Hobbies:
Acrobatics - His dream, passion and future has always been the circus. Everything about the circus. Trapeze, wires, jumping, etc, basically everything! Adopted into a family of circus performers, they insisted he get an education at least before becoming a performer. His college education involved learning backstage arts so that he can versatile both backstage and on stage. But acrobatics is the first priority to any performer and therefore also a priority to Joshua.
Games -He has a pack of cards in his pocket. Care to make a bet? Everything and anything can be made into a bet or game with Joshua. It could almost go as far as obsession-- Joshua has an unhealthy desire and need to term everything in life as a light-hearted situation of little consequence. Whatever you have to bet, he'll take it. Whatever game you're up for, he'll take it.
Virtues:
Enjoyable - "Boredom is the bane of my life. I go to all lengths to avoid it." - Joshua's a guy who lives for fun and enjoyment, taking it all in as much as he can. Does he ever get tired it? Not at all! Boredom is his ultimate enemy. If there's anything that Joshua hates or displeases him the most, it's the repetitive fashion of life. What's life without a little bang? Snap your fingers, just a little spark and then a bang! Unfortunately, the downside to this is that he'll rarely participate in anything that doesn't capture his interest, often escaping his more boring duties to find something that will amuse him. He's the guy who'll try and make life constantly fun for others and himself.
Whimsical - "The eagle flies where it wants to go. I'm not that different." - Joshua should have his picture next to this word in the dictionary. Rules were meant for sticklers to follow. To try and put restrictions on Joshua's whimsical nature is a futile effort. He likes to think of himself as a wild card, unpredictable and unique. This is different from rebellious however-- He doesn't seek to betray his duties, just to do it in his own way without adhering to the usual routine. The how and when is left up to him, so long as he produces results, the way there (crooked or not) doesn't matter. This causes him to try and go into "creative paths" versus orthodox routines.
Indifferent - "A lowly jester's position is valuable because it's at the bottom of the ladder." - Joshua has never had the desire or ambition to move up in the world or to become rich. In fact, he couldn't possibly care any less about material items, status or wealth. Above all, he doesn't touch what's not his. He has always been indifferent in that aspect, referring to it as trouble, his intentions are only for self amusement. This is exactly why you can trust him, Joshua has never been out for self-gain or to promote himself. He's simply in it for the fun.
A charming fool - "What waits at at the end for the fool is either.. despair or applause." - Joshua would say that this is his best quality. The merry teenager is known for his flirtatious charm and knows how to easily mingle with society, upper or lower crust. Put him in a suit or skater clothes, it's the same Joshua you've always known. He's a guy who never sees the short end of the stick as the less advantageous choice. He's perfectly happy to allow the bigger slice of the pie to be eaten by someone else rather than to take it for himself. After all, he's in it for the fun, not the advantages.
Flaws:
Indirect - "Say, what happened when the cat found the mouse?" - Joshua has a aggravating habit of phrasing his words in indirect ways such as riddles, stories, symbols, sayings and confusing questions. It's not as if he can't be direct and straightforward, it's simply just not in his nature to do so. To tell someone something directly is to take out the fun of it! Taking the fun out of it would leave Joshua with nothing else to do and that's just isn't cool. Although, if you give him something else to entertain himself with, he just might stop speaking in clues and hints for awhile.
Fickle - "Three rules of life. Never chase anyone. Never reject anyone. Take man or woman.' " He rarely makes a commitment towards anyone or anything-- considering a commitment requires trust on both ends. Trust is overrated. Joshua isn't someone you should put your absolute trust in, his only motivation is to look for amusement and pleasure. When things get boring, you can count him out of the game. Whether he makes up a comeback is up to whether you interest him or not. Joshua has never what you can term as "loyal," even if his motivations aren't determined by self-profit.
Superstitious - "She's wearing peacock feathers. BAD LUCK." - If there's one thing that throws off Joshua's cool and merry nature, it's superstitions. He believes in them very strongly. He also has a strong belief in fate and destiny, not as controlling figures but there's no such thing as coincidence. There's a reason why you're here in front of him. But he's incredibly superstitious, often the guy who would rather walk around the ladder or to take a black cat seriously. It's only fair to heed the warnings that are passed down fro generation to generation after all. There's a reason why they passed the warning down.
Tough Love - "Sorry kiddo, not my problem. " - Juse like how Joshua doesn't care for material wealth or gain, he doesn't seem to care for people in the usual way either. His definition of caring is throwing you to the dogs-- That's mainly due to his love transforming into "tough" or "black love." He believes you've gotta go through the tough times yourself. He's not going to shield you from it. Joshua doesn't believe in codding or protecting. He's lost quite a few girlfriends this way, from his show of apathetic love. But for the most part, he really did like them. Otherwise, he wouldnt have gotten together with them. It's just hard for them to get into his mind. Or for anyone to get into his mind.
