i see a lot of players play with such emotion, have you ever had a musical epiphany?

Ehh, I've never cried about a song, but I have been moved by a lot. If I heard our Marching Band play a song perfectly I wouldn't burst out crying, but I would probably do a happy dance xD

I don't think you can get very moved or emotional about my section (drumline). We kinda just sound like a clunk, and don't have notes but we do play a beastly rythm lol xD

idk what you mean by a "musical epiphany" but i like watching people who are really into what they're playing, and it makes it sound amazing. well, idk if thats what makes it sound amazing, but you know what i mean hahaha
but i absolutely LOVE heart heart heart heart concert pieces that are sad and make me cry. i'm not sure why...i just find it amazing that music without words can say so much...it almost makes other music seem lame, because they have to sing what they're trying to say...you know what i'm talking about? or am i crazy haha xd

Definitely! I was in our local County Band last December... I was in awe.

Here's what we played:
Star Spangled Banner ... John Stafford Smith/arr. Williams
Semper Fidelis ... John Philip Sousa
Lux Arumque ... Eric Whitacre
Yosemite Autumn ... Mark Camphouse
Old Churches ... Michael Colgrass
Japanese tune ... Soichi Konagaya

Wow. You wanted an epiphany? Hit section 'C' in Lux Arumque. You will cry... especially if you're one of the people in it. Insanely beautiful. And so are Yosemite Autumn and Japanese Tune.

I've had an emotionally (and physically) hard childhood, and music has been my savior. When those cramped notes resolve into a big beautiful chord (Em is my favorite haha), I can and have been brought down to tears. We have a college level honors wind ensemble, and we'll play all these crazy runs, and then in the background the lows will be pounding away low chords, and then we (the trumpets) come in piercing through the sound (we aren't blatty) (i like parenthesis), omg its amazing. So yeah, you can say I've had a musical epiphany.

Oh yeah, and when I play my trumpet, I do it with ridiculous emotion, im a dork. But you know, when I feel that music through my whole body, I always nail those auditions.

In 5th grade, when we had the first full band... I heard the two classes combine, I started crying while playing.. I still love listening to full band play.
