I call bullshit. Sounds like right-wing propaganda.
This is why I don't rely on YouTube videos for my information.

skycamefalling I believe the videos. It's explained in the videos why. Well they didn't explain well enough for me to understand razz Maybe I am just brain farting??? Besides, there are certain religions that consider just about everything evil *coughChristianitycough*. (nothing against that religion, but in most of their eyes everything is to be feared if it isn't explained by the bible, and think the bible should apply to everyone. Not that there isn't anything to learn from the book, but everyone has their own path and any one path should not be forced on anyone) Besides I don't trust any video that disables comments razz

I'd say if you believe meditation and yoga ARE evil, then the government is actually that much more into controlling your pineal gland, rather than if you don't.

The only way Meditation is evil is that it focuses yourself on yourself. Or rather, bettering yourself to reduce stress, etc. I'm sure it's inception in ages past was much different, but I can see how people would consider meditation evil as it gives you a sort of free will.

Meditation alters your brain structure. Like (I believe) any thought engaging lifestyle(perception) would. It's not bad... if I wanted to pull a theory out of my a** I'd say they want to to spend more time infront of the tv. This article is fun, conservatives have a larger 'fear center'.... The only thing they need in the military to brain wash people is the use-and-abuse of psychology (like dehumanizing enimies by using racial slurs instead of calling them human).

of course it alters the brain it allows it to rest, it allows self exploration
but im gonna guess before i look at this that there gonna call any form of brain altering that isnt drug based to be bad, and somehow you can inflict harm on your own mind useing just your mind......

You've got fine points.
I've not watched or read any of these links yet, though plan to do so at a later time (and may post more on it then hopefully) but in the meantime, I as well would like to call Bullspit.
This is totally not something I'd expect, but perhaps I should start expecting just about ANYthing to be considered wrong and evil these days.
Self-indulgent? Free- thinking? Freeing of the spirit and mind for a time to cleanse the body?
RUBBISH! BULLSPIT!
To promote ''Free will and the pursuit of happiness''? Is this not what the Government and the heads of our community/town/county/country/nation should want?
No... it's very much (the idea from what I'm reading and hearing SO far mind you) a poor attempt at reverse psychology, if you ask me.
''Oh no, little child. Do not eat that apple for even though fruit IS good for you, red fruit is the color of the DEVIL and therefore is bad for you!''
No, actually taking time out of our BUSY LIVES from a government that has already been trying to control us (if that be the case) and think for ourselves outside of all our techs and things that THEY need us to do, something tells me that someone is afraid to deny what our forefathers would have originally supported.
This is only a method of obtaining such.

forget what you learned in the 21st century about meditation.
meditation is just deep thought about something including esoteric concepts such as blank space, nothing, emptiness, light, deity, etc. You can be walking home from work or school meditating, or even driving while meditating, given a routine enough trip.
Meditation is about directed focus - meaning you are focusing on something you chose, or directed yourself to focus on. Here's where the changes in the brain take place. By recurring thoughts or focus, you can change your brain for the better, but also for the worse, depending on the techniques you use. I recommend looking into the mozart effect and the effects of voudan music on the brain, and then appropriating what the potential outcomes are.
Your ability to do things is based on how you wired your brain, not on how your brain is wired. They sound the same, but they aren't. We wire our own brains through our decisions, even if we don't know we do. Eating a candy bar or snorting cocaine or masturbating while watching megaviolence videos can all wire the brain in different ways, often destructive. Meditation is what happens when you "knowingly" participate in wiring your brain.
Therefore, how you meditate determines if you are building self control, or tearing down the self and caring such that you become an obedient slave.
The time to cease caring is in the torture chamber, not in the voting booth. The time to cease caring is when you are powerless, not when you have the ability to change your own circumstances. You should be wiring your brain, aka meditating for self improvement, and the ability to resist the worst of what's to come, because mark my words, the worst is coming, and in your generation, before most of you die.

the action of meditation has been used for thousands of years... how can the government control us with it? a white devil government controlling its people with an action which channels your thoughts into the funnel which falls into your next decision? i doubt it. a lot of youtube videos claim to be educational but they throw you off instead. and how can yoga be evil? good AND EVIL are mostly a semitic concept/belief.yoga is an ancient system of breathing practices, physical exercise, postures, and MEDITATION intended to integrate a persons mind, body, and spirit. so from both you get freedom a level above the ground. how is that evil? someone please answer

I of course agree with you all, i don't see how yoga and meditation could be evil.
The only danger i can foresee would be going to one of those meditation and gemology/aromatherapy seminar and ending up wrapped up in an orange sheet, head shaved, writting a big cheque to that lovely old guy with the long silver beard just before he goes to teach "universal love" to a few 12 years old.

Meditation and yoga are wonderful for physical and mental health. No doubt about this whatsoever. Clearly the videos were made to create fear and help demote free thinking. I get a kick out of watching propaganda videos like this, they make me giggle and once in a while laugh hysterically. rofl
