Fenja (Mogami): Blue Rajanya (Kaori_luv): Indigo
Kaori_luv Raja lay in the grass, a purple and blue lump against a sea of green. He was very hard to miss as he dosed in the early morning sun. He had been wandering for sometime and still he was no closer to what had drawn him from his home. Truth be told he was running, but what from he did not know. How could he? He did not realize he was running.
Mogami Fenja had moved close enough to figure out the species of the one resting on the ground. It would be indeed very difficult to miss such a colorful shape in the grass and the pale female was immediately drawn to the lion. Light colored and glimmering in the sun, someone who probably had an even harder job at hunting that Fenja did. The idea forced a chuckle out of her but she tried to contain it as best as she could.
She didn’t want wake him. Or, more accurately, she did but found it incredibly rude on her part so she sat as quietly as she could and waited. Maybe her scent would reach him and do the job for her.
Kaori_luv Raja slept on for a few more moments, but he was the commanding warrior of his pride and once the female sat, he shifted opening an eye to glance at her. He looked her over for a few moments and decided she was not a threat to him and closed his eye once more before giving a large yawn. He opened his eyes and looked at the female. "Good morning Princess", he said as he woke and rose from his slumbering position. "I hope that I have not disturbed you with my presence."
Mogami Oops, he was awake now and Fenja had enough decency to feel mildly ashamed. She stood when the male rose and waited for his reaction before taking a few steps to sit a little closer. Well, wasn’t he… cheeky? She had to admit being called princess brought memories of her father that she’d rather keep repressed and his colors were already doing a good enough job at reminding her of her former pride. But he was grown male, a rather charming one she had to admit and he had just called her Princess. She liked it.
“Not at all. I believe that’s my line, I didn’t mean to wake you…” and it took a lot f concentration not to add Prince to the end of her statement. “Good morning. I apologize for staring but it’s not every day that I see someone who is brighter than me.” Kaori_luv Raja laughed lightly at the statement. "It is perfectly fine that you woke me. Really I should not have been sleeping out in the open, for as you have said I am rather bright. A gift, I inherited from my parents. My mom was bright green and yellow with pretty white wing marking, while my dad was purple, blue and rather sparkly. My sister and I were doomed to be bright." He smiled happily before bowing his head lighting, "I am Rajanya. Once a prince of my own pride, now the commanding warrior of the Iknimaya. Who might you be princess?"
Mogami Fenja actually enjoyed imagining what his parents must’ve looked like as she tried to get clear pictures in her mind. So Raja took after his father mostly but had the wind marking of his mother. Fascinating.
“Well, I find it a most beautiful doom, prince.” She almost purred and then froze and she realized her actions were just a little too close to flirting. The thought sobered her up rather quickly. “Ah, I suppose I was the same. Doomed to be bright. Then again, so was everyone in my pride. They were all light-colored and bright, some with soft colors… Though not many were quite as colorful as you, I admit.”
She was rather eager to push the conversation away from her former pride. “I’m Fenja. No need for the “princess” though, I don’t believe I’ve ever held a rank in my life. I’ve never heard of that pride, would you tell me a little about it?” He seemed to aim for high ranks though, didn’t he?
Kaori_luv "Yes," he laughed, " it is a beautiful doom. Though I must say I can attract a lot of unwanted attention." The comment was light, and not directed, but it spoke of his previous flings. He hoped he would be more sensible in the future, though he could hardly deny a princess what she wanted. Life beyond he old pride was so different from what he'd been taught. Raja shook his head, "I'm sorry. I hope I have not offended you. When I was young my pride taught me that all females are princesses. I believe to this day and it is a belief I will not give up, but if you do not care for the title than may I ask you name?" He paused for moment waiting, before he thought on his pride. "My pride... is ... rather hard to explain, but is beautiful and most wonderous."
Mogami “I believe you. I find hunting most difficult at times for a lone rogue like me.” The pale lioness said softly, completely misunderstanding Raja’s words.
”No offense whatsoever. My father used to say the same thing.” And at that she visibly flinched before she managed to lighten up her tone and words. “And I guess I find it a little painful. But dear prince, I’ve given you my name. Though it’s an unusual one, I understand how I slipped it past you. Fenja is my name and you can call me just that as it is far too short for a nickname.”
Would it be rude to ask more about his pride? His words only served to increase her natural curiosity but there were prides who treasured secrecy. She didn’t want to seem pushy.
Kaori_luv Raja laughed happy that she missed the meaning of his words, but nodded as well. "I find I cannot hunt in the day time at all, night is the best time for the open plains, but not in my home with the Navi lions." He blushed lightly as she gave him her name once more and felt rather chastised for his ways, but only reminded him how very different the world was. "I apologize Fenja, you have a lovely name. Far easier to pronounce than even some of my own cubs names." Raja lay down to make himself more comfortable as he thought on the home he come to love and miss. "Where to start", he mumbled before looking to Fenja. "What would you like to know exactly?"
Mogami Iknimaya pride. Navi lions. Fenja promptly stored the knowledge for a later day.
“Oh don’t worry Rajanya, it’s of no importance at all, though now you’ve made me curious as to what kind of names you’ve given your children. Ah, cubs… you’re a lucky one. I have a soft spot for them myself.” And if there was any romantic interest that Fenja might’ve had for the former prince, it was suddenly and brutally killed on the spot.
“I love to travel around the rogue lands. Occasionally I meet members of friendly prides who enjoy talking about their homes when it becomes apparent I enjoy listening. I should remind you of my curious nature. Though I must say I’ve heard of many strange places… horrible places even. What would you consider your pride’s most distinct feature?”
It should be noted that Fenja’s speech was far more formal that usual though she attribute it to the former prince’s manners. She quite liked it actually, it made her feel like a Lady, a veneered and respected member of royalty even.

Kaori_luv Raja sighed thinking on his children, their names and how lucky he really was. He had them and they were a blessing but he had not seen their mother since they were very young. He had loved her, but had lost her and it still hurt. "Lucky and unlucky," he mumbled to himself. He looked to her and spoke more clearly. " Not all of their names are hard, but Opalessence, Txuratan, Tsuri'twsayan, Tompatsko'ite, and Atan'tsyal can be mouthful." Even as he names 5 of his 8 cubs he said the names which such ease it was obvious he really did not mind. Practice makes perfect.
He listened to her words on traveling and smiled as he was traveling himself now. When she asked once more of his pride this time he knew exactly how to answer. "Eywa, the mother goddess," he said simply, not really thinking to explain.
Mogami Fenja gave a heartfelt chuckle.
“My… I’m not even going to try to repeat that. You seem to be someone who can appreciate a good nickname. Though I admit you said those names with such ease that it shows you must be close to them. A very good sign I think.” The sign of a good father, most likely. Fenja couldn’t quite understand the mumbled words but she wondered why the male wasn’t with his children right now. She couldn’t pick up the scents of a pride in the area.
“Oh, there is a goddess living on your lands?” she sounded most impressed. After all, though very limited as far as experiences went, the bright lioness had her fair share of direct and indirect contact with the winged beings.
Kaori_luv "Yes Eywa lives with us and watches over the pride. I had never seen a goddess until I ventured into the Iknimaya jungle in an attempt to hunt for my then young cubs. I was enchanted my the pride, the mother tree, the tree of souls and the tree of voices. They are quite possibly the biggest tree in all the lands." He was happy to talk about the pride, but the conversation turned back to his cubs, which saddened Raja slightly. "Yes, we are close. After losing their mother they only had me. I cared for them deeply and I miss them, but they only know the pride and I needed to take this journey alone."
Mogami The pale lioness’s face light up at the talk of the goddess and the pride’s lands. It sounded beautiful and magnificent, perhaps she could even ask if they allowed visitors. Fenja’s ears perked up and shot forward taking in every word with obvious interest. But it wasn’t long before they dropped backwards and became instantly glued to the pale rainbow colored neck.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. I…” Oh boy, this was awkward… and sad. She was quite desperate to change the direction of the conversation before such a touchy subject brought their moods down. “Where are you going? Ah… it’s if it’s not too nosy of a question, Rajanya…”
Kaori_luv Raja shook his head,"No need to apologize. You simply asked a question. I did not have to answer but I did, so do not be sorry. Curiosity is a good thing Fenja." Raja gave a small smile, but shrugged slightly. "Truthfully, I am not really sure. I just know I need some time. I cannot explain it to well, but something is telling me that this is a journey I needed to make. For all I know I could have been compelled by Eywa herself." Raja grinned thinking on the last statement and wondering, if it was even possible. "Have you ever felt that way before?"
Mogami “Curiosity… is not always a good thing.” Fenja said simply, her sudden frown proof enough that she didn’t really intend to elaborate on that.
She considered his words carefully, wondering if could ever leave her family behind to go on a quest of sorts. She was quite focused really and his question visibly caught her off guard, she immediately felt back on the purest truth.
“I suppose I have.” She slowly considered her answer before continuing. “Though in my case, I’ve never felt there was I should go to… as much as place that I wanted to get away from. Does that make sense?” She thought it did.
“I’ve been out on the rogue lands since I was a cub though. I’ll settle down eventually but not for a good while I believe. For now I’ll keep wandering.” The pale lioness laughed but it was a somewhat uncomfortable sound.

Kaori_luv Raja nodded at Fenja, "No worries it. It makes perfect sense. I have never really need to run from something, except the plague that hit my pride when i was a cub, but I understand." Raja feel a little shamed for making Fenja uncomfortable and it made him fidget slightly. He frowned, "No, you are right. It is not always a good thing, but in situations like this, it can be. Let just say there are times and place for curiosity and leave it at that." Raja looked out over the lands and nearly laughed, having truly realized how very in the open and visible they were. Both so bright and just sitting around conversing. It was a wonder they had remained alone, even for this short period of time. "We are something else," he thought outloud to himself.
Mogami “Yes, I believe that’s a very good way to put it.” She spoke lightly, trying to ease the sudden frown that had appeared on Rajanya’s expression.
Her head tilted at his last comment until she was quite sure he was referring to their bright coats glimmering together in the morning sun. She had to laugh.
“Oh yes, we are. I’m very glad I ate last night, I’m sure we’ve managed to scare off all the herds in the neighborhood just by sitting here.“ her eyes locked on Raja’s as she fully took in their light color, only slightly darker than the one her old cubhood friend’s eyes had been. Even Rajanya’s coat reminded her of Fjolnir though its hue was considerably stronger and possessed the color blue that her friend never had. What would he have looked like had he grown up to her age, she wondered…? Fenja finally realized why it had been so easy to speak with this male – if his impeccable manners and friendliness weren’t reason enough. Rajanya reminded her of home.
Kaori_luv Raja laughed lightly when she responded to his thought. He had entirely noticed he spoke aloud. "You are the lucky one then, for I haven't eaten in several days. It is weird to hunt now. I scarcely know, what’s is good sized prey for me being alone without my cubs or my pride. I do not wish to take more than I need." Raja looked up to the sky pensive for a moment. "How easily I seem to have forgotten being alone. I am very surprised I am not more homesick." Raja shook his head, " no maybe that is not true. I think maybe I am more homesick for what I had and knew growing up. I think it is all jumbled up with what I have learned in the Iknimaya."
Mogami “I often forget what it’s like to be with others. Your opposite in some ways.” Fenja chuckled before her tone mimicked Rajanya’s. “It should be nice to have a place to return to… perhaps one day I’ll have one as well.”
“Several days…? That’s really no good, Rajanya!” she said suddenly as his words sunk in. “You have little ones waiting for you, you must take better care of yourself!“
Her tone wasn’t really as stern as she meant it to be and the lioness paced for a few moments before a broad smile lit up her expression.
“Alright, stand up. There was a herd near a lake a couple of hours from here. I don’t like to hunt at this hour but I’m sure the shimmering waters will be enough cover for us. If we blotch it, I’ll fish something for you.” She was already moving away but she kept talking – perhaps more to herself than Rajanya now. “A small wildebeest, or maybe a gazelle. Yes, yes, a gazelle would do…”
Kaori_luv Raja was a bit surprised that Fenja was now scolding him. He hadn't been expecting it and it threw him a bit off guard.
Raja was about to defend himself against the scolding he felt was unwarranted, when Fenja jumped up and started plotting a hunt. Raja almost declined her offer, but him stomached a gave a silent grumble which silenced his protest. Instead he made to follow the female feeling very much like a cub be scolded for skipping a morning bath. He tried to smile at her anyway before saying, "As you will, just lead the way."
