Fuja had spent most of the morning being hungry. He'd slept last night in the relative safety of a small rock crevice to evade last night's storm; the rainy season had come on with a vengence, and even this morning, it was lightly sprinkling. His stomach had woken him up this morning, complaining plainatively, and had drive him out, very reluctantly, into the wet. The ground squished beneath his forepaws as he walked, his dark gray mane hanging low over his eyes. It just wasn't fair. Anyone with more luck than him would surely have found something already; but it seemed the wild beasts were all staying in out of the rain, and all he'd see so far, from a distance, had been some zebra who'd kicked their heels up and dashed off into the mist at the mere smell of him. The medium-sized rogue ambled onwards with a sigh, ears flat back. Maybe he should find someplace to snooze again - forget his growling stomach for awhile -
The large lion moved slowly over the grounds, a content smile on his face as he thought about the nice little lioness who had been so happy to keep him company a few nights back. She had been unlike anything he had encountered before, so charming so... willing. It had made the whole experience a hell of a lot different. Not bad, just... normally he had to be a hell of a lot more forceful to get what he wanted from a lady. The change had managed to lighten his mood, though perhaps not so much so that anyone around him might have actually noticed. Today, maybe, he wouldn't kill anyone. That seemed like the nicest thing he could do while in the midst of such a light mood. Coming to a stop, the dark lion tilted his head to one side, noticing someone not that far ahead of him. A smaller, brighter lion. The greens were more then enough to return a scowl to Angusho's aging features. "If you're looking for a fight, you've come to the right place," he snarled warningly at the other.
The voice made Fuja's head come up, eyes brightening, and then immediately dimming with some alarm, as he took note of the larger feline just behind him. His ears immediately went back at the other's tone; an automatic response, and probably a bad one, he realized in retrospect. He'd met lions like this before, and he was not particularly willing to get his hide marred up with bite marks. "Hey, relax - " He began, trying to coax the stranger to back down a little. That glare was making him nervous. He tried a casual grin on, white teeth flashing against his gray hide, as he studied the other carefully. If this was going to turn into a fight, he thought, with some dismay, he was going to have to run in the opposite direction. He hated running. Never fight or run if you could talk. "I'm not looking for a fight, pal." Shoulders rolled back into a quick shrug, and he was careful to keep his tone friendly. "Just out walkin'. This wasn't anybody else's land, last time I checked."
Was this lion seriously grinning at him? It felt a little like a challenge, though Angusho was not usually one to charge blindly into battle without waiting for the right opportunity. So he didn't let the look fluster him too much, his shoulders tensing as he met the smile with another low growl. Wasn't looking for a fight? Well that seemed a bit... unusual. Most of the lions he had met were eager to prove themselves against an apparent old man. But there had been a couple others who hadn't been interested in battle. Usually female. "No, it's not anyone's land, but I never said it belonged to me or anyone else. I just don't like the look of you, that's all." He moved himself closer, keeping his claws retracted for the moment as he looked the other over thoughtfully. This animal was not as large as he was, and didn't seem to sport any battle marks. Perhaps he wasn't one for fighting- or he just liked to talk his way out of confrontation because he was a weakling. Whatever the case, Angusho wasn't fool enough to let his guard down just yet. He wouldn't be the first stranger to try and pull a fast one over him. "If you're not here for a fight, then why are you here? This seems a lonely place for a walk."
Nope. Angry-lion's mood hadn't been improved by the encouraging smile. In fact, Fuja suspected he'd just made things worse; he saw the tightening of the muscles, the telltale signs of a lion ready to move. And given the aggressive nature of the other so far, it probably wasn't to run. The smaller rogue's expression faltered, just slightly. Damnit. Today was just not his day. "Uh, well, I'm sorry," He quipped in response to the statement, wondering what the hell he was supposed to say to that. "I was just looking for something - to eat - you know - " He finished, with a rather blank look around the ... well, completely desolate landscape. The arguement sounded rather flimsy even to him, who knew it was true. Maybe he can try to keep this guy talking. Trying to be casual about it, he took a step back. "So - er - why are you out here?"

The male couldn't say he wasn't amused with the way this stranger seemed to be tripping over his words a bit: was he really that intimidating still? Good he wanted to be. It helped him feel a little less like he was getting ridiculously old. At least this animal had sense enough to say he was sorry, rather than act like a hero and stand his ground. Normally fights didn't end up going so well for the animals he engaged with. Heaving a sigh, he sat himself down not too far from the other, still keeping himself tense and aware on the off-chance that this guy turned into some kind of battle master. "I'm looking for someone," he replied simply enough, staring so intently on the other that it almost seemed as though he were trying to look into his soul, "I don't suppose you've seen a gray lion with a black and green mane around here, have you?" Probably not. This lion didn't seem like the kind of guy who could serve any purpose to him. Couldn't even entertain him with a scuffle.
The lack of an immediate reaction made Fuja relax - only marginally, but it was enough to prevent him from fleeing outright. His eyes followed Angusho as the older lion settled back onto his haunches. "Ah - no." That stare was damned unnerving, and the rogue did his best to try to appear unconcerned about it. He remained standing, though he casually lifted a paw to lick it casually, avoiding the other's eyes. "Can't say I have. Friend of yours?" He was tempted to add 'or target?' but that might well have been suicidal, so he held his tongue. "I can send him your way if I see him, though." That's right, Fuja, be incredibly helpful, it might help you get out of here in one piece. "What's your name, and where you headed?"
"Soomething like that," the male replied faintly. Something like that meaning nothing close to that, of course. They weren't friends. They were enemies. Enemies tied by blood. "That would be delightful," he added at the offer, his tone nothing short of completely sarcastic "I would actually rather you didn't mention me being here to anyone, especially if you think you see him. I don't need some neon green fool messing up my plans." He knew if Jeraha caught wind of his father being there, things were going to get even more complicated. "My name is Angusho," he replied, if only because he often introduced himself to animals he could very well end up killing. There was something nice in knowing they were aware of exactly who was ending their life, "but where I'm heading is none of your concern. I suppose it's only fair for you to tell me your name, though I don't feel particularly interested in knowing it."
He wasn't stupid; Angusho's tone and words were eloquent enough. This lion was trouble, and Fuja had best just not mess with him. "I can do that," he replied carefully. "Er - I don't particularly want to mess anything up with your 'plans.'" The 'neon green fool' rankled, but he wasn't stupid enough to react to it. "Fuja," he quipped in return, ears twitching back and forth. "And I - I suppose I can just leave you to ... er, find your 'friend,' Angusho. Best luck." He flicked his tail, taking a few more steps back, and presenting his flank to the other male, starting to head off in the other direction.
Fuja. A name he might remember, if only because those markings would be hard to get out of his mind. Now that he had a name to associate with them, well, he doubted he would be forgetting the name any time soon. Whether or not that was a good thing for this other lion, however, remained to be seen. Another meeting might not end so well. If anything, it was his good mood that kept him from simply chasing the other off right from the start. He had even attempted conversation! Oh yes, he had been in a very bright mood indeed. But Fuja didn't seem stupid- he took his cue and understood when it was time to get the hell out of there before his welcome was worn. Something to consider if they ever met again, maybe. He merely nodded at the other before he turned to leave, watching him progress slowly into the distance before getting back to his own feet and heading the opposite way. What a nice day.
