Well what’s so bad about a little coin toss now and then?
The Tempest King Ahhh why don't you Live a little! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ C'mon! All in! Lucks gotta change someday! A man with red eyes peered out at the path from his hiding spot, before looking back down at the map spread out in front of his feet, "This is it" he muttered before rolling it back up and stowing it in his vest. The prison wagon would come this way, or so the map Joshua had "borrowed" from one of his superiors claimed, it hadn't taken much work to get it, a few drinks last night and he had the poor guy plastered. Joshua had walked him home and then grabbed his real objective, the map detailing the path that the wagon would take to reach the Grand Prison. He'd wipe the fingerprints and return it after the mission. His hand went up to adjust the bandana that concealed his red hair; he wasn't very comfortable with it as it was a piss poor replacement of his hat. But it couldn't be helped, everyone had to be unrecognizable for the plan to work, and so Joshua had chosen an outfit consisting of a bright yellow bandana, a leather vest with no shirt on underneath and a pair of tattered pants. In addition to his outfit he hadn't shaved since he'd been told about the plan and was now sporting some fine red stubble to show for it. Before the ambush was sprung he also planned to add an eye patch to his ensemble. During Leon's trial Joshua had been ready to stand up for the watch member, but Rogvald had sentenced the man without any chance of defense! With nothing to do other then to watch the rest of the proceedings he had stuck around, and had watched two of the higher ranking officers in the guard be punished. Vaida, the bloody commander had be sentenced to die, Needles had been banished and Deborah was probably dead. It short the guards’ chain of command had been screwed up so badly that the entire future of it was left uncertain. Unsure of what to do next he had gone home, the next day an Archer who introduced himself as Wil had shown up on his doorstep. They had this plan you see but needed a way to figure out where the wagon would be and when, so someone had suggested that Joshua as he was a member of the guard might know. What they wanted to do was get a group of people to dress up as bandits, and ambush the wagon in order to rescue the prisoners being transported. They would leave behind only a note giving the location of an old fort outside of Eyris with a challenge addressed to Learania, the note itself was simple, "Come find us." with a little map on the back. Of course the note was false and would only serve to distract Rogvald. Joshua liked this plan, perhaps by freeing these prisoners they would also find someway to rescue Vaida and the guild captain as well, he'd agreed to it Rogvald didn't know his head from his a** in Joshua's opinion. The Tempest king had traveled all over Magvell in order to figure out how the people should be governed, and it was definitely not the way the advisor was doing it. Tibarn who was leading a group that seemed to have the same goals as Wil's was informed of the attack and was asked to spread the word around through the guild secretly, it wasn't long before everyone in the guild knew something was going to happen. It would be up to them to decide weather they wanted to help or not. And so here he hid, at the edge of a path in the eastern mountains. Watching a trail and awaiting the others that Wil said he would bring. Without Wil there would be no plan, so the archer was leading this little foray, the swordmaster had high expectations for him. In the absence of justice... we make our own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell you what, We'll flip on it, Heads, I win Tails, you lose DIE (This is opened for anyone to join)

Wil made his way up a small path. The terrain, rocky and dangerous. But this was the best place to be for his plan. His brown hair was tied back. It laid flat in a ponytail held in place by a small string. His normal blue tunic was no longer what he wore. Now he had a deep red shirt with many tears in it. His pants were covered with mud and grass to give them the look of ware and tear. He marched his way up the path to a small group of resistance fighters.
In short voice not so loud as to alert the guards of a prisoner caravan a ways away. "Listen everyone. The plan is simple. We go down there and we save our friends. Don't kill the guards however. Just knock them all out. These are still men of Learania. We are only pretending to be savages." Wil looked over a rock and saw the Caravan rounding a corner that would lead them right into the grand prison. In one mile they would be in the safety of the iron pen. They however had to go right past them to get there.
"Our friends have been wrongly accused. Wrongly persecuted, and wrongly sentence. All of this under a mock pretense of punishment. Under pseudo-justice. We are here to free them from their chains. Here to free them from their bonds." Wil grabbed a flag that had a bandit symbol on it. "As soon as you I give the signal, run down there and remember, non-lethal force. As soon as the guards are unconscious, we will commence phase two."

Rahkain looked more raggity than usual. This was probably because he was disguised as a bandit like the rest of the group.
It had been a few days since the events in the tavern. He had been staying at an inn ever since, keeping contact with Rajin and Leon. During the last few days, Rahkain had made friends with the crazy archer from the bar, Wil. The archer had managed to convince him to follow him in some kind of crazy plan to "save Eyris".
He didn't really have much desire to put himself in harms way for no profit, but there was one part of this that interested him slightly. If the young man were to tell people he was from Mordache, they would scream that he was evil. If he helped these people rescue prisoners that were wrongfully imprisoned, he would be a hero and this problem might be eliminated. It was a silly reason to join a war effort. However, Rahkain didn't have many friends in this place... The friends that he had made had been hurt by this man called "Rogvald". That was enough to want to bring this man down.
So here he was. Insane Rahkain. Sitting and polishing his sword. Ready for some kind of battle.. for some reason. If there was one thing you would know about this young man, he was prone to spur of the moment decisions. He did unpredictable things for next to no reason. For instance... leaving Mordache.
Wil had come up to the group and reitterated the plan for everybody. Right! Knock people out... No killing. Save the prisoners. "Gotcha."

The sound of heavy, plodding hoofbeats rang through the rugged path leading through the mountains. The clydesdales' breath came in long, strong huffs, their tails flicked away the few flies that dared come near them, and their drivers ignored the barnyard odor to the best of their ability as they turned their eyes to the path ahead. It was a grim passage to the Grand Prison- but one that they had to endure, for the good of the country.
The armored carriages were always exposed to the open air, allowing the people to see the prisoners as they walked by while simultaneously exposing the criminals to the elements as they passed through the mountainous terrain. However, the sheer inhumanity of it made it a moot point for the Learanian soldiers- they might do that to a traitor, a thief, or a murderer, but not to the ones they once looked up to. Before leaving, a quick change was made... and the armored wagons were forgotten.
To give the captives some creature comforts, someone had come up with the brilliant idea of using normal covered wagons to transport the rest of them, reinforcing the outside with leather to prevent any prisoners from tearing their way out with their bare hands. While blades would have cut through the hides easily enough, their weapons had been taken away from them in prison... and hands certainly couldn't tear apart the animal hide. Heaps of rather dusty pelts lined the floor, which at least made sitting comfortable.
Granted, all of these elements that would spare them from the cold or discomfort also made it rather difficult for them to breathe. Between the stench of the horses, the cramped conditions, and the hides that stretched across what should have been air passages... to merely breathe without coughing was a hassle. Blessedly, as there were only four prisoners, suffocatingly strong body odor wouldn't be an issue.
There was one small opening in the top of the makeshift wagon, as the Learanian soldiers in charge of the convoy wanted to at least make sure that their prisoners stayed alive. While it left a bad taste in their mouth to transport their friends and allies towards their final destination, it was simply work that had to be done. To deny the new authorities was unthinkable, lest they end up like the ones they were transporting.
To their credit, the half dozen soldiers in charge of the carriage wouldn't stop the prisoners if they made noise. They couldn't bring themselves to enforce the rules quite so harshly on those they once knew and looked up to.
They were just doing their jobs. And no one could truly fault them for that.

"Well, looks as good a time as any we will get." Wil looked down on the caravan from atop a rock. They were in the perfect position for the ambush. They traveled in a line, straight. Not spread out. So when they struck, they could the single flank with ease. Still he dared not speak above his normal voice. The sound would reverberate off the walls and echo. Wil looked at Joshua and gave a single head nod. "Well, now's the time. No more taking the crap from the old man and his puppet king. Lets show them what were made of."
Wil raised a flag with a local bandit crest. "I can't do much Joshua. I will just keep them herded. You know what to do." Wil grabbed his bow and drew from his quiver, a single arrow. He nocked the arrow on the string. "Fly straight Sagittarius." Wil aimed the arrow carefully. As soon as he let go the string pressure and draw back was released. It shot the arrow quickly into the ground near the head guard. As he saw the horse do the instinctive neigh and small buck he raised his bow. "Now!" Wil lowered his bow and quickly drew another arrow and fired once again. Again careful not to actually hit anyone but for more fear.

Clara Risna
Clara had been waiting for Wil's signal to come. She knew of what they were doing through Joshua. He knew Clara a little bit. She had quit FEF to make sure there was no way she could cause the guild to fall. With the quitting of the guild, Clara got a change in outfit. She didn't want to be recognized right away. Her hair was wasn't even in a pony tail.
She had a good grip on her sword which was on her left hip. Clara didn't want to use her sword if she could help it. She was ordered to knock them out, not kill them. She was sure she might end up doing that. She was able to fight with her fists. The myrmidon was hoping that would be enough.
The signal then came. Clara noticed Wil's arrow fly. She starts running down the hill. She starts out in a run that was ready to fight with fists, but after getting a closer look at what she was going up against. She got a good grip on her sword. The left hand was on the sheath, thumb on the flat part that separates the handle from the blade. Her right hand was on the hilt, ready to get a first strike. Try to lay a hand on the things I care about......I'll take you down before you know it.

"I like the way you think," Joshua answered as he pulled the eyepatch over his head. "Maybe after this we can get a drink or something? Play a few cards, well I guess thats my cue eh?" A blade shined in the sun as Joshua unhooked the large Tempest Blade from his back. He still couldn't figure out how to activate the magical part of it, but it sure as hell looked intimidating.
And since he hadn't recognized the blade as a magic one on sight the guards probably wouldn't notice either, especially since the only look they'd get at it was when the flat side was heading towards their face.
With a bellowed war cry Joshua slid down the side of the hill, sword held down by his hip the point was behind him. Three more steps and he was at the guard in the rear who was still confused as to what the hell was happening, still shouting intangible words the swordmaster brought the hilt of the sword up into the guards chin with both hands. To his credit the guard wasn’t knocked out by this, he was stunned though and stumbled backwards. In a moment Joshua slammed into him, forcing both the swordmaster and the guard to the ground with Joshua on top. The heavy hilt was brought up again before slamming down into the front of the guard’s jaw, which of course knocked him out.
One down, five to go.

Abel hid in the brush on the side of the road while he waited for the escort to come. He knew what they had to do. He knew there would be consequences for what they were going to do, as well. But Abel wouldn't let companions be taken to prison. He had relinquished affiliation with the guild and was going to fight with the resistance. In preparation for the ambush, Abel put put on some worn clothing. He also smeared mug on his face and put on a mask. He wouldn't be recognized.
When the signal came, he leaped out in front of the group of soldiers, sword in hand. It was one of his older swords, much smaller and incredibly dull. It was more of a bludgeon tool than a sword. He let out a shout in a distorted voice and joined the others in fighting the guards.
As one of the horses came down from its rear, an effect of being spooked, Abel grabbed the rider and pulled him from the saddle. He jumped back and looked at the carriage to see if it was clear to get to. "Hurry and get the carriage open!" he shouted, careful to disguise his voice. "Get them out!"

"Aye lads, lets take that carriage and see what is salvageable after the fight." Wil drew another arrow and shot it at a fleeing guard to get him to turn around. "Stop those horse pulling the carriage." Wil could see that many people were busy so he decided to take it upon himself. He drew three arrows and put two in his teeth and slid the first one on the bowstring. His target was the robe and latches that kept the horses pulling the carriage.
He released the tension. The arrow sailed straight air. The first target was the latch for the first horse. The struck it and the horse bucked and neighed with much displeasure from the fight. "One horse down, one to go and a rope." He got into the ready position after he nocked another arrow.
This one was slightly more difficult because the first horse was scared and so caused the second horse to panic. "Calm down you stupid animals!" Wil took aim once again. And then once again. "I don't have time for you to get your nerves calm." Wil let the second arrow free and hoped he would hit his mark with what he had in his sights. The arrow traveled fast and true. It struck the latch that held the second horse. Now both horses could run in any direction except for straight. However there was one last problem. The two ropes that held them to the carriage.
"Last one." He aimed carefully and found his small target. The two ropes were being lashed about by the rampage of the horses. "Calm down you beasts!" Wil waited this time for a good shot. Once he saw it he let go of his hold. This time however the arrow seemed to only travel a foot per minute. Slowly he saw the arrow cut through one rope. Then two, as it sailed off into the ground under the carriage. "Bullseye." The now free horses caused a slight amount of panic among the soldiers. "Watch yer tail's lads, the horse's will be a lil scared of ye." The horses however, disagreed. They were instead, scared of everyone.

Clara Risna
"Can do!" Clara yelled. She had heard the man's orders to free the prisoners. She pulled out her sword as she charged, jumped up, jumped off a guard, and landed on top of the carriage. She poked a hole in the top and pulled it forward.
"Hey guys!" She yelled down the hole. "Get away from the side. I'm going to c-WOAH!" She had to move out of the way because something was flying towards her. "I'm going to cut open a hole for you guys to get out. Clara put her sword into the hole she made. She then jumped off dragging the sword behind her.
"Alright now," She sighed. Then she let go of her sword, turned around, and punched a guard in the face. "You're safe with us." She grabbed her sword and put it back in the sheath. Try to lay a hand on the things I care about......I'll take you down before you know it.

"Oy, you better not run off ya hear? We may be rescuing you but you still owe us ya bunch of free loaders." He couldn't let the guards think that they were actually rescuing them. Wil jumped down from the rock and quickly ran to higher ground. Better view, and the arrows now have a wider arc and can go farther if he needed them to. He continued his usual routine of firing arrows at the guards. He made sure only to give them scratches and small cuts.
All in all he was a good shot for just an archer. He saw one guard approaching Joshua from behind. "Eh, Red behind you. Pay attention." Wil let one arrow fly across the opening in his armor, right under the shoulder. "I want keep you safe for ever you know."
((So pretty much if we were to talk damage wise he's pretty much either missing on purpose or doing 1))

John had switched from his usual green tunic and white trousers and green leather boots. He had donned a red cloth bandanna that covered his face down to his nose and had open slits in them allowing him to see. He put on a brown leather tunic-vest that cut off at the arms and stitched up at the front. He wore brown trousers and brown boots to match.
He pulled this off a bandit he ran into on the way here that was trying to rob him. He had his bow unstrung and in his quiver. He ran down the mountain path silently as if chasing a deer or rabbit. He sneaked up behind a guard that was busy dodging arrows and kicked him on the right side of his knee. The knight instantly buckling underneath all the weight of his armor dropped to his knee faster than a fly beats his wings.
Quickly John had whipped out his bow still unstrung and whacked the un-helmeted knight across the face. Crrrrrraaaack was all you could hear as the bow whipped across his face and sent him back unconscious and bleeding from the nose. "Well, that was effective." John had thought to himself.

Blah Ziaram was with the others in the group, following them with the choice of leaving the guild, and was now here to do his part of rescuing the prisoners. All right time for some fun.
Sticking near Joshua, Ziaram followed quickly without a war cry. That part seemed a bit stupid to him. One part that did catch his eye was the blade Joshua had. A part of it rang towards the myrmidon, as he used a magic sword...his Light Brand. Maybe he would have something to do here after all.
Anyways, he followed Joshua and used his Light Brand to watch his back. Only one slipped by him, and that one was taken care of by Wil. Good thing archers were on their side as well.

((As me, and many of the crew have noticed it seems that the prisoners think they are excluded from participation. So either there has been a misunderstanding. OR you guys a bloody stone faced and don't freak in the face of unknown danger. I'm sorry, I'm gonna go with the misunderstanding thing. You prisoners post something.))
