Name:Lilias - L'lias Age:17 Gender: female Sexual Orientation: Straight Craft/Rank: fishercraft apprentice History: Lilias was born in a small village. Her father was the only woodworker on the island and he trained her two older brothers in his craft. Her family loved her dearly and Lilias was well looked after. Her two older brothers, Brynn and Dougal made sure of that they were the ones who taught her to run fast, climb trees and stand up for herself. They often led her into the forest and surrounding coves before she was apprenticed to look for hidden treasure in the form of washed up shells. They teased her when she could not keep up so she practiced to get faster. With their guiding hands and those of her parents she developed into a strong minded young women. Lilias was given the opportunity to choose her profession. After a lot of thought she chose the fishercraft. After many days adventuring with her brothers she proved to be effective at hauling in the heavy nets and scrambling over the boats of the fishing town. She even earned the prestigious "Biggest Fish Prize" at the local holiday competitions. She had patiently waited on top of the rocky outcrop, that was rumored to have big fish, poised stock still with her borrowed fishing net at the ready. After three hours the large fish had ventured out to snap at smaller fish and Lilias caught him. Making her fish master Colum proud that his apprentice if not him had come in with the catch of the day. It was through fishercraft that Lilias learned to swim. In her time off taken on calm seas upon the fishing vessel she was apprenticing on she would dive into the water and cool off, examining brightly colored fish on her way. Every time she did this she was very careful to get permission from her master. On a blessed day off, Lilias decided to swim around the headland to some of the sheltered coves close to the village. It was in one of these coves that she found a green rider washing his dragon. Upon seeing her the rider asked if she wanted to help, through light conversation Lilias learned that he was a search rider. He and his dragon liked her honest attitude and he accepted her as a candidate for Trine weyr. After saying a long goodbye to her family and her fish master who was sad to say good bye, Lilias rode a dragon fer the first time, she had a death grip on the saddle, heights were well and good cling to wood or stone, but riding a dragon was a totally different thing, as she finally adjusted the rider told her to brace herself and signaled his dragon to go between. Upon arrival at the weyr Lilias was overwelmed rather quickly with the spinning of colors as other dragons appeared over the star stones. She thanked the green rider and was promptly shown to the candidate housing. Where she stayed the rest of the day absorbing the events that had just changed her life. She did not arrive totally with out a means Colum had given her the net she had once used to catch the giant fish, her father had given her his best carving knife and her brothers had chipped in a sea shell necklace with blue beads and a ring with a tiny starfish on it. Her mother had given her the warmest blanket the family had. Thus armed the next day Lilias went to see if there was any way she could make herself useful.
Description: Compared to her older brothers Lilias was quite tiny. At only 5 foot 1 she barely looked her mother in the eyes. Her flowing auburn hair covered her eyes, hiding their deep blue color, and draped her back. She had narrow hips and a modest chest with flowing barely there curves she was not considered a great beauty, but then not many had seen her eyes and even fewer had seen the rest of her face making her a mystery to all but her closest family and friends. Small dainty feet completed the picture of a small young woman.
Personality: Lilias was an observant person and caught things other people overlooked. She was never afraid to ask the hard questions and she was a quick thinker often coming to her own conclusions about things, she was a hard worker who determinedly got the job done. She was a reliable friend with fair advice and was a loyal supporter. Often at night she would gaze out to see when she wasn't rolling around on the sand or hauling in and gutting fish, something which oddly she rather enjoyed. And a good thing too because often it fell on her to gut them every day. She loved wrestling, fishing, climbing and of course swimming. Lilias could however be quite stubborn and had small emotional outbursts occasionally at which time she would often say things that she often didn't mean. Such incidents ended in her making up the the people usually right after she finally realized what she had said. Lilias was also rather fond of bright shiny things and often collected and storied bright shells all over her room, she was not exactly the neatest person and cleaned the clutter only when in drove her crazy. On of her hobbies included carving which she had learned from her dad, carving was close to her heart because it was on of the few things she and her father had time to enjoy together and she practiced it avidly at night when everyone else was asleep, by the light of the moon and glow baskets. Lilias has to constantly do thing with her hands, carving doodling or mending nets it matters not as long as she is occupied. She loves to watch dragons in flight and thus often gets stepped on by other people while she looks on in wonder at dragons when she is near them. Lilias is a better than average student because of having to learn quick on the fishing boats if u discount the doodles on her hides. Spring and summer are her favorite seasons she can handle cold but prefers that snow stays far away.
Other: In the way of flaws Lilias has a dream and determination like no other. There is the perfect boy out there for her and when she finds him she will not let go easily, her tenacity was almost unparalleled in her small village and echoes in her today. If she is doing nothing not working on something or working with her mind or hands she starts to pace then starts to sweat and eventually the anxiety will build into a hyper, annoying, talkative, frustrated meltdown. Her un-organization in legendary and she often finds herself running back to her room for materials essential to her classes. Things she didn't have to go far on in the fishing boats now irritate her by not being in their proper places. Lilias almost never lies and is quite frank about her opinions the truth as it were hurts but lying is worse and harder to cover up so is not worth the effort unless it is for a good cause or she is having an awfully bad day and lying would get her out of having a worse day. It happens so unfrequently that the rumormongers of the village often came to her for the dirt/real story Lilias also tends to ignore people when she is concentrating really hard often blocking out important information getting her in trouble with chores or school. In her time off Lilias will almost surely be in the lake either helping riders bath their dragons or swimming around chasing fish, lobsters and crabs. Thus she irritates the people looking for her if she is far from where she is supposed to be and they are looking for her. Her attatchment to the ocean is so strong that the lake acts as a substitute hence her nearly unfailing attendance in the water thank you for your in depth explanation it helped a lot!

Hello and welcome!
There's a few things that need to be addressed in your application before it can be accepted.
Firstly, and while it's relatively minor, could you please fix the grammar and tense of your profile? Third person past tense is best, and no chatspeak - otherwise it's unnecessarily difficult to read the application.
Secondly, I reccomend reading the setting information for this particular Pern RP. While AIVAS did exist, it was destroyed and then defamed after the plot to get rid of the Red Star failed. The technologies of AIVAS were lost a long time ago and such things as studying genetics on a level you're implying no longer exists.
The basis of your history is a good start - but I need a little more about their background. Besides sighing and staring at the ocean every night, I'm sure there were other things she did, friends and family she encountered, hobbies and her own small adventures? Tell me about them - what was her childhood like? You've only given me a narrow glimpse and I need a bit more.
Her description is a bit off kilter for the history given. Being a woodcrafter, wouldn't she have spent more time inside or in the local forest - how did she learn to swim so excellently if her time was spent in Woodcraft apprenticeship?
Your personality is also a good start but requires some editing. Be wary of using statements like "quite often think of things before my peers" - this is godmod-y and implies things about her peers rather then herself. Perhaps she's observant and a quick-thinker, often arriving at her own conclusions? Avoid saying things about others as a comparison to your character.
The personality is full of contradictions. She is mellow but a hard and fast talker, loyal and reliable but unable to drop a grudge, compassionate but brutally honest... etc etc. While some contradiction is alright - it needs to make sense for the kind of personality it is. If she is compassionate, for example, how is she so willing to forgo that empathy to get a job done? The latter is as odds with the former.
We are also currently in an Interval, not a Pass, and thus no Thread has recently Fallen She would not be Searched while fighting Thread if Thread had been falling - which it was not.
Finally, gold digging is not encouraged here. It is highly frowned upon. While ever girl dreams of Impressing a queen, assuming you'll bond to a breeding dragon is rather arrogant. If this is a character trait, that's fine, but as a general assumption it's no good. Additionally, as already mentioned, there is no specific study of dragon breeding and genealogy - it's well known what colour with what colour produces what sort of offspring. And family lines aren't kept save for the queens.
Genetic manipulation of dragons, firelizards, and Whers, is also not possible considering the lack resources to do so.
If you could address the issues discussed in this review, I'll be happy to take another look and approve the profile once the kinks are worked out.
Thanks!

Excellent revision!
Just a few things and then you're good to go. I don't really see any flaws in her personality - could you maybe highlight the ones you've got there already? Adding a few would also be a good idea.
She can have a temper but it doesn't count as a character flaw (it's in the announcements in the thread where the character forms are). The only other flaws I see is are a general lack of tidiness and stubborness. The latter is also a really common character flaw, but the untidiness is definitely a good one - as long as it effects her daily life.
Some suggestions for flaws would be: workaholic (must always be working/keeping busy and will be get irritated/agitated if not working), brutally honest (never lies and is bluntly honest all the time, which may cause trouble combined with her other traits), etc etc. Basically I would like to see a few traits that have the potential to cause friction between her and other people.
You'll also want to change her craft to reflect her revised history. =3
Thanks~
