Name:Skye Raine
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Blood Type: AB+
Height: 5'9"
Weight: N/A

History: Skye's father and mother were both well known pilots. After they died in a "freak" Zoid related accident, her brother, Bethrous "Blade" Raine, took care of her until she joined her first Zoid team, which was actually a disaster. The team leader took her Zoid and kicked her off the team. She now owns a Bear Fighter, which ironically, was the type of Zoid her father piloted before his death.

Personality: She's... well basically a not-so-full of herself Bit Cloud. She's laid back when not battling with Zoids, and knows that there are others that are better then her out there, but that doesn't meen she isn't willing to try. She's very serious when it comes to battling. She's basically just enjoyable to be around and always willing to make new friends. She can become quite defensive when it comes to her friends, and will hurt you if you hurt them... badly She also doesn't like to be complimented. When asked why she just changes the subject.

Interesting Facts: Skye has a small marking under her left eye that, close up, looks like this. (image pending) It was tattooed there when she was young at a suggestion by her father, who had the same marking under his right eye.

Skye's brother "Blade" is actually dead. She doesn't know that yet though...

Skye often has nightmares about her parents' death.

Name: Syrus
Gender: Male
Age: Doesn't know. Skye guesses around 16 or 17
Blood Type: N/A
Height: 5'5"
Weight: N/A

History: Syrus doesn't know much about himself, except for that fact that his first name is Syrus. Skye found him burried neck deep in one of Zi's many desert-like regions. When he finally awoke they both discovered that he had no real recolection of how he got there, or even his last name.

Personality: Syrus often tends to worry over things, and feels that he is inferior to others. When not dumping insults on himself, he can be quite energetic and kind, and prefers to help others before himself. He is over all very sweet, though Skye is going to work with him on his self-esteem issues...

Interesting Facts:Syrus used to be based of the character of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and even though Mizu still loves him, she wants to have an orginal character as a pilot, but the name and personality are going to stay the same, just vamping up looks and stuff. ^^

Syrus is plaged by night terrors. Though simalar to nightmares, they are far more realistic and he cannot he woken until the dream is over. They often deal with darkness and being alone.

Because of the previous fact, Syrus is deathly afraid of the dark, especially when no one's around.

Brushing off the dirt, the teal headed femme pilot stood up on the dusty rock she had been sitting on. The sun blazed over head at the noon hour, sneering down of the girl with the long sleeved jacket.

"Nice try" she laughed as she took the brown top cover off, revealing a white sleeveless shirt underneath. She wasn't going to let a little hot sun ruin her lunch, which was spread on the surface of her bolder seating grounds.

A mechanical growl came from behind her, though it did not faze the usually cool headed pilot. Skye rolled her eyes and snapped her violet gaze to the green hatched Bear fighter that stood there, shifting it's weight impaciently.

"Would you hush Kuma? Food first, play later" She had decided to giver her Zoid a name, seeing as she had already seen someone with a Bear Fighter as well. She liked to be unique. Fumbling around, she plucked up a sandwhich wrapped in wax paper. Peeling some of it off, she took a big bite.

Ham with swiss cheese. Her favorite.

"We can have some fun after I eat" she consoled with her mouth full of food. As she chewed, she pondered her lack of team status. She was also quite hesitant to join just any team. Past experiance had thaught her that.

She then realized she really didn't know anyone who also was in need of a team. She hadn't exactly been around to meet anyone, let alone show that she was worthy of being asked.

With another big bite, she wondered how her brother was doing. Did he have another Zoid yet? Was he on the same team, or did he have a new one? Swallowing, she reached over for a bottle of water and took a large gulp.

Would she ever be in battle again?

She sure hoped so...

Darkness. That's all there was. Darkness and silence. All that could be seen, all that could be heard. It swirled around, taunting, mocking. There was no escape and no one to aide. There was only the darkness, closing in, melting away the flesh with its fiery touch.

"Help me..." The words bounced about on empty unseen walls, softly mocking attempts at someone hearing.

"Somebody...anybody...please..." So soft, so weak they could not be repeated. Pleading, it fell upon non-existent ears. Tears of hopelessness.

"Please...help me..."

XXX

Perched up high on a cliff that overlooked an endless field of sand sat a green hatched bear fighter, its pilot sitting comfortably in her designated chair. She and her Zoid had just finished a long session of training, and were now enjoying a well deserved break.

Brushing back a teal colored rogue lock, the femme pilot smiled. It was so peaceful here. So quiet and serine, so...

Her thoughts were interrupted by an uneasy shifting of Kuma's weight. Unsure of what was going on, she scoured the screen in front of her. Nothing.

"What's wrong? You getting hot in this sun?" she asked. In response the bear?s IR screen popped up, showing a sea of yellows and oranges. No surprise there, the desert was supposed to be hot.

"I don't get it Kuma..." A box appeared on the screen and shifted over towards the top right corner. Skye rolled her eyes. "All right, I'll bite..." All there was in that spot was a small red dot, but something about it must have put the massive mechanical bear at a state of worry, and it wasn't too far away. There was no harm in checking it out. Shifting gears, the bear lurched forward, all to ready to get to where it wanted to go.

XXX

A steady beat, coming, coming closer. Thunder that boomed in rhythm, many drums being played as one. The darkness still burned.

"Is...is someone there?" The beat replied, becoming faster, becoming louder. Something was coming and it shook the darkness. But the shadows would not let go.

Then the beat stopped

XXX

"Holy shneikies!" Skye shrieked. This was not good; not good at all. This was just supposed to be a simple check, a simple trip to show Kuma that she was just being overanxious, or something of the sort.

Little did she expect to find a head popping out of the sand below.

The hatch opened with a hiss of air as the bear's head lowered within livable jumping distance. With the sand making a muffled thud as she jumped down, she scrambled over to...whoever it was. Without even thinking, she shoved her hand into the sand.

"Please be okay..." she pleaded softly. She felt the body...moving. He was alive. She began digging around him with her bare hands, but the sand kept on sliding back into its place around him. He looked so weak, and the glasses that he wore were cracked on one lens and lacked a lens on the other side.

A low growl rumbled in Kuma's chest as it lifted one of its massive alloyed paws. Allowing the claws to sink deeply into the grainy sea, it then cupped its claws inward and pulled up, bringing the trapped person with it. As the sand sifted through the cracks, Skye was able to tell that the person was definitely male, and close to death. His breaths were so shallow, so labored. Skye prayed as she buckled him into her seat that he would be all right. Hopping into the small empty space behind it, the hatch closed.

"Kuma, to the lab! They've got an infirmary there!" and with that the Zoid reeled around and began sprinting as fast as its four legs could carry it.

XXX

He opened his eyes to a bright light, then closed them quickly again.

Light? Well at least that was a good sign.

He groaned as he rubbed his head, trying to coax the groggy pain away. Opening one eye slowly he could see the figure of?someone?sitting there.

"Where are my glasses?" he asked himself, knowing at once that he was without them. He could see the blurred outline shift.

"Broken," she said. So it was a she. He sat up, though it was painful to do so.

"Oh..." he said somewhat sadly. A hand, presumably his visitor's, fell on his shoulder.

"I took them to the local optometrist after I brought you here. He said that he would be able to make you another pair and said he?d bring them here when he was done."

"Thanks," he replied shyly. He then closed his eyes, trying to recall what had caused him to be in so much pain. He quickly deduced that his condition made it so. Turning towards the person, he tilted his head. "Where'd you find me at?"

"In the desert, buried neck deep in sand." Well, at least it explained the feeling of burning...

"I see..." was all he said in reply. Silence fell between them.

"I'm Skye. Skye Raine," she said cheerfully. He smiled at her warm introduction.

"Syrus. Pleased to meet you miss Raine." The woman chuckled.

"Please, just Skye." There was another moment of silence. "What's your last name Syrus? Where are you from?"

"I..." he paused. "I don't really know..."

The light teal locked woman yawned, and rightfully so. She had been suffering lack of sleep worrying over her new comrade Syrus, whom she had found almost dead in the desert. She visited him every day and stayed awake every night wondering how on earth he could have gotten there. It didn't help that he himself had no clue, or at least he didn't let on that he knew.

Perched up high in the cockpit of her zoid, Skye let her mind wander about Syrus again. She felt bad for him. He had no home or family, or at least one he could speak of. He always seemed happier when she came by to visit for hours at the clinic, and seemed sad when she left. After the third day she figured he must be afraid of being alone, and probably for good reasons. After all, she doubted he would have ended up the way he did if he had anyone with him, unless they were the one's who did it to him.

How sad to have nothing, not even memories. Sure, she had memories that she wished she didn't have, but she had good ones to. Ones of happy times filled with family and friend. Sy, on the other hand, had nothing. No good memories to look back on, or bad ones to learn from. He was practically an empty shell, though he seemed to deal pretty well, but then she didn't know Syrus all that well yet.

Sighing, Skye leaned back in the pilot's chair. Perhaps some of these questions would be easier to answer with some sleep...
