"YAHOO!" The loud noise was definitely NOT a bug, nor was the goopy 'splat' that came after it. A white and brown little cub giggled as he landed in the mud, then proceeded to wriggle about in it, rolling and 'swimming' in the mud puddle. The rather LARGE mud puddle. He was obviously very happy, and soon...all that could be seen of the white in his fur was little speckles here and there.
Dege did so love the mud. It was squooshy and squishy and lots of fun. Heck...you could even MAKE things out of the really thick mud! You could do ALL sorts of things with mud!

 Mud. Mud was fun.
The little white cub padded delicately through brush, delicately being a relative term as, while her pawsteps were light, her fluffy greenish tail tuft was very quickly thick with briers and twigs. Mommy wasn't too far behind, she could almost still hear the lioness' voice if she went quiet and listened. But adventure awaited just beyond the trees! Or just past the bush actually. Not too far. Just enough to seem exciting but not scary.
Not that mud was scary. Mud was fun. And Theluji didn't seem to be the only one who thought as much. She watched the other cub curiously, wondering if he were really brown or just muddy before she decided it didn't really matter. Quietly, she settled down to dabble one paw in the mud, then both, giggling softly at the way it squish squish squished between her toes.

Dege was caught up in his play for a while, and didn't notice the other cub until she giggled. Then he blinked and looked over, mud dripping from his snout (it had been buried in the mud not a few seconds before, after all). OH! Another cub! He grinned, not caring if his teeth got muddy too.
"Hiya!" He gooped over, mud sloshing and squishing as he went. And then he sat not far in front of the other cub. "You like mud too? I'm Dege!"

Theluji looked up as the other cub slopped and sploshed towards her, instinctively inching a half step back at his approach. She wasn't scared of anyone or anything...she just...just...just liked mommy best was all. Her ears lay slightly back, but a hesitant smile worked its way across her features.
"Hi," she replied shyly, patting a small lump in the mud smooth again. "Uhm, I'm Thelugi. And...and it's...nice..." the cub mumbled, now drawing patterns in the mud. Swirls and loops and... and he was very covered in mud, wasn't he?

Dege nodded. "Nice t'meetcha, Theluji!" He was definitely not shy of others, very boisterous and outgoing. "Yeah...I like mud a lot." He pat one of his legs. "As you might see, I'm covered in it." It was a state he liked...at least until it dried. Because once it dried...it was bathtime. He perked up.
"Hey, didja know you can make things with the thick mud?" To make his point, he scooped some up and pat it into a mountain-y shape. "Ta-da!"

Theluji nodded shyly as he explained that he liked mud. He was covered with it, just as he'd pointed out. If she got as muddy as that her mommy would give her a bath to make her fur white again. Lots of white and light fur in her family, mud was really obvious on them. But he didn't seem concerned really, he was too happy to be playing. As she would be as soon as she was sure he was okay...
"Make things?" the little lioness asked, watching with great interest as he patted the mud into a mountain. Curiously, she scraped a small mound of mud herself, batting gingerly at the sides she found herself delighted with the way it shaped like his. "Wow! What else?" Theulgi asked delightedly.

Dege chuckled and nodded. "See! Mud is awesome~" He pushed a bit more mud up, close to her 'creation', but not touching it. Then proceeded to make a shape he thought matched hers rather well (in the sort of thinking only a cub could have). "You're cool. Much better 'n this one other boy I know. He FREAKS if you get even a speck of mud on him, the goob."

"Aw, that's no fun," Thelugi agreed, watching as the other cub made another nice mound of mud beside hers. If someone was really careful about staying clean, how could they play properly? She always got sticks and leaves stuck in her tail, but that was worth it for the exploring and adventures she got to have. If she was careful about not getting messy, then she wouldn't get to see all the things she got to see. Being clean was what baths were for.
"Do you want to make a wall of mud-mounds?" she asked shyly after a moment, looking at their creations all lined up side by side like that. It seemed like a fun idea to her...

"Yeah. Kamen's weeeeeeeird." He looked to the mud-mounds they'd made, then nodded. "Yeah! We could make a wall. Maybe two! Then...we could have a mud-fight!" Dege grinned. "We'd have stuff to hide behind, so it'd be a fair fight! No trying to find a hiding place and having a shortage!"

Kamen? Who was Kamen? It wasn't her brother or a sister, so it must be another new cub that she didn't know. She didn't know most of the cubs, so that meant most of them were 'new'. But Kamen, whoever Kamen was, didn't like mud. Now she knew something about someone she didn't know. Interesting.
"Mud fight?" she repeated, feeling a bit doubtful. She didn't know about a fight. But making mudwalls sounded like fun. "Okay," Theluji agreed after not too much thinking about it. Carefully she scooped up another pawful of mud, splatting it down beside her current mound. She'd need a lot more mud to make a wall. But there was no shortage of mud around here!

The splotchy boy nodded. "Yup, a mud fight! Basically...you throw mud back and forth at each other, until you figure one of you lost, and the other won. It's all sorts of fun. And you can duck behind stuff to avoid the other's mud. And stuff like that!" He helped her to try and build the wall, humming. "We're totally gonna make the best mud walls ever~"

Mud fight mud fight, sounded like a fun game to her. It wasn't like an actual fight which would be scary. It was just throwing mud all over everywhere. Which was just sounding like a really fun game.
"And then we can hide behind the mud walls," Theluji agreed gleefully, splatting another mound of mud on top.

"Exactly!" Dege worked studiously, little red tongue darting out as he worked. "It'll be awesome and epic win!" He hoped she wouldn't think his choice of words weird. If she did...well, he could always blame Coatl! She was who he got them from!

Theluji nodded, excitement and antipatation making her just a bit jiggery, splatting mud onto her face as she plopped another pile of mud to mold into their wall. Though she didn’t know the words he used, she understood what Dege meant. A mud fight would be extremely fun and not scary in the least. The prefect game.
She stopped every few mounds and listened just to make sure she could still here mommy. After all, mommy might call for her and she’d have to go. She didn’t want mommy to worry and she really didn’t want to lose mommy during their playing. That would be scary, to lose mommy. To be lost. Theluji shook herself. She still heard mommy’s voice, she was only scaring herself.

Dege wasn't nearly as worried about loosing his mother as Theluji was. Even when he hid REALLY well, his mother or father found him. Always. He continued making mud-mounds, concentrating on the wall he a his new friend were making. At least until it started getting too repetitive for him. The splotchy boy frowned, then looked to the other cub...and grinned.
"Hey Theluji!" And he stuck a muddy paw out to leave a pawprint on Theluji's cheek.
