Who : Jezabroux, Lucia, Luka, and Ty
Where : Durem Insectarium, the Butterfly Garden
When : Early to mid afternoon
Weather : Just the day for a picnic

No words. Luka could not find the right words from his limited vocabulary to describe how he was feeling right now. Pretty did not seem to do justice to the sight in front of him. The countless number of butterflies that were flying around in the glass dome in a myriad of colors. Blue, orange, black, and yellow were a few of the colors he could name. But, there were so many more he couldn't name. Tugging at his guardian's sleeve, the Frei pointed at the butterfly with transparent wings that floated only inches away from his face. "Color? What color Elai?" Luka asked, his finger moving to point to one at another with stripes like a tiger's.

Jezabroux chuckled. It made him glad to know his charge was enjoying this trip to Durem's Insectarium. He had read up in the newspaper about the reopening of the butterfly garden with a free admissions event between 2-4pm for visitors of all ages. Thus, an empty schedule had suddenly been filled. Ruffling Luka's hair, the acupuncturist followed the Raevan's finger to the transparent winged butterfly. "It's clear. No color." He led the Frei to the small plaques that dotted the walkway. "Here, it says: Glasswing Butterfly." The man pointed to the matching image. "And, the tiger-striped one from earlier is..." Scanning the information board, he pointed at another picture. "A Eastern Tiger Swallowtail."

"Watch this," The man held out his hand a foot away from his body. Standing still, he waited patiently. In a matter of minutes, a swarm of butterflies began to land on his outstretched arm; countless species, countless colors. Making sure Luka was watching carefully, he counted to ten under his breath before dropping his arm a fraction of an inch. He looked at his charge with a smile when the insects took off into the air. At that very instant, the sun came out from behind a pair of clouds. Its beams passed through the wings of the butterflies showering the two in a bath of colored lights.

"Come on, it's only free for a little while!" Pale fingers were gripping a tan arm as she pulled a blonde male into the dome. Lucia was excited. She had never been in a butterfly garden, but the pretty colors and shapes of butterflies always drew her attention. She had once seen an all black butterfly. The silky wings fluttering along Yuu's garden. And it was beautiful. "Don't be a baby."

Ty laughed lightly. "I'm not a babe. I just don't want to be the only bloke around a group of 'flies." When Lucia wrinkled her nose up at him, he just smiled and let himself be pulled. "Alright, alright. You're too cute to make that face." Really, if any hot ladies saw him entering the butterfly garden and thought he was a poof, he'd be pissed. But for Lucia he would stomach it.

Floating in, her hand holding Ty's arm, Lucia looked around at the swarms of butterflies. Some of the colors were absolutely amazing. She blinked, her eyes following them down to a guy's waiting arm. As he lowered his arm they took off again. Smiling she went towards him.

She stopped suddenly, when she saw his companion was a raevan! A frei! Floating over, Lucia smiled, ignoring the guardian for the moment. "Hi! I haven't see you at any of the events before." She smiled at the stranger, and her eyes glanced to his guardian. Floating backwards, she addressed both guardian and raevan, "I'm Lucia. . . . And this is Ty," she finished her sentence as the male caught up to her.

"G'day," he said jovially.

Luka was reaching for a butterfly on Jezabroux's shoulder when something even more exciting caught his eye. Floating towards them was another just like him. Or at least, she seemed to be like him. Wings and no legs, that made her one of his kind right? However, she had a longer chest and seemed to be softer in form in comparison to him and Jezabroux. Less sharp, more curvy; like Aletta from Jezabroux's clinic. His wings flared out in apprehension as she introduced herself; easing up considerably when he didn't sense any hostility. "Loo-sha and Tie." He repeated, letting the foreign sounds roll across his tongue. He looked up at Jezabroux expectantly and floundered for a second when he realized his guardian was waiting for him to introduce the two.

Giving his wings a nervous flap, he couldn't help but stare at Lucia's larger, more impressive and metal studded ones. Amber eyes washed over her form as Luka took the time to commit her appearance to memory. Clearing his throat, he did just as he had seen his guardian do countless times before. "Hullo," he greeted them, giving the kitten and her guardian an smile reminiscent to stray sunbeams. "Name Luka and..." he looked up at his guardian. "And, Elai." Catching a look of approval, the Frei's rune shimmer ever so gently.

Jezabroux chuckled and ruffled the Satyr's hair affectionately. "Pleased to meet you, Miss Lucia and Mr. Ty." He gave a little bow. "Please feel free to call me Jezabroux or Elai. Luka finds the latter easier to pronounce. And, Miss Lucia, the reason you may not have seen Luka before is because he was born just recently. He is... in a sense, Lab's resident newborn." The acupuncturist couldn't help but raise an eyebrow towards the other Raevan's rather.. risque clothing. Of course, it also didn't escape his notice that the Raevans seemed to be born into their clothes. Luka being a prime example.

Luka looked up expectantly when he heard his name being said. Quickly catching on that it was banter he didn't understand, the Frei took to staring at Lucia's pierced wings. "What?" The Frei questioned, pointing to the multitude of metal hoops on the Sigel's wings. He lacked a word for them. The color, shape, their purpose. He didn't know a thing about them. "Touch?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. Two days with his guardian and the Frei had learned very quickly not to touch without asking first when it came to objects on a person. His guardian had been adamant about manners.

The sigel looked from Luka, obviously a young frei, to his guardian and back again. Luka. It was cute. Elai. She smiled at the relationship between the two. Like a puppy or something. It would change and develop, she knew, but it wasn't bad for a really young frei.

She didn't notice the eyebrow raise nor did she really understand the joke about 'resident newborn.' But she didn't really care. She cared that Luka was staring, and suddenly his pale hand reached out to point. A question lingered on his lips as he gave it air. "Ohhhhh!" she said as sudden realization hit her. Her piercings! She didn't know how many raevans modified their bodies, but she certainly enjoyed the piercings she had gotten.

She wanted more now that her body had expanded - a top and bottom belly button, maybe surface piercings on her hips, and a tattoo or twelve. Extending her wing gently out to it's new full span, her hand took his and she led his fingers to her piercings. "It's jewelry. Piercings. Don't pull on them because that'll hurt. But you can touch them if you want." The Kitten smiled at the naive Satyr.

"You should definitely get some of your own if you want!" She didn't stop to consider how Elai would count in the scheme of it. Guardians couldn't tell her what to do with her body. Well, Yuurei wasn't around when she had gotten those piercings. At about Luka's age.

Meanwhile, Ty had been introducing himself to Jezo. "Nice ta meet ya." The Oz held out his hand to shake the man's. He didn't really like the questioning look he gave the Kitten, but if Lucia didn't notice or didn't care, sometimes it was easier to let things be.

"So how'd you get the little fella? Lu's in my sister's care."

Jezabroux smiled and shook Ty's hand. "Pleased to be of your acquaintance Mr. Ty." His eyes shuttled towards Luka when he heard the question. "I'm not sure really. I believe it was pure chance. I received a survey from LAB 305 and having mailed it back off completed, was met with a letter detailing my selection for guardianship. A surprise really. But, I don't mind." A look of affection on the acupuncturist's face. "He is delightful company."

Luka flashed her a curious look before flicking the metal rings with a tentative finger. "What is jewelry? What is hurt?" The questions were flying off the satyr's tongue, the limited number of words in his disposal mashing together into phrases. There was still so much he didn't understand, so much he still had to experience. The Frei cocked his head to the side and gingerly traced the metal hoops on Lucia's wings. "Is good? Jewelry? Hurt?" He hadn't even heard the kitten's comment about getting his own piercings; his attention now fixated on Lucia's stomach.

"Is jewelry?" The Frei asked, running a finger down the contours of Lucia's hip. The motion was quickly put to a stop by the firm grasp of Elai's hand around the Satyr's wrist. The Frei looked up at his guardian in alarm, not understanding the implications of touching someone of the opposite gender in such a way. The downy feathers at the base of his wings were fluffing up in discomfort, wings pulling close towards his body.

Elai quickly released the grip on Luka's wrist. "Hands, Luka." The tone was firm. He turned to Lucia and gave her an apologetic smile. "He is still young. You are the first woman Luka has encountered. I haven't been able to teach him what is acceptable and what is not when addressing others of the opposite gender. My apologies, Miss Lucia."

Hearing those words, the Frei looked up at Lucia. He knew what apology meant. He had done something wrong. "Loo-sha, Luka sorry touch. No ask before. Forget bad thing? He asked nervously, his hands wringing at his wrists.

"Oh just Ty. No 'mister' please. I'd feel like you were chatting with someone else." Jez's response to his question surprise him though. Really? It was so odd that someone would just be given one without a request for it. I mean, it was like raising a kid sort of. You weren't just handed one. In order to adopt, you needed to want one. Brushing his light blonde hair out of his eyes, Ty hoped he wouldn't be randomly selected. He liked Gaia, for now, but he would have to go home. And he did not want to worry about a smelly drooling little raevan.

"'S good that you got picked then."

Lucia smiled. She didn't think she had been this clueless as a frei, but who knew. Thinking of the frei she knew when just born, her mind immediately went to Delia, who didn't talk for months. Maybe she skipped her limited vocabulary in order to develop it more.

Lucia was about to reply to the frei when he slid his hand down her torso and to her hip. Chills ran up the sigel's longer spine. No one other than herself had touched that skin before. Especially where his fingers had been before they were removed: on the well defined line between muscle that followed her hip downwards, stopping only at her ribbon. It was different, being touched there, but not entirely unpleasant. She shrugged at Elai. It wasn't so big a deal as to scare or scold him. "It's fine."

Smiling at the frei, she just laughed lightly. "It's all forgotten! But these things are jewelry." Reverting back to the original subject, she gestured to her piercings and the thin necklace with a butterfly on the end that she had adorned. "Mostly it's metal stuff you wear for decoration. And hurt. That's pain. It's a not nice feeling. You can pinch your arm - ya know, squeeze your skin between your fingers - but I don't recommend it because it hurts. It doesn't feel good."

Looking around at the butterflies, she smiled, seeing the multitudes of them floating in the air above them. "Do you like flying? We should fly with the butterflies." Spreading her piercing-adorned wings, the Kitten beat her larger wings a few times to propel herself into the air. Turning her body so her face was almost parallel to the ground, she smiled at him, floating still in the air. "Want to fly?"

Jezabroux gave a small smile. "Of course, my apologies, Ty." He had a vague inkling of what the other man was thinking. How could one attain guardianship so easily? "And, I assure you I did everything possible to ensure my candidacy as Luka's future guardian. I have strong credentials and I also attended Lab's summer party at Gambino Beach to familiarize myself with the community and to learn more about these... Raevans. They're quite breathtaking." The acupuncturist added, his heterochromic eyes turning to observe Lucia and Luka.

The Satyr frei followed after her words in an avid bobbing of his head. He didn't quite know everything that she was saying but the motions she gave helped. Pain was accidentally shutting the door on your ribbon or running into a glass door. Something unpleasant. Golden orbs fell back to the metal butterfly adorning Lucia's neck. It was like the things that fluttered around in here. Luka pointed to the necklace. "Flutterby not real but still pretty like Loo-sha." A boyish smile curving at his lips. While still young, the Frei had learned to dish out compliments quite well after following and observing Jezabroux.

He followed Lucia's gaze up to the ceiling and stared at the flying mass. They were like living splashes of color, enthralling and captivating. Nodding to Lucia's question, Luka spread out his own smaller wings. The thin membrane between his wings spines shivered from the movement as did his russet colored feathers. Following a few beats, the Light Frei slowly propelled himself off the ground and floated towards Lucia. "Fly higher?" He asked, already pushing himself a few feet closer to the mass of butterflies.

Well -- he was at a summer party too...And he was certainly proving he could take care of one. Well either way -- if he got one he'd send it back -- or whatever. It was hard enough to worry about spawning himself -- condoms were a necessity (there would be no little baby Tys for a while) -- but getting a raevan seemed to be out of his control it seemed. Well, Ty thought, Alex could sort it out if that did happen.

Ty brushed his hair out of his face, watching the pair float higher. He was waiting for people working here to come yell at the raevans. He was pretty sure that they wouldn't appreciate them flying with the butterflies. But whatever. They were having fun.

Lucia grinned at the frei. Her eyes glanced at Elai. What was he teaching Luka? And then they were airborne. She had to control just how hard she beat her wings to keep from easily outstripping Luka. As he flew up further, Lucia instead beat her wings and turned on her back, facing the ceiling. She watched as butterflies flew all around them. Some landed on her body, and in her hair. Others flew with Luka, adorning his shoulders. She giggled -- and butterflies quickly left her stuttering stomach -- as a beautiful red and gold one landed on Luka's nose.

Jezabroux's heterochromic eyes watched in a pleased manner as the two Raevans flew up into the air. It was wonderful how well Lucia and Luka were getting along. Crossing his arms across his chest, he couldn't help but admire the view of the two Raevans caught in a maelstrom of wings and color. He could stare all day. Nevertheless, his attention was turned to two men wearing the lime green and khaki particular to employees, running this way shouting, pointing to the two floating figures of Lucia and Luka with much agitation. "Ah.. " It seemed as though the Raevans had finally turned up on the Insectarium's local cameras.

The larger of the two workers at the Butterfly Garden was frowning. Pointing to the silhouetted figures of Luka and Lucia, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a walkie-talkie. "Yea Dean, I got a visual on them. Some sort of floating half body."

Luka's eyes seemed to shimmer, like liquid gold swishing back and forth in a jar. The butterflies were landing on his hair, arms, shoulders and even his ribbon, which was a rather tickling sensation. The Frei paused when a large butterfly of crimson and sun landed on his nose. Raising his hand, he pushed his finger under the insect and raised it up. "Loo-sha," The Frei said as he held out the butterfly in his hand for the Sigel.

Ty wordlessly watched the events unfold. If nothing else, he kinda wanted to see how the men tried to stop Lucia and Luka. His arms crossed across his body as he watched the men talking into their walkie talkies. "Hmmm..." he murmured quietly. He had a small smile on his face Lucia certainly attracted attention.

Lucia grinned as Luka held out the pretty butterfly. Reaching her hand out, she took it from him and placed it gently on her collar bone. Oblivious to the sensation they were causing below, Lucia just watched Luka. He seemed to really like this. "Watch this, Luka," she said quietly, floating directly below Luka, parallel to the ground.

Waiting until his eyes were on her, Lucia clapped her hands once, the small vibration from the clap reverberated throughout her body in a split second. And all at once, dozens of butterflies that had been perched on her spread their wings and flew up surrounding Luka entirely before some floated away and others landed delicately on his body.

Jezabroux was quick to move. Not wanting for the two Raevans to get in any trouble, he walked briskly towards the uniformed men. "Excuse me sirs, is there a problem?" He asked in a professional tone.

The larger worker nodded. "Yea, the floating chests need to get down. Visitors are free to touch the insects if they land, but floating or flying, whatever the hell it is that they're doing, isn't good. It's disrupting the other patron's experience here." As his walkie talkie buzzed again, he excused himself for a second. "Yea, Dean. I'm on it." Turning his attention back to Jezabroux, he looked up at the two floating Raevans and scowled. "Sir, if those things are with you, I'm going to have to ask you kindly to get them back down or else we'll be forced to throw you out for disruptive and dangerous behavior."

Jezabroux frowned at the man's reference to Luka and Lucia as 'things' but held his mouth shut. "Of course, I'll do it right now." Moving away from the security guard, he called out for the two Raevans. It was unfortunate, the two were enjoying themselves so much, and now he had to ruin their fun. "Luka! Miss Lucia! You need to come down, now." He stressed the last word hoping that at least Lucia would understand it wasn't him wanting to spoil their day.

Luka smiled and turned in the air as he let the insects surrounded him. "More Loo-sha!" He said with a laugh as he shook his head to rid the ones in his hair. When he heard his name, he looked down at his guardian and frowned. "No Elai, do like better up." Cupping a butterfly in his hands, he quickly released it to watch it fly off.

Glancing down as she heard her name called, a scowl briefly darkened Lucia’s face before she immediately replaced it with a bright mischievous smile. She did not like the look of the people who were speaking into walkie-talkies and shooting glares their way. Jealousy, she found, was rampant with the legged. It was so much nicer to fly, at least now that she was no longer afraid of heights. Just because they could not fly with the bugs, didn’t mean raevans shouldn’t because they could. But hearing Luka’s reply to his guardian, the cat didn’t want to cause trouble for the kid. The scowl was gone before Luka got it in his head that she was upset.

”Hey,” she said with a smile that said trouble. ”Can you do this?!” Lucia, laying on her back, quickly flung her arms so she did two back flips and then she dove quickly towards the ground. Ty, she noticed, almost started, like she was diving off the roof of a building without a parachute. But Lucia stopped her downward propulsion by fully extending her wings and scooping herself upright to Ty’s height.

She looked up expectantly, a mischievous grin. How did you get a kid to do something they don’t want without making a scene? Make it into a game.

Luka turned when Lucia spoke to him. Watching the Sigel do two flips in midair before coming to a stop beside her companion made the Frei smile. Yes, he could do that, but he could do more than that as well. Spreading out his smaller wings for balance, Luka copied Lucia's two backflips before doing doing a front flip as well and coming to a stop beside Jezabroux. His landing was less cultured than Lucia's, something akin to a missile speeding down and almost crashing. Flying around Elai to break his speed, he finally peeped his head out from behind his guardian and flashed Lucia a cheeky grin.

"Lucia is not only one with pretty turns and things." Spreading out his wings one last time to straighten out the downy feathers at the base, he folded them neatly behind his back and exhale slowly. He still felt exhilarated from the sheer speed of his descent earlier. Suddenly, butterflies were the last thing on his mind.

Jezabroux smile and flashed Lucia two thumbs up of approval. Classical. "Good job." He mouthed, glad to have avoided the potential headache of Luka resisting the Garden's rules. Turning to the guard, he exchanged a few curt words before watching them cross the lawn back into the security office. He turned to the rest of his companions. "Kudos to you Miss Lucia." He looked down at his own charge and ruffled the Satyr's soft hair. "Shall we keep exploring the garden?" He asked.

Lucia grinned as Luka did as she hoped he would. He mimicked her, showing off even more than she had with a front flip. But at least he wanted to impress. Again, she didn't give a s**t about the security, as she watched Jezabroux shoo them away, but inwardly it was good to know that Luka's naivete wouldn't get him in trouble.

The kitten stretched, her wings going out as wide as possible and her spine curved back. Letting out a sigh as she released her stretch, the sigel cocked her head to the side. Could the garden really get better after what they had just done. Her violet eyes moved from Luka to Ty with a questioning look behind them. He didn't really wanna come and she was set with her experience, but maybe Luka wanted her to stay.

A rogue smile brightened the bored Oz's face. "We can see a bit more, but I think we need to go pretty soon, Lu." For how little he had lived with her, Ty knew her though process pretty well -- maybe because it was pretty similar to his own, without the focus on getting laid of course.

Luka only had to hear Ty's words to take action. He looked over at Lucia, shooting her an all to adorable puppy face. "Lucia should come with Luka, see more stuff with flutterbys." For a good added measure, he reached out to take her hand in his while weaving his fingers with her own. He found the kitten rather fun to be with, and now her male was trying to leave with her it seemed. "Ty can leave Lucia with Luka." He paused, catching the look on his own guardian's face. "Unless Lucia must go soon, but then, Lucia HAVE promise to meet again." He said with a pout, slightly miffed that the two were already parting ways.

Letting go of her hand, he shot Ty a quick dirty look before floating back to Jezabroux's side.

Jezabroux couldn't help but give Lucia and Ty a sheepish look, giving the Oz an apologetic look at the glance Luka had shot in his direction only seconds before. "It's unfortunate that you need to leave soon Miss Lucia, Ty." He took a quick look at his already moping charge and smiled faintly. "If you have time, please call me. I'm sure Luka would love to meet up with you again." Reaching into his pant pocket, he pulled out a business card and passed it to Lucia.
