I just thought I might ask some random questions and ponder some random thoughts on the subject smile
How many of you work with crystals? If you do is it for your path or in your practice? Or is it for things such as healing using crystal and chakra energies?
When you work with crystals do you pair them with yoga or meditation? What I mean is something like a daily ritual, perhaps. You meditate, work with crystals/stones, do yoga, etc all in a certain order as part of your daily schedule.
Do you only work with stones or crystals you find yourself, or do you purchase them from reputable sources? Do you prefer rough stones, polished/tumbled stones, or cut crystals and stones?
Have you ever considered becoming a healer or someone who works with holistic and alternative medicine?
Also, a thought to ponder; do you think bad luck, in some way or another, would befall someone who wore 'bad' stones or crystals? Here's an example; a man buys his wife a diamond engagement ring, and it just so happens to be set with blood diamonds that were mined through horrible methods or circumstances. Since the ring is supposed to be a symbol of his love for her, do you think that the energy of the diamond could contribute to any negative energy that could be in their relationship, and make it worsen or grow?
Just some random thoughts/questions. If you have any to add, by all means do so smile

I use stones as inspiration in a lot of cases. I have a stone that I know is meant for creative purposes (and I lost its card, so I can't remember its name), so whenever I'm writing, I set it next to me on my desk. I try to sleep with amethyst under my pillow or next to my bed as psychic protection.
I'm trying to work with them more often so they're not just sitting around looking pretty. And I guess I never thought of them as part of my path or anything; I see them as a sort of universal energy that anyone can utilize, regardless of path.

I have a few crystals and gems. I'm just never really sure what to do with them, so for the most part they sit there. xd

I've used a pearl in a divining meditation once. It's the only meditation where I've actually had a vision, which was really awesome.
In high school, I had the most horrible crush on a teacher of mine for two years straight. I was about to graduate and was trying to decide what to do about it, so I picked up a blue pearl I'd bought in Sea World (they have a thing where you can pick three oysters out of a really hot diver's hands and then open them up and see what you get) and started meditating on the issue. I felt the pearl grow warm in my hand and had a vision of a woman with long dark hair wearing a white flowing dress turn and hand me something. The vision grew dark and suddenly I knew what I had to do and was at peace with the issue.

I have a few crystals and tumbled stones that I use. I believe with each of the properties that they contain help us on our spiritual journey. I have specific ones that help with the chakras and others that I will hold when I am meditating. I feel it helps me focus my mind as I talk with my spirit guides. I will buy my crystals from stores that I feel comfortable in energetically speaking. Normally these stores have a good reputation. I really get crystals that I need or tend to call me so to speak.
As for bad luck giving someone a "bad" stone or crystal, really should not apply with were it comes from. Bad energy would apply if the stone or crystals was given in a negative way. For example, if a husband gave a diamond to help ease a fight that he just had with wife even if he was still mad at her. The diamond would have negative energy with it because the husband had not forgiven his wife before giving it to her. The negative energy would stay with it versus giving it to her when he had already forgive and wanted to show how very sorry he was for the fight. This is just how I feel about that.
I am a holistic healer and I find that pairing the stones with that helps both me and the person I am working on. I have been attuned for the Second Degree in Reiki. I find that Reiki helps mend things and opens up the various chakras. I am more than happy to send any one healing energy that needs it, just send me a pm and we can work out a time to do it.

I like crystals and stones but I don't really use them in a metaphysical sense. I appreciate them as opjects of beauty and I make jewelry with them and sometimes I make things for others to use for metaphysical purposes but that's about it.

Jes I find the experiences you've have with your stones/crystals really interesting. I've rarely been able to get anything out of mine (most likely because I'm slacking in the 'working with them' department sweatdrop ) I'm glad to hear they were helpful experiences, too. I'd heard that amethyst can also be used under the pillow for dreams and such, have you ever had any dreams, maybe very meaningful or perhaps even precognitive, while sleeping with the amethyst?
Aha, I know what you mean San, because that has become me xd I haven't so much as looked at any of my stones or crystals in months. But my issue is because either I really have no time, or I only use that as an excuse because I'm lazy. Have you ever used them say...on your altar? Or do you have specific gems/crystals for a certain deity because they seem to like said crystal?
Pluto you're a level that I've wanted to reach since I started with the crystals and stones I have. Though I have a main career goal, I really do want to find room to do something with holistic healing. It seems you work really well with crystals, how long did it take you to become, hmmm, better attuned to them? I also like your idea on the different negative energy more in the sentiment of the gift.
I recently started trying to do what you're doing, Raven. I up and decided I was interested in jewelry not too long ago and wanted to make some, and of course wanted to work with crystals and stones when I did. Just curious as to when you do make things with them, what skill level would you say you are in crafting? xd I'm extremely amatuer and alway wondering about other people's stuff.

Not that I remember, honestly. I need to keep a more regular journal of such things.

I had a mentor at one point in time. She sorta opened the door for me to step through. I normally will hold the stone in my left hand and focus on it. If the stone or crystal is meant for me than the energy comes off of it will relate to it. It does take a bit of trusting your gut as well. Patrice will make it easier with time. IF you want to do holistic healing it just the matter of going out and doing it. Good luck. biggrin

Okay, so I did sleep with amethyst under my pillow last night, and my boyfriend reported to me that he heard me telling him, in his dream, not to wake up because I wasn't ready to go yet (I slept in until noon and was sleeping until I called him to tell him I was ready). So he didn't wake up. He remembers it being an interruption into the dream he was having at the time, not part of the dream itself. I also woke up several times this morning and thought about getting out of bed, but decided not to. Serious interpersonal connection or psychic projection?
Also, I slept with my new runes under my pillow, so I don't know if that could have interfered somehow.

Did you cleanse either item first? Bought items can pick up wierdness from all over the place, so it can be difficult to figure out what happend why.

The amethyst, yes, but the runes, no.
