She was larger now. Better for bringing down prey, something that Malenga was letting her do more and more often. Of course, he kept a very close eye on her, but she was a good meal winner when he didnt feel like doing it. She had grown up rather lovely, her black pelt that liked to soak up the sun and make her far too hot for her own good. She supposed she liked that Mal liked to travel in the darkness.

If all she had to worry about was the moonlight, things could be worse. And so long as she obeyed and did what she was told, she was safe from Malenga..and he was strong enough that she knew she was safe from other things as well...If he chose to defend her which gave her a bit of anxiety in
itself. What if she was so expendable, that danger would be nothing to him and he'd abandon her.

So she had kept up with her hunting, her fighting, trying to make sure she was strong.. She had to be strong.

She layed on her belly, the darkness having just blanketed the lands. They were resting until it hit, and she looked at him wondering when he was going to want to get on his journey. They had traveled so long, and tirelessly, and he could not find his mate. It made her sad for him, but she half wondered
if the other was even wanting to be found if it took this long just to find her.

Malenga was sitting silently beside the girl, just contemplating where else he might search for his beloved. He was starting to think that she was simply playing a game with him. Like she had been walking behind him the whole time, keeping just out of sight while watching him the whole time. Annoying little bird that she was, it was entirely likely. Than again, he had been re-tracing his sterps a little bit as well, and hadn't spotted her spying on him.

She probably knew what he was doing without being anywhere near him. Sometimes he suspected she had magical abilities.

Sighing heavily, the moody male looked down at the ground, watching the few blades of dried grass between his toes. Not being able to find her was weighing heavily on his mind, leaving him quite sad. Hell, he probably wouldn't have even chase his servant should she run from him. Though, they had been traveling a while now. Together. His mood around her actually improved a bit. Not too much, but still. He wasn't horrible to her ALL the time.

Maybe she wasn't thinking about running away from him.

She looked at him, but did a good job not to seem like she noticed the weight on his mind. She knew it had to be hard not to be able to find the mate that you so loved, and she just.. was no where. No matter where they went, he couldnt find her.

It made her feel sorry for him, though again it was something she would never tell him. She had no intentions of leaving anymore..

She didnt mind being around Malenga, even if it was as his servant. She saw through his cold exterior, and had taken to learning from him rather well. Hell, she'd even eat a lion if he presented it to her. She flicked her tail, and cleared her throat, hoping the wrath of the male would be easy if she had bothered him.

"So which direction today?" She asked, looking at him with ruby red eyes. She stretched her white toes, claws extended, and yawned. Her pink tongue curling out from her maw.
She was always tired now adays.. But it was likely the trip weighing on her.

The male let his blue eyes trail towards the female from the floor, another sigh escaping him, this time as he mused over her question. It seemed like it really didn't matter what direction they went in- she wasn't going to be found no matter where they went. Then why was he still looking for her? Oh, right, because he was madly in love with her and would follow her to the ends of the earth if he needed to.

Right.

"I don't know, pet," he said faintly, "you pick a direction. I'm tired of being wrong." He shrugged his shoulders at the thought of not being able to find her again. Maybe he just needed to move on... find a new girl. She was probably off playing with other males... he could mess around with other females. Females like... well...

She blinked, and looked around. She wasnt sure she wanted to pick a direction, because if it was wrong.. then she didnt want him upset with her. She supposed however, if she didnt give him a direction then she would be just as bad. So she stood, stretching her toes once again. She didnt like him so upset. Sure they werent friends..but in a way they had become such. Even if she was still being kept as a sort of slave in a way. She stayed more on her own accord, rather than fear lately. She wanted to help him, maybe it would make him happier.

"We could maybe head east, and if we dont come across her then at least we know we tried." She said, hoping to sound uplifting. She had never really been the type to be uplifting, but she sort of felt it was her duty tonight.

"Or we could go hunting, or.. go to the river for a drink. If you wanna take a break from looking for her. You'll find her, probably when you least expect it." She said with a small smile, hoping the smile didnt anger him much.

"We'll take a break," the male muttered lowly, "I don't feel like looking for the little slut right now. No doubt she's found her way into some other lion's den anyway." Or she was dead. At that moment, he wasn't sure which one he would be more alright with. At least if she were dead he wouldn't have to deal with her cheating on him with every male she met. She was such a pawful! Why did he even care about her so much? Just because she was beautiful... and quirky... and liked the same evils he liked...

God, he wanted to be with her.

Moving from his seat, he stretched his legs the best he could, trying not to look like he was too eager to do something to get his mind off the lady who was pissing with him. His eyes fell on his traveling companion again, his smile slowly starting to form. To hell with it- if she could mess around, he could mess around.

"You're probably right. Sometimes I'm actually thankful I found you. Have you grown? You look bigger than I remember..." Boy, he needed to look at her more often, he supposed.

When he spoke of a break, she sighed a breath of relief, sitting from her standing position. She let her tail sway side to side, as she looked him over.
She could tell the stress of finding his mate was wearing on him, and she wanted to be there for him.. but at the same time she knew to keep her distance in certain situations.
She couldnt help but want to be friendly and comforting. However that wasnt somethign Malenga liked all the time.
She smiled, trying to be reassuring, and then when he asked if she had grown, she looked down to look at herself. Raising a paw to her eye level, she looked at how big it had grown.
Last time she had visited the water, she had realized how big she had grown. It had caught her offguard and dumbfounded her a little. She supposed traveling for so long without hte chance to notice, you could go without realizing you had become that adult that you were destined to become.

She nodded, a grin on her maw. Well at least this was friendly conversation. She was pretty good with that part, and she knew she really couldnt mess that up.

"Yup! It seems almost overnight, though its hard to notice when you arent looking for it." She said, her voice amused.

"Though I hope its not bad that I got bigger.. It was destined to happen after all." She said, hoping that he wasnt upset that she had grown. She supposed she ate less when she was smaller..that could be a reason to be upset with the growth.

"I'm surprised you haven't been looking for it, pet," he admitted after a moment, watching her carefully, "waitin for that moment you could finally fend me off. I'da thought it'd be just what you were waiting for. Not that you could take me, mind you, even if you're all bigger and stuff. I'm still stronger, right? Don't get any sodding ideas. I'm already dealing with one lost female- don't want to have to worry about two."

Not that it would be the same thing. She was nice and pretty and all, but he... he was already in love with someone. He couldn't feel the same way about two females, he was sure of it. Still, even if he didn't love her in the same way... she was something important to him now. He felt like he ought to protect her if she needed it. What was that called?

Friendship?

"I'm not mad you grew up, why would I be? Happens to everyone, last time I checked. Just commenting on it, that's all. Think you look nice, actually. Very nice."

She chuckled, shaking her head. She had no intention of running off anymore. For the same reason as he would have to protect her. She saw him as a friend. Someone who she knew she would defend if he needed it, though.. like he said.. he likely wouldnt need help from teh likes of her. Still, it was good for her to be around, right?

"Oh I have no intentions of going anywhere, Malenga. You have my word." She mused, giving him a little smile. She wouldnt leave till he found his mate.. If he found her. If he didnt, would she stick around longer? She wasnt sure.. But then again.. She was sure she would after a bit more thought. Part of her hoped he didnt find her, if only to
have him want her around more. But she shook that thought out of her head. She'd prefer him to be happy.

"I do?" She asked, looking at herself. Had her pelt not been black he might have caught her blush. She was happy to be so darkly colored at the moment. "I dont know, I suppose if I wasnt so big, i wouldnt eat as much, or.. be in your way as much." She grinned. Though of course she was joking now. She knew that he wouldnt hate her for taking up room.

"I suppose I should look in the waters reflection more often." She smiled.

He smiled. "There's plenty of rogue land for two adult lions, I'm sure," he mumbled thoughtfully, tilting his head to the side as he continued to watch the other. She had become someone he could almost trust, which was weird. While he wasn't going to admit to any of his feelings about her, he could at least say that they were getting along better now than they had when first he managed to drag her along on his journey with him.

That was something, wasn't it? It was always baby steps when it came to opening up his emotions. Better than nothing, but barely noticeable from a distance.

"Let's find us a den somewhere to lie down a spell," he ventured after a moment, "wouldn't mind a bit of a rest since we were walking around a bit today. maybe we'll get some food later. I'll make sure to get enough for your larger frame as well as mine, yeah?" he was already on the move, leaving her to follow after him. Which he imagined she would.

The weird thing was, if she changed direction, he would probably turn around and follow her now too.

She chuckled again and nodded, eyes gleaming.

"Yes, I suppose the rogue lands arent going anywhere. What a silly thought." She responded. She noticed that he trusted her more, but she would never call him out on it either. If he didnt say it, which she was almost sure he likely never would, then she could at least just..-know.-

Finding a den sounded rather pleasant, as she would be happy to finally have someplace to lay her head, if just for a little while. Dinner also sounded like something she would love to have. When he joked about her larger frame, she almost busted out laughing, and stifled a giggle. He stood rather quickly, and began heading in a direction, of which she followed obediantly. It never even crossed her mind to go a different direction.

"A den sounds nice." She said, following on his heels. She looked over the scenery with her ruby eyes, and her eyes glittered in the moonlight. She almost had jewels for eyes in the
right light. However, the moonlight was rather perfect lighting. Her being happy, didnt hurt either.
