For me, I find the Wolf's Rain OSTs to be really inspiring. The music is beautiful, and I love to listen to the music on a rainy day.
But really, what can be inspiring changes. Muse inspires me to draw dark, psychologically thrilling images; Coldplay makes me want to illustrate depressing love stories (same with Frou Frou!); Postal Service has already inspired me to draw a couple of pictures, both of which were meant to be peaceful and maybe a little somber.
There's a slew of other artists and songs that I love. Music is something I need in my life. I really can't concentrate without it. I need it. I listen to music everyday. Hell, I play music. Brahms's hungarian Dances are amazing, by the way, as is Tartini's Devil's Trill. Really, there's so much music out there to be loved! I couldn't list everything I like if I wanted to!

x-x; yes, same here my music my drug. and I NEED my drug, many times a day. x_X;
ninja *prances off to grab music from NOT online, and CERTAINLY not off of limewire* =X
in response to my own question, far too many, I could make a HUGE post with just band titles. X-x; I'll most likely be throwing out random inspirational bands/songs as I post I assume. ^^;
first up: Malice Mizer, one of my all time favorite bands, and I have to say I've become a longtime fan of the artists' even after the break up (yes, even Gackt. He may be a slut, but he's a slut that can compose. ><; ) mostly though, Mana and Kozi. Especially Kozi. ninja and Mana. gonk they're both inspiring, gah.

My "favorite" kind of music can change at the drop of a hat (or beat), but I'm particularly fond of Bhangra - sort of Indian pop/rock/techno music. (Although inspired by traditional music from the Punjab region in India, most of it is actually produced in England.) Great stuff.
I pretty much like anything that's clever, infectious, and dance-able. Not terribly fond of happy-happy songs, but not terribly fond of oh-my-gawd-cry-your-eyes-out stuff either. I adore percussion, weird/rare instruments, and ethnic music.

(I noticed that everytime I get ready to post my list, I end up changing/adding/taking away stuff from my iTunes. |D;; I have country-christmas music on my iPod? *inherited old computer with alot of crap music on it that infected itself into her iPod* x-x; )

I like music in general... I mean, RARELY and I mean really, rarely, I go against music because its a certain person {{ie, britney spears >>;;;}}
but I like... pretty much anything thats R&B, hip-hop {{<- and that depends}}, country, yellowgrass...
I love anything I can dance to *loves dancing;;* and I'm REALLY fond of J-rock these days... @w@;;
that and the indian music I'm setting up a dance for at school~
I'll show my iPod list when I have time too ;;; *has over 50 artists* but yeah... to me, without music, I would fade, and be REALLY sad and all that crap~

Wowness...
Um, well... suffice to double on that idea that we seem to have a similar taste in music.
I'm not going to list the many artists in my collection, but most of them are up there anyway. XDD
The main stuff that inspires me are OSTs. Yup. Game, movie, anime, etc... OSTs are for me. ~dances~
And... and Dir en Grey, 'cause I jus' lurve 'em to bitsez. xd
