NEW RULES:- Good day fellow LP'er's, the Mods and I were talking about this forum, and we have thought up some ideas. Bare in mind, we still are thinking through with them and if you have ANY disagreement with them, please PM me and converse with me on them as you are just as important as we are.

Right now, I'm just going to leave things as they are as it is the biggest thing we have going on right now as it would be rather prickly of me to tell you guys to change everything in the blink of an eye, so finish up your LP's (take your time of course, all are fabulous and I hope you do more!) and do read the changes for future LP's.

Future LP Subforum rules

Comments will only be taken via PM from now on.
Still want to show your comments and publicly reply to them for others to see? Feel free to set up an extra post in your LP for this. Reasons for this change will be explained later on in this post.

The poster will then have to reserve posts before they get started.

Why such changes you ask? The mods and I are in agreement that this needs to be a more Dragon Quest/Warrior-centric guild in the future. However, we have nothing against LP's, we just would like the featured posts to be comprised of mainly DQ/W topics, that's all.

How to inform the readers of new updates: "Let's Play _______! Ch. 6" next update edit the title to Ch.7 and so on..

We will lock your LP upon completion, this is to prevent people from commenting when they shouldn't be commenting on the thread anyway. If you want to edit/add a comment/response, PM me and I will unlock the topic for you to edit/make a response.

Obey the ToS of course.

DO NOT FLAME ANYONE'S LP EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT! believe me, it hurts when someone says your product of several months is bad. crying

Disobeying the rules will result in a warning and further disobeying will result in a banning the person who broke the rules from the guild.

However: For the reserve posts rule, we will not warn you or ban you if you happen to run out and need to make more posts. You and I didn't know you may have needed more posts when you first started.

AGAIN, if you disagree with these new changes in any way, you're more than welcome to talk to me about it, we want to make things fair for all of us!

Um, I kinda don't get it... (But maybe I just stayed up too late last night trying to complete a quest in FF VI, gosh, I really need to re-learn what sleep means. D: ), we're supposed to KNOW how many chapters we reserve posts for? -blink-

I feel Roto answered your question perfectly, however, allow me to expand/give the Captain's affirmative, and it's okay, I'm officially a nocturnal animal myself. Possibly getting hired for a job that calls me to be there at 4:30 AM is only cute in theory. -_-

You do not need to know how many posts to reserve for, just a rough guess, my theory is most LP's are around 30 chapters, but there's no way that anyone's going to do 30 non-stop reserve posts all in one day (I probably could, but I'm not too sure about others) so perhaps reserve ten or more? The main reason is as Roto said, it's so they don't get in the way of actual DQ/W topics in the featured posts section. And feel free to do LP's of any game you feel like doing, even Final Fantasy xD (in which I bear no malice at all towards the series, I almost grew up with it after all). If you have any more questions, I'd be honoured to answer them for you.

Okay, great, I was just concerned because I thought you may have problems or may have been offended because the new rules seem kind of suppressing to LP'er's. But don't worry, I'm almost certain that LP's in this guild will be one of the biggest things, and I will try my hardest to balance everything out for all of us and make LPs remain big in this guild as it's what makes this guild different from every other guild and I wouldn't change it for the world!

I remember you telling me that you're going to China sometime in the near future. Little did I know that it was in nine days, have fun! I've never been to China, but from my trip to Indonesia many, many moons ago (which was limited to me being able to talk to a grand total of four people who had the most magnificent fragmented Engrish known to man) to visit long lost relatives, I know that a typical Asian city can get pretty hectic at times so it's best not to wander about without a plan. D:

Anyway, onto guild business: the prime goal for comments was so the LP wouldn't get bumped to the featured posts by conversations taking place every minute, however, I sort of see that some people actually prefer that these conversations take place just so the server rape isn't that bad because updates are spread apart, I will consider revising this rule in the future to accommodate "anti-server rape methods".

You're free to make your LPs as long or short as you want, in fact, an LP like a Zelda game is usually quite long anyway so feel free to make a 50+ chapter LP if you really want. Reserving posts just saves the "bumping" so more "relevant to DQ/W Guild" topics can stay on the featured posts because as Roto mentioned, a lot of members join for DQ/W conversations so seeing lots of DQ/W topics in the featured posts will appeal to them.

For comments, I am currently thinking out ideas for that of how we can still incorporate comments, but not bump LP's to the featured posts. I know Link really enjoys answering questions and I love the creativeness you put into that concept. Right now, the best idea so far that "works" for everyone is to make an extra post (maybe just after the first post?) to copy/paste the comments into and make a reply to them for everyone to see.

But other than that, I'm so happy everyone is good with the rules. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, I'm sure as we get more regular posters who post lots of DQ/W topics, I'll change the rules to be in the LP part of the guild's favour. I'm sort of seeing this as being sort of a teeter totter sort of thing: as one side of the guild goes up, I have to bring it down to match the other side. >_< I'm sure we'll find a way to balance things out sooner or later. D:

Roy, the new rules weren't going to go into effect until everyone is finished their LP's, but I think you're making a great example on how to do these new LP's. So everyone who didn't see Roy's update, do go see it as it's perfectly done in the way new LP's will be.
