Zhenyuli slowly walked along the plains near the large, towering mountains. Her head swiveled back and forth, amazed at everything she saw. Sure, they were similar views to those back home, but being free, being on her own changed everything. It was all fresh and vibrant, waiting to be explored. There were surprises and new experiences waiting everywhere, ready to be discovered by the caring, if guarded, mare she was, without judgement, real or imagined.
Giving into her overwhelming feeling of newfound freedom, Zhenyuli let go and galloped across the plain, feeling the wind whipping past her, tangling her long, mauve mane and tale, striking the packed earth forcefully with her hooves. It felt like she could as fast a she wanted, anywhere she wanted, anytime she wanted, for as long as she wanted. Zhenyuli felt like she was flying.

Speaking of flying. A red shape slowly landed among the tall grass. Her wings folding as she landed near the shade of a tree. The tall grass tickling her underbelly gently. smiling as she looked around, seeing the blue-violet soq approach. Raising an eyebrow at who she was before gulping, seeing her tusks or sharp teeth. "This can't be good...."

As Zhenyuli was running along, she stopped short as she saw a streak of red and purple fly through the sky and land a ways away under a tree. 'How odd!' Zhenyuli thought to herself. It seemed to be a Soquili, but it looked like a bird, feathers covering it's whole body not just its wings. Zhenyuli eyed the creature warily, contemplating whether she should take her chances or not. The creature didn't seem to have any horns or tusks, like Zhenyuli, and if it looked like a bird it might behave like one, and just fly off instead of fighting Zhenyuli if things turned bad. Odds were, she would be more than fine.
The troll mare tossed her head and walked forward confidently, as if she owned the ground she walked on, stopping a short distance from the other in the long grass. "Greetings to ya. My name is Zhenyuli, an' I'm a newcomer here. Who do ya be?" she asked bluntly. While she didn't smile, Zhenyuli didn't act aggressive or annoyed either, not wanting to agitate the mare in case she was skittish. She was simply guarded, waiting to gauge the reaction of the bird Soquili. Her adventures on her own were already promising to be very interesting.

"Hm? I'm Raven... and you? Erm....." she asked, eyeing her tusks for a quick second before looking back at her. "You're...not going to eat me...are you?" she asked, one of her hoofs back discreetly to try and take of if she said yes.

Zhenyuli chuckled as she saw Raven eyeing her tusks. "It is good to meet ya, Raven," Zhenyuli said. She cracked a smile at her question, her ego being stroked at the indication she was intimidating. "No, I'd never do such a thing. My tusks are only for self-defense and other, occasional odd jobs."
"As I said," she continued, inching closer to the female," my name'd Zhenyuli. I come from a large clan of trolls in the forest. I'd like to find my own way in the world, now, and I'm simply looking around to meet people."

She chuckled and shook her head. "I'm a traveller as well." she replied. "and troll family?" she asked, raising an eyebrow, the first time she has heard of such a family or variant within this region.

"Well, i's good fortune ta meet a kindred spirit, then" the mare answered. Listening to her question, Zhenyuli cocked her head to the side, surprised the Raven had never heard of the large family. Then again, they were pretty isolated, so only those Soquili who lived near their forest would hear of them, most likely, since most trolls and other Soquili from the area didn't wander too far.
"All t' trolls I've met live in the WillowGlen forest," Zhenyuli started in her strange accent. "We all seem ta be a bit bigger than most Soquili, an' most of us have this pale blue coloring." Her eyes became far away as she recalled the first words her grandmother, Malis, had ever spoken to her. "My grandmother explained it this way. Trolls be t' strength o' t' earth, t' wisdom o' t' whisperin' wind, t' power o' t' rushin' river an' t' fierceness o' t' flame. Ya be childs o' t' spirits, here by their grace an' t' learn o' their teachin's," she quoted, imitating her grandmother's voice impeccably.
Shaking herself, she smiled at Raven. "We're a very mystical people. T' spirits guide our lives, and many o' us can talk ta them, my father an' grandmother included. We have many long traditions, an' our family's enormous, bu' very strongly bonded," the troll mare finished. It was hard for her to capture everything the troll clan was about, the feeling and atmosphere and Soquili there, but it was really only important that Raven got the gist of it.

"I see...." Somewhat mesmerized by the strange blue soq. Thankful though that she would not be the lunch as it seems. "And.... Spirits?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. She was rather skeptical of these religious types, some of them bordered between insanity, which was fine, to outright fanaticism, which was the more worrisome form. "I'm not from here. I never really settled down on a home yet."

Zhenyuli smiled. "Yes, spirits. They're like our deities, our connection ta th' heavens an' t' our ancestors." These were simply Zhenyuli's beliefs and traditions, not any fanatical cult or anything.
"Well, I've just left my home. I want ta go out an' see t' world, I want t' travel an' meet people. Bu'," she continued, looking at Raven, it's easier when there's someone else ta come along wit' you."

"Who're you looking for?" she asked gently. She's met a kirin before, traveled with him for a while and left after some time. Smiling gently with a soft giggle. "Any friends you got out there you wanna meet up?"

Zhenyuli thought about it for a moment. "No one specific, realleh. Jus' other Soquili who're different from me. I did meet a stallion when I was young, an' i' would be fun ta see him again, bu' I don' know where he's gotten to. Mostly, I'd just like ta wander." Zhenyuli smiled at the birdlike Soquili, she seemed like she'd be nice to travel with.

She giggled and playfully nudged him. "Dun tell me you're engaged or something." she teased her with a giggle, wondering if she was the type to chase their childhood loves as it seems.

Zhenyuli looked at the other mare a little sadly, feeling for her solitude, but let it go quickly as she realized Raven didn't miss them. Zhenyuli smiled. "So where ya off ta? Perhaps we can jus' wander tagether," she offered.
