Description: It has been a long road, but now we have arrived at the fated Finals, where two people will compete to see who will be placed into history as the top fighter. The set stage is the same stage from the first round: a glossy floor with the GTB logo in the center. The only difference is that the time is evening with the lights blazing upon the ring while fireworks go off in the background to signal the drawing conclusion of this spectacular event. Sitting at the north end is Midus Sonners himself, watching the fight personally to not miss such an important event.

Field Measurements: The fighting area is a perfect circle with a 50 yard diameter. The walls that keep the fighters away from the spectators are raised up to ten feet.

Ten Count Boundary: The ten count begins whenever the fighter is knocked out of the bounds of the fighting area, such as into the spectator seats. The flying count out is also in effect, which means, if you stay above ground by your own will for more than ten seconds, you will be DQ'd.

Fight Ends: Sept 27th, 9:00 PM Central

Robyn strode slowly through the halls of the arena, tail swishing behind her in rhythm with her steps. Green eyes glittered, and fangs peeked out, but not from a smile. No, the fox girl wore a frown, almost scowling. She was pissed at herself. Even she wasn’t quite sure what had happened, she only knew that her last match, she hadn’t put in anywhere near her full capabilities, and gotten her butt kicked for it. So here she was, about to fight for third place along with the other semi-final loser. The vixen sighed, scratching the base of one of her ears. At least she had made it this far.

A smirk twitched one corner of her mouth upwards. And at least she’d made it further than Rylen. Although she still would have to kick his butt later. Cheered up a little by that prospect, Robyn’s head rose slightly, her expression no longer scowling. She still had one match ahead of her, at least, and for once, she knew who she was fighting. The fox girl thought it odd coincidence that her last match would be against one of the two people she knew from before the GTB. Life was funny like that, it seemed.

It was about that time that Robyn exited the interior of the arena out onto the glossy floor that brought back memories of her first round. She looked upward, chuckling as she locked eyes on the spot where she had jumped from. That seemed like an eternity ago. There would be no such stunt this time. She would not go out with a bang. People would remember her enough as the newcomer who beat Omi Barsait, and, hopefully, as the third place winner of the GTB.

Taking a moment to adjust the hat over her foxy black-tipped ears, Robyn awaited the appearance of her friend and one-time lover.

Previously...on the GTB!!

Round 1

The gauntlet, the arena, the field, the stadium, the coliseum, the ring...

No matter what you called it in the end it was really the same thing.

The Stage

And on stage is where entertainers thrive, their skills put to the test to entertain and persuade the myriad of fans to return and watch them again...and again...and again...

...Welcome Home...

Round: 2

But the liquid had also splashed on his mask, causing his right hand to rip it off out of sheer reaction to the liquid's biting pain.

“YOU STOLE MY FACE!!!” Saphen screamed in fury, his Al Bhed Cantata had quickly ended when the bard prepared his counter attack.

Round: 3

"You think you can control the true power source here...But I believe you are mistaken...you may be entertaining but you are NOT...AN ENTERTAINER!! Saphen's right hand darted forward, pointing his sacred bow at his opponent as his voice soared over the screams of the crowd.

"Only music can unite us and I only need music to defy you!!!!!!!!!!!"

The thoughts passed through the musician's head, each battle seemed like a distant memory to him...minus the last. Saphen laid in a medical bed in the infirmary, sweat pouring down hidden cheeks as a nurse looked down at him. Her rose colored cheeks were noted by the musician as well as a wrinkle of concern that lined her forehead. Like all other images of the human face they would soon be forgotten as he turned his gaze towards the large man gripping his broken arm.

"This is going to hurt..." she whispered gently before nodding at the man next to her.

Crack...

Saphen couldn't remember if he screamed or not as the medical staff fixed his arm. The bard now sat in a locker room, silence that was not becoming of a musician overwhelmed him.

The healing was a blur but the battle he had with Detric was truly lucid. Every action from the initial annoyance of a cameraman to the final charge played in his mind over and over again.

Saphen looked down at his right arm, opening and closing the gloved hand to test that it still worked. Scars scattered along it's length, memories of the metal shards his opponent had sent at him. Even though the bard fell short of victory once more he was satisfied with his results. To be guaranteed top four was an honor...but still he could go further. He owed that much to his audience...he owed that much to every fighter who had shed blood on the very floor he was about to walk out on.

Standing up the bard lifted his left arm, his Euphoria Millie popping out for only a moment before retracting just as quickly. "You did well..." he whispered to the plant as he looked forward at the entrance to the arena. "But Deitric deserves his title as well as his name...it is time for me to earn what I can."

The bard picked up his violin and bow, which had been sitting on the bench next to him before he left. Twirling the bow in his right hand he pointed it at the entrance to the arena before letting it slowly return to his side. The violin remained loosely in his left remaining just as pensive and quiet as he was. Each foot tapped quietly on the ground as the bard trained his focus on the giant door he had seen during the first round.

The crowd was cheering, the stage was set and his opponent was someone the bard had encountered in the past...so to speak.

It is time

The bard raised his right foot, kicking the door open in one powerful strike as he strode onto the arena floor. Neon lights scattered about him like insects to a flame before focusing on the musician fully. With arms outstretched Saphen screamed loudly to his audience.

"Let us cheer not just for me, but for my amazing opponent Robyn as well as Midus Sonners. A man who has graced us with his presence here tonight!" the bard pointed his bow at the man who now resided at the north end of the arena. It was that very command that caused the arena to erupt in an explosive choir of voices.

Now everyone is ready.

"At your leisure..." he said to Robyn gently but loud enough for her to hear him over the crowd, taking a moment to bow as he prepared himself for combat.

It truly had been a while since their last encounter. Their little chat during the opening ball hardly counted, after all. Robyn stood on the gleaming floor, bright stadium lights casting deep shadows all around. She watched Saphen make his entrance with a wry grin, chuckling at how deeply respectful he always was. Not that she faulted him for it, it was actually a welcome change from the others she’d met and fought so far.

Saphen
"At your leisure..." he said to Robyn gently but loud enough for her to hear him over the crowd, taking a moment to bow as he prepared himself for combat.

Of course, Robyn would bow back, her usual respective gesture. His was probably more of an artist’s bow, though. Hers was strictly martial arts, hand together in front of her chest and head low, although she never took her eyes off her opponent. For that’s what he was, their history together aside: her opponent. She would afford him no mercy, and the fox girl knew he would do the same.

Her movements were quick but controlled as the vixen pulled her staff from behind her, twirling and extending it in one fluid motion before the cold weapon settled with a muffled “smack” in her gloved grip.

”Always the gentlemen. Well. You know what they say.” Her smirk was amused and playful, happy at the prospect of the oncoming fight.

”Ladies first.”

Although it may have seemed like it, it wasn’t an insult at Saphen’s masculinity, made apparent by her sudden dash towards the masked bard. As usual, her “dashes” were somewhat zig-zagged in order to keep her mobility at its peak. When she reached close enough, about 5 feet in front of him, her right leg stomped down as she leaned to the left, sending her dashing towards the bard’s right. Her staff, left end held high, would come down in an almost baseball-like swing towards his back/side, across his right shoulder blade.

Saphen

Saphen grinned beneath his mask, his hands quickly raising his instrument to playing position. His gaze was trained on her torso, watching her actions closely as she dashed forward. Soon the bard was in rhythm with her tempo, his head nodding to the sound of her stomping feet as he raised his bow. Music surged forth once more, the crowd roaring with new vigor as the very music that Deitric had silenced was reborn.

"Lets see if a fox can stay ahead of the hounds!" the bard challenged as she drew closer, his feet slowly lifting off their heels in anticipation. The music was quick and powerful, predatory in nature, and truly intent on ensnaring his opponent before the fight had even started. Notes rushed out of the f-holes as quickly as Robyn drew closer...but the bard waited.

She was like a train, charging Saphen with the threat of crushing power and steel...but still he waited. Hidden eyes watched her shoulders move, her foot stomp, her body twisted, and the bow whirled about aimed to strike him. But while all of this was happening the bard's body was also adjusting. Saphen slid his right foot over slightly, keeping his right side facing her as she drew closer. His left foot slid back slightly, balancing his stance as he continued to weave his magic through music.

Saphen knew he had to wait as long as possible for his plan to work. It was imperative that she did not change her course of action and this required timing. The rhythm was set, the beat memorized, and it was at that moment Robyn's weapon shot forth. The bard quickly lowered his stance, ducking beneath the powerful swing as his bow slid off the strings. Now it was time for the true predator to strike. Saphen leaned forward slightly, springing from his crouched position into a lunge. His right foot leaped forward, stomping down in front of him as his left foot was dragged slightly. His entire body leaning into his thrust as his right arm stretched outward.

The sharp point at the end of his bow was an impressive thrusting tool and it was aimed to pierce into her newly exposed shoulder as the attack passed over him.

"Let us see who the true animal is," the bard said softly to Robyn as he finished his lunge. It was at this moment that the bard released his magic, entering the first stage of his earth buff. He knew all too well that a counter strike was possible...and he was preparing for it. His skin began to harden slightly but no one could see that beneath his all encompassing regalia.
