Personatly i think toph is she has the ability to bend earth and i think thats cool on th eother hand the water can come of use but this time i choose toph !

all I wanted toph, she could bend metal around katara, Only if they were around metal. Katara could blood bend Toph in a knot!
Both are masters of their element, and both have mastered other forms of their own element. Toph invented metal bending, but like Iroh said, any earth bender can do it if they wanted to. Only a select few water benders can heal, and most are not powerful enough to blood bend at all hours of the day like Katara. Toph's blindness actually HELPS her earth bend, because all of her other senses are enhanced to compensate, thus, her sonic sense. If Katara were to trap Toph in a water orb, she wouldn't be able to do anything because she couldn't "see" or even hear anything around her.
I dunno, I just think people are a little quick to assume that Toph is a better bender than Katara. mrgreen

Katara and Toph are both extremely amazing benders. Katara is quicker and tends to learn things faster, but Toph is very powerful and has a huge advantage on the field because she is able to sense her surroundings. Plus, Katara can bloodbend while Toph metalbends. They both seem evenly matched to me.
