Nicknames: Pet names are kept private, as most of the time they do not make sense to others and are somewhat embarrassing when said by anyone BUT the parents. So nicknames will be given ICly.
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Faction/Race Demon || Spriggan
Personality: Elden is, for the most part, an introverted individual. Like that of a stray cat his instincts declare strangers untrustworthy; warning him to step lightly, to act as if something could go wrong at any moment, and to respond wisely--if at all! He is soft-spoken during most conversations, particularly those that are held with unfamiliar or even vaguely familiar faces. Large crowds, or even stand-alone individuals are usually avoided by choice.
Of course at the end of the day Elden is a child at heart. While his parents did a great job convincing him to keep mostly to himself--that raging curiosity which leads to trouble, the questioning and the talkativeness that comes from such intrigue, and the all around sneaky behavior which makes him a Spriggan will surface undoubtedly. Granted this usually comes about when he is either EXTREMELY interested in something/someone, or if he has managed to make a friend. Elden will find his way into trouble at some point along the educational road. It is just what Spriggan's do.
Elden around ghouls: Elden very rarely dealt with the ghouls in his clan, thus his interests in them is limited to how much fun they can provide or what goods they have in their possession. He doesn't necessarily find them 'gross', as most teenage boils might (but that doesn't mean he has a sense of 'attraction' either, not a firm sense anyway) and will probably not understand why a boil his age would tease them. This of course may change as he arrives at Amityville Academy, and those same boils who do all the picking inform him of love and kissing and all of that stuff...which not even his parents did. (In front of him.) In the event that Elden is approached by a ghoul with love on her mind BEFORE a boil gets the chance to corrupt him--he might just tilt his head this way and that, and inquire about what this 'love' stuff is.
Monkey See, Monkey Do: For being such a poor listener and having the attention span of a fly, Elden picks up on trends and habits quickly. It is why he will most likely start to dislike ghouls because they have interests that others find 'disgusting'...or he will eat in a certain way that is cosmetically pleasing to him. Or he will even start to dance in the hallways if he catches another student doing it. Usually he is drawn to the activities that will benefit him, however like the examples above; Elden will do pretty much anything that catches his interests. Ie. A guitar player sits on the side of the road playing lovely tunes for those who pass him by, and in turn for listening several of those individuals will toss coins into his guitar case. The following day Elden will be seen standing in the same spot the guitar player had been, plucking the wire-based strings of his can guitar with one hand--while the other is held out for coins.
Prankster Elden: While he seems reserved on most occasions, Elden enjoys playing tricks on others--whether they are aware of them or not. Usually these are all in good fun, for him mostly, despite how bothersome they are for others. But on occasions he will pull a prank that is out of spite, or envy, or all around rage. In his young age he can't pull off grandiose plans, so the prank will be of the same caliber as those of pure fun...It will just feel ten times better when the prank succeeds.
Academic Elden: Being so young and living most of his life amongst the wicked fairies of the forest, those wise old garden gnomes, other Spriggan children and Spriggan folk and basically not in a structured system has left the boil without much of an attention span. He is constantly distracted while in class, fiddling with his feet or thumbs, leaning over to see what another student is writing/playing with, or staring awkwardly at the fixtures on the wall. Activities that are hands-on will peak his interests far more quickly than those that require him to read and write (which Elden has very little experience with) or to simply sit and listen for an hour and a half. He can be a quick learner, so long as the teacher/tutor is patient with him...Elden will require training, most definitely.
Elden's Curiosity: It often boarders intrusiveness, as a strong enough interest will guide his head into your bag pack, or hands into your pockets. If caught, he probably won't even acknowledge what it was he was doing but rather will inquire about what he found. This of course differs with the situation.
Mild Trust Issues: While Elden enjoys gloating about his goodies to his family and close friends back home, trusting others with this information is difficult. Trusting outsiders is not something Spriggan's can say they do often, but it is not impossible...Elden just finds it easier to be extremely careful over being completely open. Mind you, he will be more inclined to trust you if you either A) take one of his things and blackmail him or B) have a shiny that he wants. Also please note, if you plan on blackmailing him I hope you do not plan on befriending him again as he does not forgive easily when his trust has been betrayed.
MY STUFF: Just do not touch Elden's things unless he says it's cool to do so. Even if you have gotten as far with him as becoming friends and he lets you into his dorm room, that doesn't give you the right to pick up his pocket watch--stolen from that one teacher who wears them all of the time. So just do not do it. Or else he'll rip it from your hands, rock back and forth in a corner whispering 'my precious', and probably never want you around again.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Elden is sent to the school as a test dummy. While most clans are still wary of the transition from traditional to civilized, those who have started the move have learned of an institution that aims to help students with their 'FEAR' abilities. Once they came to terms that what they refer to as 'spirit' is the 'FEAR' of which the school intends to help Elden harness, both his parents as well as the clan took interest. While outcasting is a part of their lifestyle, weeding out the good and the bad, it depletes them of their numbers and puts their loot at risk during seasons which families spawn several 'bad eggs'. Thus, if all ends well, this academy may be seeing more Spriggan's than it can hold.
FEAR: Channeling FEAR into his fingertips, Elden is able to manipulate tree's and their roots for both combat and protection.
Y1 - Elden must dig his fingers into the soil in order for the attack to work. While it is difficult to channel the FEAR to the appropriate area, it is far more draining for him to distribute the FEAR to the roots. Thus with the amount of time the attack takes to be summoned, and Elden's exposed form unable to do any physical damage, this can easily be put to an end with a simple kick to the side.
Y2 - He must continue to use the soil for his dirty work, however now he can use the roots to both protect his physical being by forming a ball of tangled roots around him, while using others to trap/attack/ect. He is also toying around with the complete manipulation of tree's, starting off with small flowers and their roots to see just how far he can push his FEAR.
Y3 - Elden has nearly mastered the distribution of his FEAR, capable of summoning roots without touching the earth. In his third year he has also managed to learn how to control entire trees, willing roots and all to be taken out of the ground to walk and attack for him. He can either summon several small plants (such as flowers, weeds, ect.) , two or three smaller tree's, or one large tree.
Natural Ability: Spriggan's are made most infamous for their ability to swell in size on command. This can either be to stretch taller or to expand wider (or both!) and can be for as many reasons as one would like. The ability can last for quite some time depending on the skill level of the Spriggan, and is of course limited by the actual height and width. A Spriggan can shift back and forth between its original form and this new growth with no hint of malformation. As for Elden this natural ability is short lived, lasting about 2 to 5 minutes each use. (for y1) He can use it again almost immediately after snapping back into shape, however.
Physical Description: Elden appears disheveled almost all of the time--mostly because of his hair, which is long, blond, and all over the place. His skin is a pale greenish-blue color, the palms of his hands and the soles of his feet slightly lighter in hue, with smokey gray/black surrounding his eyes. Those eyes are cat like in shape, blue (or orange? See which looks best to you!), and always wide with both curiosity and suspicion. His cheeks should be somewhat full, but his chin should come to a point rather than rounding off. He should have large elf-like ears that are thin near their tip, and his nose should be curved upward only slightly! His arms should be thin and a little too long for his body, legs long and spindly just as well. Attached to the backs of his arms, found along his jaw line, sprouting out of his head like horns and poking out of each bone along his spine are sharp, 'wood'-like objects which act in many ways like hair. While it would hurt to rip one out of place, they are not a necessity and can be cut/broken off at their tips if need be.
Height: 4'8 Tiny boil
Eye Colour: Green
Hair Colour/Style: Dirty blond/straight blond, kept fairly long although the lengths in between are choppy.
Skin Colour: Greenish-blue, where the palms of his hands and the soles of his feet are a lighter hue.
