"Daddy!" Sauda chirped happily, quickening her pace to reach her father's side. Sylar paused in step, glancing back at the small filly that approached him. Her cropped up hair stuck in the air at odd angles. Red eyes, almost similar to his own, glowed with childlike happiness. She had her mother's long lion-like tail. He had learned, that when his child was in an especially happy mood, that it swung back and forth like a wolf's. Sylar smiled softly when his daughter reached his side. She took a moment to catch her breath, sweat dripping down her brow. The warm summer air had caused the both of them to work up a sweat.
The tree's around their herd lands offered some shade, but Sylar was currently checking an area that consisted more of open feilds. Their relatives were spread about the lands. He hadn't met any other besides his mate earlier this morning. Checking the Sun's position Sylar deemed it to be a few hours from night fall. He would have to make his way back to Neria soon. Usually she kept their children close to her during the day. Sometimes they would be sent out to play, but she'd still keep her eye on them. "How did you escape your mother?" Sylar asked his young daughter, curiously. He hoped that her mother wouldn't be fretting at Sauda's disapearance.

"I wanted to see you, daddy!" Sauda smiled up at him, her eyes squinting in her enthusiasm. Her headwings fluttered at the sides of her head, the wing's at her side flaring out. Sylar's brow rose. He leaned down to nudge his child's head affectionately. "Thank you," There wasn't a day now that he woke up alone. He would spend every other night patroling the herd grounds. On his nights off, he would go to bed with his mate and children.
Waking up in the mornings were always a experience. He had never dreamed in his life before meeting Neria, that he would awake to two small foals and a mare that he loved more than anything. He really didn't think that life could get much better than this. Everything had turned around when he had left his misery. Looking around, Sylar decided that the alpha shouldn't mind if he left his watch early to escort Sauda home.
"I appreciate that, darling. But what if something happened to you? You're not old enough to be wandering around by yourself yet." He scolded his daughter, his voice firm but lined with care. Sauda's low lip stuck out as she begain to pout. He wasn't fooled by the look when her tail stayed active. Sighing, Sylar turned around and started to head towards their home. Sauda praced close behind him, a small jump to her steps. "Do you believe that there is nothing out there that can harm you, child?" He questioned. He had this conversation with her before, but back then her attention wandered quickly. Sauda puffed up beside him, "Nothing can hurt me when my daddy is here!" She said, 100 percent confident in her 'invincible' father. As much as her thoughts touched his heart, he knew that it wasn't true. Of course, he would give his life before he let anything harm either of his children. "When you were on your way to me, you were alone. What if something had happened then?" Sauda blinked in thought and continued hardly a moment later. "I would have called for you. And you would have came," A sigh escaped the stallion's lips. "But what if I wasn't there Sauda? You remember what I told you? About Kalonas and Skinwalkers?"

"Yes," The foal murmured looking towards the ground and away from her father. She felt discouraged towards the whole ordeal. Surely not every kalona and walker were dangerous? "You say that they're big badies, and I'm not to talk to them," She started to pout further. One day she'd show him! She would make friends with one of them and they wouldn't hurt her!
"That's right, Sauda." The whole situation would have amused him if it hadn't presented itself to be a deal to Sauda. She was proving to be too friendly for her own good, and Sylar couldn't trust her to stay away from stranger Soquili.
They could only keep so close of an eye on her, with all of her energy. Each member had their own lives to deal with, and Sylar and his mate both had their duties to the herd.
