Irit yawned and stretched, ready for the day to begin. She looked back to her sleeping cubs and smiled a bit. They were getting bigger, and even if two of them weren't quite what she wanted...they were hers. Her babies. The red-eyed lioness hummed and trotted out, intent on catching something before the day got too far in. She was all sorts of hungry, and knowing her cubs, they'd be hungry once they finally woke up. Chavah and Rangi especially.
She also needed to check on one of her older 'traps'. It was in a place that wasn't easily gotten to...but every now and again someone might have stumbled across it. She hoped not. She REALLY didn't feel like another zebra mad at her for the honey and feathers trick.

Seething, the usually properly groomed and kept Kimbizi was irritatedly pulling feathers off of his paws. His light, soft blue eyes were boiling with anger, shooting glares at anything that looked at him. So far, he'd been graced by only a small audience of birds. They had found his predicament hilarious. He had mentioned how nice an avian snack sounded. That got rid of them, but it did not get rid of the feathers that would assuredly be stuck to him for some time. And don't even get him started on the honey. He was about ready to kill every bee within the pridal boundaries.
It wasn't like he'd been having a good day, anyway. He'd been moping. Again. And hiding from his large family. Again. And then he'd stepped in what someone had so lovingly left behind. He had no idea how honey and feathers ended up together in one area. Perhaps the birds had done it. That must've been why they were laughing. Muttering loudly about the stupid birds and the stupid bees, he continued to painstakingly remove goo and fluff from his previously handsome coat.

Irit ALMOST passed by Kimbizi with just a nod. But seeing his grumpy mood and a flash of feathers on his paws in her peripheral vision stopped her. Red eyes blinked...and she knew someone had found her old trap alright. Crap.
"You look like you got an unwelcome surprise." She'd likely admit to it...but not just yet. He looked VERY grumpy.

Kimbizi would've been pleased to just let the lioness by with a curt nod. He would've been thrilled, in fact. Conversation was so far out of the realm of possibility for him at that moment, he couldn't fathom that someone would dare try. He could practically feel the anger and annoyance oozing from his fur, spreading out from in for a five meter radius, creating an end all sort of niceties orb that would free him from social obligations like talking.
Normally, Zi was polite at best. He hadn't been the NICEST lion lately, but he was always polite. At this particular moment, though, he was far from polite. He was angry. When the lioness dared speak, his gaze sloooowly scanned upwards from his paw to her face, his tongue stopped mid-lick, stuck to the honey and feathers, his ears pressed back. Slower still, his tongue retreated into his mouth. "Yes." His voice was definitely strained. "Unwelcome." If he could shoo her off with quick replies, he would by all means use them.
