rank B+ • { 040 } chakra.
        Rank A+ • { 080 } chakra.
        Rank S+ • { 160 } chakra.
        Rank S+ • { 320 } chakra.
        Rank X+ • { ??? } chakra.

• Rank X ( Variable Rank ) techniques are capable of being activated with different amounts of chakra. This slightly differs from techniques that can be modified with additional chakra, but have definite ranks. Variable Rank techniques always have the necessary information for their usage within their descriptions.
• The cost to use a technique cannot be reduced below 5 chakra or stamina by any means.

Descriptive Ranks

Small, Flavor, Augment

Description
___Not everything is on exactly equal footing with everything else, even if they are all at the same rank. When someone's abilities lend themselves more to one area than another, an easy way to describe that is through descriptive ranks, which are small boosts to an action that don't necessarily move the effectiveness of that action up a full rank. For example, someone who trains in a speedy style of Taijutsu wouldn't have the same speed as a normal Shinobi; in this case, the speedy person would have a slight edge when it comes to speed. This edge would be represented by one or more descriptive ranks applied to speed.

Descriptive Ranks Regulations:
  • Descriptive ranks (D.R.) provide a slight edge in combat situations, but are relatively small until many are acquired. Six D.R. translate into one full rank change for the aspect affected.
  • A maximum of 12 passive D.R. increases can affect a character, excluding those gained by class disciplines. Techniques can be increased beyond this limit by their own effects and the effects of relevant stances, but the character is locked to this limit.
  • D.R. cannot increase anything past S+ in rank.
  • For crafted items and variable marbles, reaching six D.R. increases the base effect by 100%. (i.e. Six descriptive ranks doubles the base effect, twelve triples it, etc.) A variable marble that stores an E-Rank Jutsu would store a D-Rank Jutsu at 6 D.R., a C-Rank Jutsu at 12, and so on.
  • There are six descriptive modifiers. In order from least to greatest, they are: slightly (1 D.R.), mildly (2), moderately (3), heavily (4), greatly (5), supremely (6). Numbers of descriptive ranks can be referenced with these modifiers; for example, adding a "slightly" to something gives it one D.R., whereas adding a "moderately" would give it three more.
  • When using a technique affected by D.R., it is wise to place that information somewhere in the post to help avoid conflicts that may arise.
  • D.R. does not affect spiritual techniques.
  • Passive D.R. is only half as effective on complex techniques, but any active DR bonuses will still have the full effect. (i.e. A 6 D.R. boost to your character's reflexes becomes a 3 D.R. boost to a technique affected by reflex whereas a skill that costs chakra or stamina to boost reflex by 6 DR would still give its full bonus to a complex skill.)
  • Simple techniques retain full D.R. bonuses.

Acquisition
___Descriptive ranks are gained primarily through Taijutsu and Bukijutsu training. Many Taijutsu and Bukijutsu Styles contain training that increases one or more aspects of a character, based on what the Style is about. The major aspects are listed below, though other minor ones may be defined in certain Styles to enhance their flavor.
___Strength: A measure of the force placed behind an object. Effects the damage of physical strikes. Also effects the speed and strength of thrown weapons. This increases the damage output of an attack, meaning that a D - ranked attack with two Supremes in Strength will make it do B - ranked damage, but maintain the D - ranked speed.
___Speed: A measure of how fast you draw, how fast you swing, and how fast you physically move. Also described as "Agility", this increases the amount of stamina it takes to dodge your attacks. If swinging with a D-ranked attack and 2 supremes in Speed, it would cast B - rank Stamina or Chakra to dodge the incoming attack, but maintain the D - ranked damage.
___Fortitude: A measure of how much damage your body can shrug off, and serves as a counter to the Damage stat. If someone launches a B - ranked strength technique at you, and you have 2 supremes in Fortitude, the damage of the technique would be D - ranked, your body "shrugging off" two full ranks of damage.
___Reflex: A measure of dodging and how fast one reacts to incoming attacks. This reduces the overall cost of dodging, and serves as a counter to the Speed stat. If someone swings a B - ranked Speed technique at you, and you have 2 Supremes in Reflex, it would cost D - ranked stamina/chakra to dodge the incoming attack.
