Lily and Lucifel tended to frequently spend the night together at the Song home, curled up in Lucifel's big bed. When their shared plushie, THING!, came to life, it was assumed it would share with them as well. At Lily's home, it was not really a problem for the critter to share with it's sister, generally preferring to snuggle up with someone than sleep alone.
Sharing a bed with Lucifel and Lily together was a very different matter. For one thing, Lucifel was not as neat as Lily was. She tended to just toss her dirty clothes around in a pile and be done with them, so her room tended to smell a little funky. Add in that Lucifel smelled like Mint and Clover, while Lily smelled like blueberries? That was just a nasty combination to be smushed between - and Lucifel looooved to smush them in.
As such, THING! had decided very fast soon as Felfel started snoring and Lily's gentle breathing began (Lily tried VERY hard to fall asleep first) it was time to get the hell out of there. This was not a good sleeping place. Wriggling out of the seeming deathgrip the green child had on the two of them, THING pulled tight its scarf and headed out of the room, quiet as a mouse and calm.
But where to go? First instinct was to find one of the other kids - children were more likely to be good to a wayward plushie and grownups were weird. The problem was who to go to! First option was Hannah – that wasn't going to happen. Just hearing about the child, Thing knew she was a squoosher. There was Enyo, somewhere around, but the rainbowy child was a definite thrasher – she'd never be able to stay still and THING! would end up choked with hair! Amelia? Slept in the stables and was too pointy – plus she turned into a horse, that'd be weird. Horses weren't for hugging plushies. Lil Squishy just wouldn't do – THING! wanted to BE squished not to be the squisher! Harley was a definite biter – THING! would like to remain in tact thanks! That left only one option.
Heading outside carefully, the white plushie child looked around carefully as it located the door to the room in question. Victoria wasn't quite a child and THING hadn't met her official before – having just seen the girl in passing - but she seemed perfect. She was elegant and pretty, with a large snuggly chest and soft features. Yes, she'd be just what THING! needed.
Carefully, the tot opened the door to Tori's room, deciding it was perfectly all right to just go in and climb into bed with the older girl. The girl, was, however, in the midst of some rather bad night terrors. She was thrashing a bit, but not in the way of someone who just liked to move at night, but more in the way she couldn't stop herself. THING walked over slowly, that eerie calm following it as the tot moved to sit by Tori on the bed and gently wake her up. If any creature in the world was a cure for nightmares, it was THING!

Tori, who never quite remember everything of the four days she lost, had once again slipped into that dark realm. That realm where bits of what she did know haunted her... even played tricks on her. It never failed that here her imagination would run wild when coming up with possibilities with what had happened in those days where she'd lost her memory.
At the particular moment when THING! had come into the room Tori, in her dream, had just gotten up from the plush chair in the study. She was bloody from having just had a snack... Philip was sitting at his desk. All was right in this world until the splintering of wood shattered the silence that had fallen on the room after the screams of men had passed. It was the moment that Philip had lost his head and his blood curdling screams could be heard that she'd given into her lust for blood. She was no longer in control of her body, all she could do was watch as she tore humans- hunters apart piece by piece by piece...
It was in this, where she wanted to get control of herself, that she was about to jar herself awake... to bolt upright in bed. But, something this time was strangely different. She found herself leaving the room and walking down the hall and towards the front door. She was, despite the recent events, at peace.
The moment she opened the door her eyes fluttered opened. Despite being 'alone' she welcomed this dark lonely room. She sighed softly and rolled over. To her surprise she was staring down a soft plush like... person (?). She wasn't quite sure exactly... Oddly though it reminded her of a larger version of what Lily and Lucifel carried around. "THING!?" She questioned as she pulled the covers a bit over her chest. Despite having questioned if it was THING! she was sure it was... After all even she had the smarts to know that any item that came from that Curio shop had the potential to come to life... she smiled softly and patted the open space on the large bed.

THING smiled that strange smile of its, the one where it's mouth curved out widely and it's eyes remained stationary. Here, it seemed not as creepy, but more comforting. As if the creature knew, somehow, exactly that'd gone on in Tori's mind and that it could very well chase that all away.
The tot moved from its seat to the open spot by Tori, snuggling up to the older Curio. "Room was too smelly and too squeezy, so I came here." the child explained, voice bland but quiet and at least establishing what was meant by it.

"A bit of well placed perfume is all you'll smell here," Tori said as she lifted the covers so that Thing could climb under them and get closer to her. She smiled softly at it as she reached out to run her fingers through the seemingly, and actually soft hair. "Thank you," she said in regards to it having eased her. She didn't know how and probably could never explain it either but she just knew that THING! was the cause for her sudden change in her sleep. She wrapped her arm around THING! and held it close against her... due to there only being a silk night gown between them it was easy for her to feel just how soft it was.

"One 'fume's not s'bad as Lucifel's dirty clothes, Lily's berry smell, and Lucifel smell." THING! agreed, snuggling under them and half throwing its scarf over Tori so she could share it too. The scarf was large and long and not really good for much but it was THING!'s and a gesture of affection none the less.
"Welcome. No more scaries for Tori." THING! agreed, soft, slightly fuzzy skin and stuffed body easily built for snuggling up with.

"I completely agree about smells and it being a horrible thing when mixed together," her voice was soft and just above a whisper. It was late and they were close together so there was no need for her normal voice.
"Your scarf is just as soft as you," she said as she used her other hand to reach up and feel it. She appreciated the jester more than she could express... it was few and far between that people reached out to her.
"If only you could climb into bed with me every night," Tori giggled. "I just might have to start coming to visit you..." she gave THING! another firm but not over powering squeeze. It was one that extended to say thank you again.

"Better than sharin with them all the time - Lucifel's a weird cuddler." THING commented, in response to Tori's wish. The creature nodded, nestling into the squeezes. "THING is very soft, just for huggling - but I don't want to be squished. That's why I'm not sharing with Hannah."

"I've never had anyone stay long enough to share my bed," Tori smiled softly. She wasn't about to admit to the tot that it was entirely her doing... things between them were going to well for her to want to scare THING! off... matter of fact she was really enjoying it's company.
"Yep! Soft, squishy, and oh so huggable," she giggled and gave THING! another soft squeeze. "Yeah, Hannah is working on that," she said with a bit more seriousness in her voice.
"If you are tired we can save the chit chat for morning," she knew first hand how small ones could get without rest. She herself could do with little and get by, she just didn't like to.

"S'not what Lucifel says." Thing joked, its weird voice still working for the teasing just the same. "But that's okay. Thing is here now and no one else is so that's what's impor'nt."
The tot shrugged, "Hannah's plushies don't say ow, so it is not as bad for them." They weren't like THING, after all, they weren't alive.
At Tori's question, THING shook its head, white hair wiggling a bit, "Not ired. Thing doesn't get ired." it explained, yellow eyes half lidded, but due to expression rather than sleepiness, "Just needs to be comfortable and snuggled and can rest whenever. Is Tori ired?"

She sat up just enough that she could pull THING! into her lap. Yes, it was more than right... it was just THING! and her.
"So what do you do with all the time you aren't sleep?" She was more than a little curious. She herself used the time to learn as much as possible. "I slept enough to get me through," she said in regards to his question of her being tired.

"Play games. Explore. Look at stuff." Thing explained, pointing to the shadows in the room. "Outside, they dance." it explained, meaning the shadows from the trees on the lawn. "Make shapes and are fun to dance with."
"What does Tori do?"

Tori followed the direction of THINGS! hand and for a moment watched the shadows 'dance'. "Kinda like when you use clouds during the day to find shapes," she smiled. "I do my homework, go out dancing, horseback riding, and a few other things." Those other things were not appropriate for the tot's ears.
"You know we have horses in the stable... we could go riding..."

Thing considered this for a few moments before replying. "Just not Amelia - Meely's pointy." the tot explained, wrapping its arms around Tori's neck to hold on. THING! was surprisingly light to have gripping one, and it was careful to climb up on Tori just right so it could half sit on her breasts rather than be just hanging as dead weight.
"Thing is ready to go." it stated calmly with a big smile.

Tori chuckled inwardly. It was settled then that they were going riding. She was very fluid in motion as she stood up with Thing cuddled against her. It was evident now that she was only wearing an ankle length, silk, night dress. It was dark enough outside that she decided to skip the house coat and go just for a pair of slip on sandals.
"I don't think we have anything pointy in the stables... Unless of course Amelia happens to be asleep in their..." She wouldn't put it past her sister. It was very rare the girl stayed human long enough to use her bed.

Thing nodded at that animatedly. "Yes. Pointy Meely is in the stables, that's what I said. She went out before Fel and Ly went to bed." the tot commented, riding along with Tori out to the stables. There the little one was able to point to the stall where the light furred unicorn had crashed. "See?"
"Horses won't be mad about being woken up will they?" Thing inquired, looking at all of the creatures with its soft gold eyes. They seemed nice enough but the plush tended to avoid bigger critters without supervision. Mostly because it was generally supposed to be with Lily and therefore Lucifel, and Lucifel would probably spook most of the critters.
