Had the flowers always been this bright?
Matilda lay on her back,nestled in the flowers as she watched the clouds drift by. The girl often came here on weekends when there was no school work. While most teens spent their weekends hanging out with others the awkward homonculous spent them alone in some isolated place. Seth would not be happy when he found out she was drowning herself in solitude again.
She followed a large cloud with her rusted red eyes as she thought of a good lie to tell him when she saw him again.

 Lillie walked out onto the field of flowers. She could use a couple of dozen for potions and what not. It was one of those moments that she wondered about her birth father. Where was he? Did she know him? Why hadn't he come for her? Then again those were just depressing thoughts that would just make her sad. The half-elf looked up to see another student. She didn't really know many people. The girl then walked over to the other. "Hello." She called out just being friendly.l

A fair haired girl's greeting startled Matilda out of her trance. Blinking a few times she stared up at the stranger dully before nodding slowly and sitting up even slower. The dark haired girl brushed some grass off of her stained,ripped dress before addressing the girl in her steadiest voice.
"Good afternoon."
It was admittedly strange that someone had approached her; due to Matilda's 'zombie' like nature people usually steered clear of her.

 Lillie smiled. "You know it's not a good idea to go anywhere by yourself. Don't you think you'll parents will worry." The girl pointed out. Then again she probably had no right to say anything. Or did she? Her mother pretty much dumped her in this place and she didn't even know her father.

Matilda stood up wearily,her joints creaking in protest. She had been lying in that spot motionless for a while now - and she was starting to feel the effects.
"My father is at work; he doesn't really care what I do."
She said in a gentle voice. The dark haired girls dress didn't even twitch in the breeze as she regarded the stranger for a moment as if just noticing her.
"They say my name is Matilda. Who are you?"

 Lillie smiled. "I'm Lillie Fitzgerald. My parents don't care much as well. Or at least my father doesn't. Then again I've never met him." The girl said sitting down net to Matilda. She started to play with a flower she picked. She looked at it thinking about what she could make out of it.

Matilda looked at Lillie and beyond her,a melancholy expression falling on her face.
"I don't have a mother,so I suppose you could say I know how you feel."
She offered quietly. The zombie like girl turned to stare at the looming mountains in the distance. The dark clothed girl looked very out of place among the flowers. ...Kind of like a crow in a snow field. She thought dimly. The girl looked back at Lillie and blinked.
"What are you doing out here anyways?"

Lillie stopped moving the flower in her hand. Did she mean the school or did she mean the flower field. Well she guessed that she looked like a student so it must be about the flower field. "I'm gathering some flowers for a potion. Potions and Herbology are my favorite classes." Lillie answered with a smile. It seemed to be the only things she was good at.

Matilda tilted her head and glanced down at the fair haired girl. She looked like the type you would see in those classes anyways; elegant and intelligent. The homonculous scratched her chin in thought. She would never be as graceful as Lillie. Not in this life time at least.
"Ah,I envy you. I've never been very good at useful classes like that. All I'm good at is weapon forgery - and using them of course. I'm also partial to alchemy too..."
And this was the truth. As a man made weapon of course she would naturally pick up the ability to wield many of these deadly tools. She gave a soft smile.

Lillie looked at the girl. Her useful. No way. She was bombed by students who asked her to make love potions. Love potions were something of a taboo when it came to potion makers. "Yeah. But what can a potion maker do. They can't protect people. What you can do seems better to me." Lillie told Matilda. It was truth in her voice.

"Think of it this way; potions can be used for healing,right?"
Matilda started slowly as she always did.
"Certain potions may not be able to say,protect people in a literal sense,but they can help them. They can lift a burden off of someone's shoulders,heal colds that could evolve into dangerous diseases,and maybe even change a life for the better you know? It just all depends on what you do with the skills."
She brushed a lock of hair out off her eyes as she finished.
"I rather be a potion maker than a soldier or a mercenary any day."

Again Lillie would have to disagree with what the girl was thinking. "Most potions that you buy at the store are made in factories. It's pretty hard to have a good private practice. At least with weapons you can create wands that help young witches and wizards control their powers till they're like Vice Principal Richardson." Lillie argued against her abilities.

"You could always change that you know."
She murmured.
"While its true I COULD create wands and staffs,you have to take into account what weapons are made for."
Matilda sat down next to Lillie fluidly as she stared at the flowers in though. The creaking/weary quality that her movement had held moments before was replaced by an unnatural, mechanical like quality.
"Vice principal Richardson? Is he as great as they say?"
She asked thoughtlessly in hopes of changing the subject. Arguing had never been her strong point; besides,Lillie would probably change her views in time maybe.

Lille thought about what the Vice Principal was like. She knew a bit about his history and she had heard all the rumors about him. "Well considering he is the strongest type of wizard there is he has to be great. Though most about what is known about him are just rumors and stuff." The girl answered honestly. There was always an air of mystery about the man.
