OOC Info: This is a private rp for the cubs of Azi and Kaja. All those that need to do the rites in order to become an adult in the pride need to post here. Please make a post of your lion going into the water, treading in the water for a while and then concluding with the family cheering them on. It is assumed that Kaja, Azi, close friends, and the leaders are watching over the rites.

**Remember! If your lion does not do these rites, they cannot breed!!**

Thank you!

Today was the day he was looking forward to! Determination was written all over his face as Kaimu was going to become an adult today! He just knew it.

As he had waken his parents up and got them ready, he wanted to be the first in the water and the first to get this done. Afterall, he'd been working on his swimming with some friends for a while now.

With some encouraging, his whole family was on the shore as he reached the water. He glanced back at his family and gave him a huge smile. They looked all encouraging as he turned back to the water. His paws touched the water and he started in towards the ocean.

The water rose and rose to the point that his paws couldn't touch the ground any longer. As he tread the water for a while, he felt the waves gently roll him around. His face lit up as he could hear his family cheer and turned to head back towards the shoreline.

Once his paws reached the ground, he rushed out of the water with a happy yelp. He had done it! He cheered happily and gave his parents a happy nuzzle.

Awesome!

She couldn't wait to leap into the water and show everyone that she was finally ready to be considered an adult. It felt like she had to wait an eternity for this moment! Haloisi watched the water a moment, musing over her tactics just to make sure she really was as ready as she wanted to be for what was about to happen. No disappointing the family now!

Carefully, she entered the water, feeling the cool liquid move up slowly over her body. It felt like, the higher it got, she was getting hugged.

It was just a big, wet, potentially scary hug.

After a little while, her paws were no longer on the ground, allowing her to thread the water like anyone in the pride should do. Smiling to herself, she waited until it was finally time to swim back in, slowly heading back despite the desire to move even further into the ocean just to see what it would be like. No need to be reckless.

Once she was on the shore again, she ran to her family, happily to soak in their praise as her fur had soaked in the water.

It took gentle persuasion to get the light green girl into the water with the rest of her family. Sabbia wasn't scared of the water, to the contrary, she loved it. She had just never waded out any deeper than her ankles. The tide pools were her ocean, though she paid tribute with everyone else.

She cast a nervous look over her shoulder and watched her mother and father nod at her, and that's when she went into the water. She was following her sister, stopping next to her. The calm look on her sister's face was now on her own. Why had she been nervous about this? The water sliding through her fur felt better than anything she'd ever felt.

Then the water rose above her head and her paws weren't on the sand anymore. When she surfaced, she kind of lingered before answering the calls of her family and heading back to shore.

Once her paws hit solid ground again, she raced to her parents and shook off right against them. They needed part of the ocean, too!

...No way.

His twin brother had beaten him to it!

Caspian wasn't one to fear the sea, but even he was apprehensive about performing his rites. His mother and father had been sure to assure him that he'd do fine, and that he wouldn't drown, but he still couldn't help but worry! After all, the water could be unpredictable, and you never knew what it was going to do.

But now he was fuelled by a new determination. It had always been a friendly rivalry, between Kaimu and Caspian. But it was a rivalry none-the-less, and as his brother emerged from the water Caspian suddenly charged right on in there. The cold water went up his nose and some in his mouth, but he choked it out as he paddled out into the water. He heard cheers from his family and friends, and it spurred the lion on as his feet suddenly couldn't touch the ground anymore. He was floating - he'd done it! He stayed there for a few moments, just to be sure, before paddling back to shore, racing out and back onto the beach with a triumphant roar.

He'd so kicked the sea's metaphorical a**.

Apprehension was an understatement for the feelings tumbling within Ibura. Sure, he loved the sea, but when it all came down to it, he was more of a beach-lion, content to lounge about beside the waves in the warm sun, letting the song of the sea lull him into a doze. He adored the sound of the crashing waves and the screeching of the sea birds, to him it was a type of music that most just happened to ignore.

But to swim in it?
There were too many things that could bring him down.

But as he watched each of his brothers and sisters go out into the rolling waves, he knew he couldn't hold back anymore, not if he wanted to ever be seen as an adult in the pride. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as Caspian came running back through the surf to the family. Composing himself, he took a resolute step forward, followed by another and another.
He made it as far as his shoulders before he had to pause again to close his eyes, a wave rolling over his head, getting water in his nose. He wanted to glance back, to see his family, but he knew if he did, he'd just see how far out he'd gone. So on he went, until his paws finally left the sand. He trod water for a few moments, letting his accomplishment sink in before he turned back with a grin.

Proud of himself, he swam back towards his family, taking his time at it. When his paws touched the sandy bottom again, he didn't rush, taking in the moment of the waters moving around him before he returned to his family's side, a pomboo no more.
