So I want to make my text tone the opening to Go-Getter Greg by Ludo.
And in order to do that, I need to be able to isolate the "Oh, Hello!" part and make it louder. Then if I can put that in my iTunes library, I can get it on my phone from there.
But I have no idea how to do any of that. :/
Help?

Also, Ludo is one of my favorite bands.

Are you familiar with sound editing programs?

I would suggest you go to MP3myMP3 (it's shareware and I haven't had any problems with it) and get the correct version of the software for your version of Windows. It is a very simple program that is pretty self explanatory if you know a little bit.

If you know nothing at all about sound editing programs, then it may look complicated but it isn't really. You just hit record right before you play your music on the computer, and it will record the sound, then you can stop it where you want to end your tone.

Try to keep the side bar in the green and be sure that it doesn't peak into the red zone, if it does you are recording with the volume too loud. Keep adjusting the volume down until the bars stay in the green area. You may get it on your first go, or you may get it after a few tries, but it still won't be too hard.

Once you have a good recording you just name the file and take note where it saves to.

After that, if you can use MP3's as ring tones just upload the new file to your phone. If you need a different format, you will need a conversion program. For the most part, there is free/shareware for that stuff as well.

Nope, I'm pretty helpless, lol. I'm a quick learner though, so hopefully I can pick it up pretty fast.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Is there any way to edit where it begins and ends?
I want to cut out the beginning few seconds.

I think the best way to do it without installing another program is to open your media-player program and adjust the size of the window to half the size of your screen and open MP3my MP3 in the other half.

Then play your song and take note of the second you want your sample to start and end. Then start the song and hit the record button on the MP3 program on the right second. Then hover your cursor over the stop button, and watch the timer in the media-player until you hit the second you want to end your sample, and just hit stop when it gets there.

Otherwise, there is a relatively simple sound editing freeware program (I can't remember the name right now) that gives you a visual sound-wave display in which you can "cut" samples out of sound-bytes. It isn't really much more complicated than MP3myMP3. I'll try to find my old version so I can remember the name of it.
