Somewhere in the corner of the trainee dorms, a pokeball shuddered once... twice... and a flash, subdued by the discarded day's clothing that was bunched around it, erupted from the container. The light took the form of a large head, hair billowing from its crest, attached to a skirt-like body. The Misdreavus shook herself slightly and yawned. Her hunger had woken her. It was time to feed.

Revenant had a look around her current location. She could sense the dreams around her, and she delighted at the idea of waking any one of the individuals. However, it was preferable to isolate a single victim to ensure ease of escape. Besides, Revenant's human was in this room as well, and that girl was simply no fun at all. The Misdreavus surveyed the sleeping faces once more before departing, drifting into a wall and materializing in the corridor on the other side.

Eagerly she began to hunt.

A shuffle, a few thuds, and a slight tumble into the door set the scene of a half asleep girl emerging from her room. With a slight yawn and a bat from her dazed, half closed eyes she was off down the hallway in no particular direction. Mumbling about nothing to herself and adjusting her jacket over her pajamas, pressing the button for the elevator.

The ding signaled her to move forward and after a second of delayed reaction she scooted inside and waited there. Just waited. It took her a moment to press the button. In fact, she pressed every button; but she got off st the Trainee dorms. Sighing deeply, she uttered a thank you to the elevator before continuing on her way.

The elevator's arriving chime caught Revenant's attention, and she turned just as someone emerged into the hall. The Misdreavus moved to hide herself, but there was something strange about the girl. She had the scent of dreams about her, though her upright posture indicated a waking state. A sleepwalker, she decided. Their kind were a rarity, and Revenant had heard tales from her fellows in the wild that their fear possessed a truly unique flavor.

She drifted closer to test the human's reaction. Too much awareness would spoil the taste of the dreams, and the only way to gauge the girl's condition was to press it.

The ghost pokemon didn't make a clear register in her mind. To her, all she felt was a vague presence. Her hand flitted in the pokemon's general direction and she continued on her way. Whatever she was dreaming was more important than a little distraction.

And what was she dreaming about? It was anyone's guess. By her mumbling, incoherent, and erratic pattern of speech it seemed that she was in a rush to get somewhere and do something. Her pace quickened as she made a turn down one of the hallways.

Ahh, what delightful disorientation! Truly this was prey Revenant deemed worthy of her glorious self. She found a place behind the girl, drew in a breath, and released a wailing shriek.

In her bed, Aila roused at the sound, albeit distant and muffled. She blinked and rubbed at her eyes. What was that she had heard? It sounded somehow familiar.

A shriek roused her, rather jarring, from her sleep walking state. She cried out as she hit the ground and scurried to the nearest wall, panicking and clutching her sides as if she would fall apart. Her breath caught in her throat while she looked around through blurred vision, obviously confused as to where she was. Cal placed a shaky hand on her forehead and peered at a floating creature before her.

"You!" Her face flushed with anger. It was obvious that she had been sleep walking and that pokemon had undoubtedly caused her to be in this predicament. She stood up slowly and glared at the ghost pokemon, making an attempt to grab it.

Exquisite! Revenant's gems glowed a faint red as they extracted and stored the fear the girl emitted. The consistency was excellent, and she looked forward to savoring it. For now, there was this irritable mess of a human to deal with. The Misdreavus laughed musically and danced aside as her victim tried to seize her. What sorrow that she could not collect anger the same as terror - she would be fed for a month easily through only this single hunt!

Something was going on in the hall, Aila resolved. Something noisy. And as she caught sight of the empty pokeball beside her rack, she realized just what that something was. That disobedient little ghost was up to her tricks. She growled with the irritation that swelled within her and made her way to the exit into the hall, pokeball in hand. She arrived just as the Misdreavus dodged grabbing hands.

"Revenant!"

Oh, was the game to be over so soon? The pokemon turned her head when she heard her name, grinning mischievously, and disappeared through a wall.

"Come back here, you-!" Aila gritted her teeth as irritation billowed into rage. Just how far would that ghost go to embarrass her?

A swing and a miss. Of cousrse she wouldn't be able to grab the ghost pokemon. She balled up her fists and shook it at the pokemon. That little Misdreavious was enjoying this!? That just mad her even angrier. She reached for a pokeball only to pull at her waist line. She realized that in her sleepwalking state, her zombified self hadn't bothered to bring her pokemon.

The little devil disappeared through out of sight as someone, who Cal immediately assumed was her owner, appeared to retrieve it. "Is that-" She put a hand on her forehead to try and calm herself. "Was that your pokemon?" She made her slow approach toward the figure. Getting a closer look, this person looked familiar.

Aila heaved an exasperated sigh. "Unfortunately, yes," she grudgingly admitted. "I sincerely apologize for her behavior. Has she injured you?" As she asked, she studied the young woman as if to find the answer on her own accord. She did not seem to bear any visible wounds, fortunately.

"If you like, you can punish her however you see fit when I retrieve her." And she did not jest. Aila was tired of the ghost's antics, and she felt neither need nor desire to defend her in any way.

"Yea," she inhaled deeply to calm her nerves. "I'm fine. You should keep a leash on her. Figuratively." Could you even put a leash on a ghost pokemon? If so, I'd like to tie that one up. That moment of contemplation brought a grin to her face- a wide, creepy grin.

Cal shook her head. "I wouldn't know were to begin to punish her. I don't think I could come up with something good enough anyway." She stuck out a hand to her new acquaintance, "I'm Cal, a grunt." She beamed, hard feelings temporarily set on the sidelines, "Have we met before?"

"I would that I were able," she groaned. "Literally. Please feel free to exact whatever punishment you wish upon imagining it." She hesitated momentarily as the hand was extended before taking it with her own. "And I am Aila. I do not believe we have." Although admittedly, the girl's voice did seem vaguely familiar. Her appearance and name, however, struck no chords.

Aila recoiled when she became aware of her person. She had taken no efforts to put herself in order before venturing into the hall - her hair was left untied, and she was clad barefoot in her sleeping gown.

"I- Please forgive my appearance. I was not thinking, and..." She preened at her hair in an instinctive attempt to smooth it from the tousled mess the pillow had created.

She gave her a firm handshake, "Aila, nice name." Cal assumed that the girl wasn't her superior, specially with the wild Misdreavius roaming around. Perhaps she was a grunt or trainee. "I can't think of much in this state," She yawn, eyes a bit half closed. "But I'll keep you to your word- if I so happen to think of something."

A small smile touched her lips and a giggle soon followed. "No need to apologize." She gestured to herself, "As you can see, I'm not in any proper attire to be roaming the halls." The old shirt she wore hung off her slender body loosely, with her jacket haphazardly thrown over it, and shorts that had a nice cloud pattern on them. Sleep walking was a huge drawback... She needed to get her pokemon to guard the door so she could escape on her escapades.

No need to apologize? She certainly felt the need to apologize. The whole evening had turned into a veritable catastrophe thanks to the whims of a single pokemon, and since that pokemon was in Aila's care, everything that had transpired was Aila's fault.

She glanced at the empty pokeball in her hand and breathed another sigh. "I suppose I should find her before she causes even more havoc." A sleepy yawn escaped her; although she was a light sleeper, she was prone to quickly falling back asleep. All she truly wanted to do was crawl back into bed, but there was no telling what shame Revenant would bring her if she left the Misdreavus to her devices.

Arceus, what time was it? She looked around her person. "Do you by chance have the time?" It must have been very early in the morning. She most likely wouldn't be going back to sleep, but she could sure waste a lot of time with Aila. "If you want, I'd be more than happy to help you find her." She smiled, running a hand through her messy hair. "Wouldn't want her to scare one of the higher-ups." She let out a wide yawn, "That would get you in a real mess."

Aila instinctively looked for a clock to no avail. She had glanced at her alarm upon waking, though, and had a rough estimate in mind. "Some time around 4, I believe," she offered. Her normal schedule would find her beginning to rouse in about an hour anyway; no use in returning to bed now.

She immediately thought of Seth at the mention of superiors. Truly she had no desire to embarrass herself so completely in front of him. She tucked her arm across her stomach and gave a low bow, "I would deeply appreciate your assistance."
