Arachne woke quickly. A nightmare, or at least, she thought it was. The memory of it already faded away with the morning breeze. The sun was coming up. Morning had come so fast, she thought. Though, she felt she slept pretty good. Her heart was now to a slow beat that it should be, and she wasn't even sure why she woke up now. She stretched her front paws out before standing up and stretching the back ones. She had rolled a bit away from her companion. With that thought, she looked to see where Raj was.
She didn't want to wake him, if he was still sleeping. He needed rest more then she. She could only imagine how hard it was to move around with no site. He always seemed peaceful though, never really caring that he couldn't see. He was so perfect in every way. At least that's how he saw it. Which made her believe it was true. For him, he was perfect the way he was. For her, well, he thought she was perfect too. Or at least, that's what he had said before.
Raj was sleeping nicley nex to his female companion. No bad dreams was bothering him at all. Not much was bothering him actually accept his toughts on what Arachne was to him latley. Of course she was his friend and companion since he could probably not make it without her since hunting and things like that was kind of hard for him. If she hadn't joined up with him when he was a cub things would probably look as good as they did now.

The he felt Arachne's warm body move away from his side...he lifted up his head a little bit and sniffed into the air to pick up her scent on witch side she was at. He was only half awake but if she was leaving he wanted to know where she was going. " Are you going somwhere...? " He asked her with a soft but tired voice. Maybe she didn't want to wake him up but he wanted to know where she was going even if she just wanted to strech her legs.
"No," She said as she noticed that he was awake too. Had he been awake the whole time? Or did he wake when she got up? She could never tell. She wasn't sure how much of a light sleeper he was. Or if he was just waiting for her to get up. "I was stretching" She said with a smile, even though he couldn't see it. It made her feel better. Perhaps he could hear the sound in her voice that would suggest she was smiling at him? One thing she'd have to ask him, but not now.
"Did I wake you?" She asked him. Hoping she didn't but if she had, well, there wasn't much she could do about it now. No, but that was okay. She was thirsty, and he probably was too.
" Hm ok " Of course it was ok for her to strech her legs he wasn't her mate or anything he was...what was he? now that tought came to his mind again and it confused him for a few seconds now that he wasn't wide awake. " So you want to go somwhere or are you staying here? " Raj was still tired...he rolled around on his back and streched out a little. He closed his eyes and rested a little. His body was so exposed but he didn't care really it was not that he was afraid of being attacked or anything. And if something was going to happen then Arachne would notice it.
" I am awake just so you know..." His voice was not very convincing since it sounded like he was halfasleep still.
She couldn't help but giggle at him. He was always so comfortable it seemed. "Oh, well I'm a little thirsty." She said with a nod even though he couldn't see it. "Aren't you? I think there's a water hole close by." She hadn't a clue, but she could smell the faint hint of water in the air. Either it was going to rain, or there was water. There wasn't any clouds in the sky, so rain wasn't the case. At least, that's what she figured. "Maybe a bite to eat, as well." She said as she felt her tummy rumble ever so slightly as she stood there. She felt well stretched, and felt like this morning was going to be a good one.
Raj was still tired but if she wanted to get some water then he could go with her. He felt that he had to protect her even if he was the blind one here. But seeing some colors on one of his eyes actually did help a lot. And many that met him didn't know that he was blind until they had actually sat down and studied him. " Hmm i am coming with you..." He mumbeld and rolled over on his stomach again. He could probably go back to sleep but he had to follow his companion to find some water..
She felt a little relieved at that. She didn't like going anywhere without him. She'd grown attached to his big fluffiness. She smiled at the fact that he said he was coming with her. In a way that might sound like he had to protect her. Though, it could be her imagination at that. "I'm sure you could use some water and food, anyways" She told him with a nod. Sometimes he didn't realize when he was hungry and thirsty, she figured. "Thank you." She finally said at that. She waited before he was completely up before taking a few steps then stopping. "I think it's this way." She wanted to make sure he knew what way she was talking about. By speaking in the direction she was standing in, it made it easier for him to follow.
Raj got up and sniffed a little bit in the air with his nose. He could pick up a scent of water as well but it was a little bit more to the left. " I think it's this way " He said and nodded towards the direction he picked up the scent of water. " I might be tired but my nose is still working " He smiled and looked confident. He might have bad eyesight but his other senses was very sharp probably better then with a lion that had perfect sight. " And why do you thank me? " His facial expression looked a little bit confused...he didn't mind coming with her at all. Who knows there might be some other male lion around that wanted to steal her from him. But if that happend then he would prove to her that he was better then a stupid male with sight. The tought of it made him look a little bit grumpy. But usually Raj always tought about things but he never said them out loud.
She never questioned his sense of direction. He seemed better then she was at it. Which was perfectly good with her, she didn't like being lost, and if it wasn't for him... She probably would be. "Oh? That way we go then!" She giggled at herself for no real reason. She wondered if it was because he couldn't see that he had better smell then she. She didn't dare to ask. "I am not sure, I just felt like it was a good time to say it." She gave a shrug in the process of her speaking. It was nice telling someone thank you. He could have went back to sleep, and not come. Then she'd end up lost, she supposed. "Isn't it nice to get a thank you once in a while?" She asked him curiously as she moved next to him. She almost moved too close. She could feel the heat of his body. It made her heart race a little.
" Heh! what could you do without me? " He said to her with a teasing tone in his voice. If she had gotten lost then he probably had to go look for her. He could pick up her scent easily so it wouldn't have been a problem for him. " Well i guess it's nice when someone says thank you but you don't have to tell me that..." He knew she was thankful anyway so that is why he didn't need to hear it from her. It was enough that she stayed by his side all the time. He could remember how lonley and sad he had been when his mother had abandond him...it was probably because of his eyes...but even without good eye sight you could still survive and live a pretty good damn life. But his mother probably didn't know about that.
" Then lets go this way~~"
"I would die without you" She said with a laugh... Then realized how that might sound as something else. She felt her cheeks get really warm. She didn't mean to just say it like that. Though, it was true. She would die without him. He was her support, her reason of living. He just didn't know it yet... And She wasn't sure she knew it quite yet either. She felt her heart race again. Her tail flicked slightly. "Lead the way, oh mighty one' SHe said in a joking voice. Hopefully he didn't catch what she said first. If he did, would he question her about it? She hoped not. She felt embarrassed as it was. "I'll make sure to tell you if there's something in your way. " Though it was pretty open, this area. No real rocks except a few here and there. None that he could trip over anyways.
" Ohh? " He stopped and looked in the direction he tought her head was at. If she was joking with him then he could joke with her right? Well it was something he would do anyway. " I will show you the way but it might not be the right one~~ heh i am joking ok i would never take you somwhere dangerous " Well he might do but then he wouldn't do it by purpose. He continued walking...and he could smell he wanter scent getting closer. And it didn't take them that long to get down to a small little water hole.
She giggled. "I trust you enough to walk with my eyes closed and lead me where you wish." She said in response. It was the truth, and that she wasn't embarrassed to admit. If they happened to cross danger, it wasn't anything they couldn't handle, she was sure. She could defend herself if needed. Though, most wouldn't come near them. Not with Raj here. It kept those away. Well, any mean looking lions and other creatures away it seemed. Come to think of it, she didn't remember running into anyone while with him. It was probably a good thing. "Oh! You did it" She said with a smile as she moved closer to the water. She didn't realize how thirsty she was until she saw the water. Her mouth was completely dry. She lowered her front half down to lap up some water before looking back at Raj. "This is very good, You should drink some" She said with a nod.
He was happy that she trusted him with his life. Then she would probably not leave him...but he didn't trust those other male lions maybe they could capture her heart in no time. But still Arachne was diffrent and maybe even a little shy so it probably had to take a lot of someone wanted to capture her heart and take her away from him. Raj didn't notice it himself at the moment but he was more acting like an angry boyfriend then just a friend. But he couldn't help it a part of him saw Arachne as his...and no one else. He sat down while Arachne went down to drink water. He waited until she was finished until he also went down there to take a drink. He wasn't as thirsty as she was but some cold water tasted very nice.
" So are you all happy now? " He looked at her with his pink eyes...her white figure was actually easy for him to see with his right eye. Lucky for him the sun hadn't gone up yet so it was easier for him to see her white body in the dark night.
She smiled as he was finished too. She nodded, sometimes forgetting he couldn't fully see her. Then, realizing she hadn't said anything "Yes, quite happy." She said with a smile. No one could make her happier, she believed. He was always there. He was her best friend, her only real friend. Maybe even something more. He always knew what to say, and how to say it. And where to go when she needed something. While she knew how to catch things when he was hungry, and be his eyes when he needed them. They were a perfect team. "We make a good team." She said with a nod. She wasn't as shy around him as she was around others. Though, she'd known him for so long, she forgot she was shy when around him.
" Sooo... " He started his sentence then stopped...he wasn't sure what to say all of a sudden. " Did you meet any other lion around here latley? " He hoped she wouldn't start talking about some guy she had met but he tried to keep himself calm and look normal...well as normal as he could. He just felt like he had to ask her something and it had been on his mind latley actually. If she asked him why then he could always blame it on that he was tired or something.
He nodded as an answer to her words about they made a good team but a team could mean diffrent things. But he still didn't understand why he had these feelings latley but it did confuse him alot and he didn't know what to do with all these feelings inside of him.
She thought about it for a moment. "Only a lioness." She talked really loud, Arachne remembered. Didn't seem to worry about her markings or her colors that she had. Which was a relief. No matter how other's saw her, she was always worried they'd not like her cause her colors. And the spider marking on her side. She was once told that it was a poisonous spider, so she believed that other's might see her as poisonous. "Have you met anyone interesting? " She asked him. Trying to keep the conversation going. It seemed like a good conversation. Talking about those you've met while not with each other. She wondered if he had any interesting stories. Her's where that interesting, so she didn't bother with the details with it.
When she said that she had only met a lioness he was a little relived..." Oh nice! Well i met two female lions actually " The words only slipped out of his mouth maybe it wasn't such a good idea saying it like that. It's not that those meetings had been very intresting or anything but he just hoped that Arachne wouldn't get sad or anything. But why should she get sad? it was not like she was his mate or anything. He opend his mouth to say something again but he didn't know what to say so he closed it again. Raj got a rather confused look on his face and now was definetly a time when he was thinking to much and not saying anything of those things he tought about.
She wasn't sure what to think about that. She smiled. "Well hopefully they were interesting." She said with a nod. "I know everyone comes with their own story, and some of them can be quite good." Whatever jealousy could be in her, she didn't show it. It wasn't like it mattered. He was with her right now, not them. She kinda figured he'd leave her if he had found a mate to be with. Or something along the lines. She didn't think about it though. "Is something wrong?" She asked him looking at his face. Had she said something that displeased him? Or perhaps they forgot to do something?
" Umm well they where just regular female lions..." That had to sound even more stupid. Now he was making a fool out of himself infront of Arachne. Ok maybe she had seen many sides of him but he still didn't want her to see him so silly and stupid. " Nothing is wrong i guess i am just tired..." He regreted that he even brought up the conversation but something inside him wanted to tell her how special she was to him but he didn't know how to do it. Sure Arachne was a simple girl but she still liked girley things or well he barley knew what those sort of things where but...he couldn't think anymore all this s**t had made him ******** up latley. Yeah that was a good word for ******** up. He layed down and turned his head away from Arachne. " It's ok nothing is wrong " He mutterd..
She was curious now. Something was going on in his head, but he wasn't sharing with her. It wasn't like him. She just looked at him for a moment. Trying to figure him out, though, it was a lot harder then she thought it would be. Even after the long while they'd known each other. Though, if he didn't want to talk about it, she wasn't going to push it on him to tell her. She smiled at last. "Okay, maybe we should do something to get you more awake." She said with a nod. "Like run, or something to get your body moving?" She knew that helped her become awake. And it made her feel better. Maybe that's what he needed, a good run.
Something inside of him wanted to say " I can do you baby~~ " but no he could never say that to her or could he? she would probably not even take him seriously and laugh at him but was he so childish and unmanly? he was a mature adult male lion afterall. " Running? i don't know if that sounds like a good idea i rather stay still for a little while if that is ok with you? " He tried to look troubled over something else then his silly toughts like that he was tired. " You can go for a run if you like...i rather stay here " He tried to give her a smile but it was weak something was really bothering him even someone that didn't know him would notice.
She tilted her head and sat down. She wasn't going to go anywhere, unless he wanted her to. He didn't seem like he wanted to be alone, he just seemed like he had too much on his mind. "Well, we could always do something else. " She suggested. "Perhaps some sitting down game." Of course, she was completely innocent, and didn't even come close to thinking what he was thinking. "Unless you want to be alone, then I could go for a walk and find us some breakfast." She said with a nod. A smile upon her face, yet she felt she didn't do it justice. It looked fake, she was glad he couldn't see it. Even if sometimes that didn't matter. He could always tell when she was upset by just the way she spoke. Though, she was only worried about him right now. Maybe he was sick.
Raj rolled over on his back again so she couldn't watch his facial expressions. He was just being so silly and stupid at the moment but he was kind of sure what was going on here but he just didn't want to admit it for himself even if he knew the truth inside of him. " Mrrr well you could still go for a walk if you want...i think i will just stay here " A part of him wanted to tell her exactly what he was thinking and feeling but he was scared of what kind of answer she would give him. Even if some male took something with force if they found something they like he couldn't do that...Arachne was his friend.
"I'll get us some food." She said with a nod. "Maybe that'll make you feel better" She added. She'd take care of him if he was sick. She had no problem with that. She didn't want him to get sick though, so maybe if she could get him food and make him sleep more, then he'd be good before he got worse. She didn't even take into consideration that it wasn't a sickness she could cure, or the fact that it was about her. She didn't think of those things most the time. Even though she wished he'd felt the same way she did for him. Even though, he did, and she didn't know it. She stood up and went on her way to find them some food.
