Ba'al had been proud, despite the interruption to his promotion into the pack and to Beta. He was especially excited about Rumor...who he'd been eyeing since he tried to become part of the pack, since he had been given the task of finding the runaway slave.
He'd left the corpse to Chernadog and his mate to do as they wanted, leaving it as tribute to them and their power. Now, as he made his way to Rumor's den--his new den, technically--he slowed his steps and bit the inside of his cheek carefully. So he was nervous. he didn't have nerves of steal like some other wolves here, hopefully that wouldn't be his downfall.
Taking in a slow breath when he finally got to the den site, he smiled and tipped his head down to look into the den, "Rumor," he called, trying to remember the pup's names as well, "Rumor, are you back yet?" s**t he sounded so pathetic. Sigh.
